I made an appointment and filled out the paper for my insurance before arriving including uploading my insurance card. Two front desk employees acknowledged that they received my vision insurance card. Rather than tell me before I arrived or even after I arrived, I was told after waiting to be seen by the Dr that they didn't take my insurance. I could have been notified before I took an hour off work and driving time that my insurance wasn't accepted. I asked why my paperwork wasn't reviewed when received and was told that they do review it. I don't have any time off to waste like this and finally got upset enough to write this review. They should have reviewed my paperwork before I arrived so I could cancel the appointment. It did seem, based on statements made, that I could pay 100% out of pocket. Why in the world would I do this if I have good vision insurance? Just be honest and let me know as soon as possible that they don't take my insurance. read more

basic details - overpriced, poor customer service, lied to about their purchase policy, I will not go back, I advise everyone not to go I chose this place out of convenience to purchase a new pair of glasses. I already had a prescription from a different office. The selection was rather limited and I felt like I had to fight for the attention of sales people even though there were at least 3 employees in the front at all times and they weren't busy. The pair I purchased was overpriced, but again the convenience of the location is why I purchased them. I picked them up and they seemed to be fine. The staff tried to make some minor adjustments. I called the office the next day to explain to them that the glasses were causing me headaches and I was concerned the prescription wasn't correct as I have another pair matching the same prescription and I don't have any issues with that pair. I was told, over the phone, they were examined prior to giving them to me and they were correct. The employee told me because I didn't have my prescription through that office they couldn't do anything. I was then told I have one change in prescription covered with my purchase and I have one year from the purchase date to make the change; furthermore, I was told if I scheduled my next eye appointment with them the prescription would be guaranteed. I called to schedule the appointment, about seven months later, and was told I would need to pay full price for any changes to the prescription. I was told the change in prescription policy was not one year from the purchase date, rather it was three months from the purchase date. Since I was misinformed, I asked if there was anything they could do and was told no. Despite the fact that the glasses are useless to me as is, I canceled the appointment and will never go back. Don't go. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. read more

I wrote a review about two years ago, but felt the need to write another one based on my last two experiences. I've been seeing Dr. Generie the first 2-3 times and saw Dr. Dorsam the last time (month or so ago). They are obviously two different people, but both are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I visit revolutionEYES, the entire staff is very friendly and they will all go that extra mile to make sure you have all your questions answered. I have read some negative reviews with people saying that there are long wait times and the perception that all they care about is money/getting paid. The 4-5 times I've been there, I don't think I waited more than 10 minutes. Also, they are VERY transparent about insurance and pricing. They have even sat down with me to go over different scenarios/options on cost. In the midst of everything that's been going on these days with the corona virus, I know a lot of business are closed down. I wouldn't have been upset if this place was closed as well. I had a pair of glasses that were in really bad shape. 1) it's extremely old 2) i recently dropped it. I called to see if they were first open and to see if I could stop by to get it fixed. I felt like they could have turned me down due to the whole 'social distancing'. They could have also turned me down to force me to purchase a new pair of glasses. They could've not picked up my phone call or said they weren't seeing anyone during this time. It was none of that. They said to come on over. I was asked what car I would be coming in so they can come outside to pick up my glasses. I parked my car and Stephanie came out to get my glasses and within 5-7 minutes, she came out with what i thought were brand, new glasses. No charge. I can't thank Stephanie enough for doing this for me during a time like this. I've had headaches for the past couple days, having to wear my contacts all day and night. I was afraid no one was going to be open or I would've had to spend a couple hundred dollars for new glasses. I felt like the least I could do is write (update) a review about this experience in hopes to keep this place going strong. read more

Stop reading reviews for other optometrists, this is the one you need to go see! I was coming home from a trip to Florida and my eye was killing me. We called and Dr. Loan Dorsam answered and immediately showed concern for my issue. We weren't going to make it before they closed (due to a large snowstorm) and she offered to stay late, how awesome is that!? In the exam she immediately figured out what my problem and genuinely cared about showing me what was wrong, how she knew, and what we were going to do to fix it. She is not only one of the nicest, happiest people I've ever met, but she genuinely cared and had concern for my issue. You don't just walk in to any office and get this kind of care. This feels like a weird thing to say but that was the most pleasant eye exam I've ever had! I had a scheduled appointment at 11, came in and was immediately brought back. Had a few eye measurements taken then moved to another room where Dr. Dorsam came in soon after. She's so energetic and nice. She was super detailed and not in a rush at all. She brought up my eye images and explained everything as she went along. She spent as much time with me as needed and answered all my curious questions. My wife and I had our first appointments here today and it was such an amazing experience! Dr. Dorsam was the most informative eye doctor I've ever been to and was so thorough in explaining everything to us. I have suffered from dry, red eyes for years and she is the first doctor who has told me about what might be causing it and how I can work to treat it with more than just drops. My wife and I were in the room together and when she was looking at our eyes through the microscope she let us each look at the other's eyes and explained what we were looking at ... it felt like the most fun science class I've ever been in. All three of us were even crying laughing at one point ... she's so personable, friendly, knowledgable, patient, and thorough. The woman who checked us in and did the preliminary tests was super nice as well as the two women who helped my wife pick out a pair of frames. I can't say enough about how great an experience it was and I'm definitely going to continue seeing Dr. Dorsam in the years to come. read more

I will say - they do not have a lot of options for glasses, and most are very high priced - so be prepared to spend some money on a pair of glasses. They did an ok job. I went in to have my eyes checked since I hadn't had my glasses adjusted for over 12 years. The doctor did a pretty good examination, and I felt she got it pretty close, but not perfect. Who is to say what perfect would be. For me, no headaches from eye strain would be perfect. They did tell me that they would need to dilate my pupils, so I asked someone to take off work and drive me. Much to my surprise, they didn't dilate my my eyes. I felt bad for the person who took off to take me. I did buy a new pair of glasses from them, and they fit very well. The price was very reasonable. They did a good job with the cleanliness and COVID-19 awareness. I felt comfortable the whole time. read more

If i could give no stars I sure would! I made an appointment here because of the location and it looked super cute. The reviews were great too! Unfortunately it all went downhill from there. I made the appointment online and the call to confirm the date was a little off putting but I kept a good attitude! They needed to get my insurance info before they would confirm the appointment. I asked if i could call it back in shortly as I was headed into a meeting- Immediate NO- they needed to info then and there. No problem! I gave it over the phone and assumed we were good. Four days later I get a call at 5 o clock as I was driving home stating they couldn't find the insurance info in their system and they needed it now. I pulled over to give them the info again and they had a typo the first time but after holding for awhile she said she located it and again I thought we were good! Next day at 530 pm! I get another phone call from their office. To state that I would have a fee for my contact lens exam. As I always pay more for that I was like okay? That's fine. She went on to say was I prepared to pay the fee and went on for a bit more. At this point I was just turned off- I felt like I was being spoken down to and that they wanted to be sure I could afford to go here. Now here's the thing- who wouldn't go in wanting to do a special exam, order new contacts and glasses and not expect to pay??? I felt they were more concerned about money than customer service or even giving me a chance to get in the door and I cancelled the appointment. I have never ever dealt with such weird service and such a condescending manner. It was annoying and guess what- I would rather drive to my old eye dr and shell out those coins!!!! read more

Having come from out-of-state to Maryland for college and tasked with learning how to be an adult, I was on the hunt for an optometrist who was covered under EyeMed. The moment I saw the pun-ny title, I knew I had to make an appointment here (yeah okay I checked a few reviews first, but the pun was the biggest factor). I received a few reminders requesting confirmation of my appointment prior to the day of. I'm sure this is appreciated by many. From the second I walked in, everyone was incredibly nice and personable. I have never been to a business with nicer staff. It was actually a little startling, but I felt comfortable right away. Each person was also really gracious about explaining each part of my eye exam and why it was being done, which I appreciated a lot. Dr. Generie was fantastic. The office itself is small, but everything looks really new and modern. It's located in Ellicott City, extremely close to Columbia. Overall, if you're looking for a new optometrist, I'd h-eye-ly (sorry, I tried) recommend revolutionEYES. read more

The office is cute and clean and you do get good care. I saw doctor Generie who was very thorough. I was in for both an eye exam and contact lens/ frame fitting. The selection of designer frames is pretty extensive given the small size of the store and I ended up walking away with a $400 pair of Ted Bakers which I love ( I knew I wanted a flashy pair going in). They explained all excess fees with the exception of the pair of contact lenses they let me travel home in. Ive never in the past paid for those but here they are $100 or $50 per contact, which I thought was extreme. My insurance did take some of that off, but that is the reason for the four star rating. read more

This was the best optometrist I have ever been to and I have needed glasses for the last 30 years. Everyone here was very professional and kind and friendly. The doctors really took their time to explain everything and answer every question that I had. They also have a wonderful selection of frames. It's usually hard for me to find anything that I like. The angles of my face can be difficult to work with sometimes to find anything that looks flattering but I actually found two pairs and so I got them both. Let's start from the beginning. You can either make an appointment by phone or on their website. The whole process is very quick. If there are any issues with your insurance, they call you to let you know right away and won't stop working on it until the problem is fixed. Everyone here is very friendly and easy to get along with. Dr. Dorsam makes it very easy to understand what tests she's doing, and why they are important to you. She also gave me some brilliant advice about lazy eyes that none of my previous doctors ever mentioned. Everything she said was straightforward and open, giving me plenty of options to think about without coming off as a pushy salesman. Another bonus, they have a line of frames specifically designed for Asians. This fits wonderfully around the nose, since most generic lines either pinch or slide down all the time. read more

As a new patient that has been to many different eye doctors over the decades, I can say that this was the most thorough exam I've ever had. Dr. Christina Generie was excellent. She took the time to explain the exam results and answer any questions about my eye health that I had. A very nice a professional person. The other staff were also very nice and pleasant. The optical store is small and had a limited selection. You can certainly find what you need and do one-stop shopping, but if you prefer designer frames and/or a large selection, you will not find it here. Pricing is on par with others, so no Costco pricing will be found. read more

Don't be fooled by their friendly demeanor, 5 star reviews, or clean office. These clowns have no idea what they're doing. I told the optometrist that my vision declined and the "genius" gave me the same exact prescription that I already had and yes the optometrist knew what my current prescription is. They also tried to con me into buying hundreds of dollars of services that I did not need. They seem to be inexperienced or trying to trick people to get unnecessary procedures. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. What a waste of time and money. read more

I honestly thought my son was exaggerating and prob didn't need glasses. The doctor there was very patient and did EVERYTHING in her power to figure things out. Did I mention how patient she was? The appt was 1.5hrs but when it was all said and done....my son was farsighted with astigmatism in both eyes. No unnecessary tests. No gimmicks to get more of my money. Just good honest business! The front office staff was amazing! They are simply the sweetest. Not sure how "expensive" their frames are but with my insurance I made out pretty good. It had been 10 years since my last eye exam and the whole experience was wonderful. I have really wide face and it's really hard for me to find a glasses that really fits me. But the young lady who helped me was very informative and found me a glasses that fit me well and also the style that I was looking for. (even though it turns out it's men's eyewear, I don't care. She thoroughly explained everything we talked about and had some good images to depict what she was explaining/seeing. Great service! I just went there for the first time and was very happy with the care and attention we received. Our middle school just got glasses for the first time and this can be a very stressful situation (especially for a middle school boy). They had a wide variety of frames and he left the place with a cool pair he liked. They were ready relatively fast, especially since they need to send them out.
