I had gotten my eyes checked elsewhere, but I had yet to find glasses and I didn't like the styles they offered at the optometrist. When I got inside, I noticed that there was hand sanitizer right up front and all the employees had gloves on as well. They did let me know right away that I was able to try on glasses and that the ones that I didn't like went into a sanitizing tray on each table so they can be properly sanitized before being placed back on the wall. I definitely liked the measures they took with ensuring everyone's safety amidst the pandemic! I ended up finding a pair of translucent glasses that I liked. They were priced for $95, so I was anticipating adding tax on and whatnot when I purchased them. But no! They were actually $95, including adding my prescription onto them! I opted to add the blue light protector (since I work in an office & spend 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen) and it was $50 more. I received my glasses in about 5 days later, and I went back for an adjustment (since the frames I got were a bit tight on my temples) and I ended up buying another pair, haha! I stopped in before shopping to see if I could get an appointment and was able to see Dr. Jan right away! Dr. Jan was friendly and professional the whole time and addressed all of my concerns about my vision. In the end he told me I was in between my current prescription and the next so I could go either way but since I've been noticing that my vision had worsened I could move to the next prescription. Unfortunately, the care and professionalism I received matched the physical pain I was in. Upon entering, the staff was unapproachable and cold, and Dr. Jan addressed me only by name to give staff directions in front of me while entirely skipping a basic greeting. Before my exam, which included a painful laser photo that left me needing a moment to recover. I explicitly verified my insurance coverage again. Despite having called ahead to confirm insurance, receiving two text reminders, and having the appointment confirmed day-of, the receptionist shouted across a crowded, very small waiting room immediately after my procedure: "You can't see the doctor without paying out of pocket. We don't take "Name of insurance!" She literally yelled outloud the name of my medical insurance carrier. When I reasonably asked why my appointment and insurance had been repeatedly confirmed beforehand, the receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders coldly and demanded I leave, while Dr. Jan closed her office door to avoid the situation steps away from me. To be subjected to public humiliation while in acute physical pain, with zero empathy, compassion, or accountability from the staff or the physician is completely unacceptable. I left in pain and deeply disappointed by this establishment. Avoid this office inside of Costco if you expect basic respect and competent administrative communication.

It's worth your time to check them out if you are in need of new pair of glasses and/or eye exam. Tucked away at their new location in the Dorsey Search area off of Dorsey Hall Road, the office is bright, clean, and staffed with courteous team members, and also, they have a great selection of frames. I had come here to have my son get a eye exam, which was easy and painless, and Dr. Cho was very patient in evaluating my young son. After we finished, we sat down with a staff member and reviewed the options of selecting frames and lenses, and since we brought our frames we had just ordered the lenses which would take a couple days. When we came back, they helped us fit the new glasses to my son to ensure comfort and proper fit, and asked us to wait a short while to adjust the glasses, insert and edge the new lenses to the frames. This being my first experience at Galleria Optical and while waiting for my son's glasses, I thought I should also get a check up myself on the health of my eyes and vision (since it's been a few years since the the last one) asked if I could also schedule an appointment as well. They mentioned since they were ahead of schedule if I'd like to get an eye exam now which worked out perfectly since I'm already there and waiting for my son's glasses. The exam was thorough despite being speedy, and I never felt like I was being rushed in my evaluation. Matter of fact, Dr. Cho double checked to make sure my vision was correct after she looked at my current pair of worn glasses. Really Hats off to Dr. Cho and the friendly staff members. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
