Great place to catch your breath on a cold winter's day. The facility is fairly large but the actual indoor space is a little quaint. Would love to check it out in the warmer months with the large patio space outside. I appreciate that they offer up the IBU as well as the alcohol content as it is easier to determine which beers you are going to enjoy. They seem to have a decent selection. Food options are very limited. Service was pretty standard for a local brewery. I would like to return once the weather breaks. read more

It is your average micro brewery. The beer is served, lukewarm not cold, not good. There's no restaurant food offered by the plier but, they always have food trucks outside. The place seems very dirty a lot of clutter and swept floors, walls, grounds outside trash blowing all over nothing's clean they got outdoor picnic tables which look inviting, but without umbrellas You're not even gonna sit there so then they got some ghetto chairs set up and a lawn area under a tree adjacent to the massive patio with all the picnic tables that no one sitting on because it's too hot. The tables inside are wobbly not wiped down. They should have a water station available as well for people. Not impressed read more

I went here for a book club last night and had never heard of it prior to that. They have a nice outdoor patio with string lights that I imagine would have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The inside itself is very small and does not have room for a large amount of people. That being said, it was perfect for a chill night out with friends if you are looking for somewhere that isn't too loud and crazy on a weeknight. I got a flight, and my favorite by far was the raspberry blonde ale! It was delicious and had a nice strong raspberry flavor. I also had their Midnight Cut, Executive Decision and Orange Agave. I do wish they had food in hour outside of just food trucks! There was no food truck when we were there and nothing to get inside either - bummer. read more

Great place on the bike trail in downtown Hamilton. We rode from waterworks park for about 5.5 miles and stopped at this brewery before turning back. (I need motivation lol.) Around the bend tucked into a garage type venue is an open draft brewery with canned seltzers etc to purchase. People were sitting on hi tops inside playing cards. This opens into a cement area with about 10 other picnic tables. Trees on both sides. A taco/burrito food truck was available The beer was mild and delicious. My friend and I ordered a Mexican and porter beer. Mexican was refreshing and porter sweet and mild. Definitely a return to spot. read more

The brewery space is really crowded and more and more, I find new breweries are pumping out some very average beer. That is not the case at Municipal Brew Works. Tucked into a former city building, the space has various seating options. On the Sunday we visited they were playing some music, the garage doors were open and people were enjoying a sunny day. We tried a flight that included the three ipas and a coffee porter. All were very good, and the double ipa was excellent. We drove up from Cincinnati and I'd say it's worth the drive. Talked to the owner and it seems that during the winter the place gets crowded, they're looking to add on more interior area. We really like that it's pet friendly, we took our dog and there were a few other ones there. I think more places should start becoming pet friendly. Municipal Brew Works is located in an old fire house, possibly the old municipality building. Weather permitting you'll find the garage doors open to the patio which allows for much more natural sunlight to shine in. They offer the usual flights, pints, swag for purchase and board games for entertainment. There are a few TV's if your here to catch a game a too. The bar keeps are usually pretty helpful in selecting beers if you are familiar with some of the style so ask if you need to. Each time I've been the vibe was completely chill and not crowded. This is a great spot in downtown Hamilton. It's perfect on a day with great weather, with garage doors that roll up to create an indoor/outdoor space. There is ample outdoor seating with a large patio space with Cornhole and picinic tables that seat large groups. I met up with friends that live in the area and we enjoyed the beer when we visited. The weather was gorgeous and atmosphere was very nice. This is a laid back place with good beer and a very friendly staff. read more

This is in a cool old building in downtown Hamilton. A fun space you can bring your friends and your pets to enjoy some beer and possibly a food truck located out front. Many beer choices, including rotating guest drafts. You can purchase snacks, dog treats, memorabilia, or borrow a board game from the shelf. The weather was too cold to open up the garage doors but that would have made the visit much more enjoyable. Inside, the space is small with some bar tables and low tables and some bar seating, but it was so busy it was standing room only and I felt like I was always in the way. Wowza! Totally worth the drive up north for us. We came while they were having a dog parade and adoption party. They were busy, slammed actually and we were lucky enough to find a couple of spots at the bar to belly up to. Even though they were incredibly busy, they still managed to be super friendly and very helpful. They were patient and answered any question we had before making our selections. We tried a couple of different styles and were very please with each one. Their beer is really, really good. Municipal has a great selection, something for everyone. What a beautiful building and set up this place has! It kind of looks like it belongs in Gotham City! The staff were really chill and friendly. They knew about their product and made recommendations for me. I tried a 4 beer flight that included their IPA, chocolate porter, anniversary brew and a pilsner. All of the beers were decent and the prices were fair. They have a BBQ food truck outside serving up goodies. I was in Hamilton for a friends family reunion and after the breakfast I walked across the street to this place. It was kid friendly and had games. There is indoor and outdoor seating. As of late, we've been venturing into different breweries and seeing such a variety of different layouts. This brewery was a quick stop on our way home from an afternoon of shopping in Monroe. Parking was easy, there was 1-2 different lots close by, but we found a spot on the road with meter rates. If I'm being honest, we went for the food truck! Being the foodies we are, we wanted to try M. A. D. D Marks as the food that is right up our alley. We went with the giant chicken quesadilla because how could you pass that up? She asked if we wanted the fixin's on the side and you bet I told her yes ma'am. We added a basket of fries because for $5, you can't beat that. We got ranch and bacon on top of those! Boy oh boy were those good. You know when you order something with bacon on it and how it's usually skimpy on the bacon, well this wasn't. They smothered the bacon on and loaded us up! We took a stroll inside the one of a kind brewery and were very impressed with such a neat design. It felt like a laid back, everyone's welcomed kinda vibe and we loved it. It was kid and dog friendly which is always a plus for families! We didn't grab a beer this time around as we were just hungry but will definitely try one next time! read more

Municipal Brew Works is in such a great space that spills out of two huge garage doors onto the driveway that they use as a huge patio with picnic tables. On this particular evening they had a hot dog cart if you were hungry. We stopped by for a few pints, prior to dinner, so we did not try out the hot dogs. I would suggest trying the Scout IPA, Walk in The Park (Pilsner - Czech), and True West Coffee Porter. All had two thumbs up from our group. They do sell pint glass coozies at the brewery. While sitting on the patio you could tell all the regular patrons because they all had a different color coozie. So of course I had to buy one. Cute idea. I enjoyed the beer and the lively atmosphere at Municipal. Stop by and give them a try yourself, I think you'll be pleased. Oh and she seemed very welcome on the patio. Hamilton is coming back and Municipal Brew Works has been part of the city's revitalization. The beer, the atmosphere, and the friendly service can't be beat at this place. They have +\- 15 beers on tap, serving plenty of varieties. I've not tasted a bad beer here yet. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors they have picnic and patio tables and a few benches. The patio area is lighted and you sit just yards away from the river. On most nights, folks of all ages and backgrounds can be found enjoying their brews and taking it easy. The servers here are friendly and know their product. It's quite refreshing to hear knowledgeable answers to questions about their different brews. If you like craft beer, live near Hamilton, and have not been to Municipal you're doing yourself a disservice. Stop by and give them a try. read more

Of course they did. I also checked on the food. Not only do they have a food truck sitting out front (very convenient) there are also restaurants that will deliver directly there. Zach was the first bartender I met. He was incredibly helpful. The brewery itself is really nice. The beers are excellent. All of the staff is wonderful. I only have one small complaint. They were doing a thing called Sing-o. There's a cross between a name that tune and bingo. The complaint? The songs this particular night we're from the 2000s. I guess I'm getting old. I did not know any of them at all. I am so sad. The staff and the customers were all incredibly friendly and having a great time. The beers were all fantastic even the types I don't normally drink. Great beer and neat place. Been twice and plan on going back. Plenty of close parking, only chips sold there, but that seams to be the norm....but there is always a different food truck nightly. They keep a list at the bar to let you know the different truck they will have throughout the week. Back again, got a flight which I love, 4 nice size samples for only $8. Great to get a nice taste of all their flavors. Side note, had bee's BBQ there...we didn't eat anything, but people were raving about how good it was. Municipal Brew Works is kind of neat because it feels like a party and you don't have to be invited to go. There are a bunch of seats outside. Then there are huge garage doors that lead to the indoors. Inside is sort of dark. You can see the giant tanks of beer looming in the dark, behind the bar. It's a little eerie in a cool way. We arrived around 5:30 and the place was bursting. The last Wotermelon Ale was served just as we were trying to order them. A huge disappointment. I guess that's how you keep people coming back. Instead I had an Approachable Blonde Ale and my friend had the darkest and most alcoholic beer, whatever that was. I'm not the hugest beer person. I was excited for watermelon beer in the summer and supporting a brewery bringing new business in Hamilton. But The Approachable Blonde was pretty good. Light but not watery. There seemed to be a spicy finish to it. I offered it to my friend to try but he drank half my glass. I don't know if that was pleasure or meanness, but we each had a second glass of our chosen drink. I heard some people there saying they'd been there every day since opening. It seemed like a sort of diverse crowd. Some older, hippie looking types. A soccer mom family. An annoying, young smoker blowing smoke on half the tables. A few gamer looking guys. Games are available. There is a small station of games. I'm sure the later it gets, the more the crowd changes, too. There was also a little barbecue place set up next to the brewery. I'm curious how the brewery handles cold weather. Heat lamps? Close off the outdoor seating? Build temporary, heated tents? Also, I wish they'd have a smoker's box or table. One guy smoked a e-cigarette then a couple cigars all night and I could see the people behind him staring daggers but there was no where to go and he was king oblivious. They sell Hamilton water here instead of other brands. More local places should sell it. I have no idea why they don't. You have to go to the bar to get it. Also, and I guess I want this from all the new stuff in Hamilton, I wish they'd have a food day of something vegetarian/vegan friendly. Hummus? Everyone loves hummus. Good Beer nearby! I live within 15 minutes of this little spot, so I probably have a bias. I have been in no less than a couple of dozen times. I am a craft beer fan, and their Approachable Blonde and Woltermelon Ales are beers that my wife ( not usually a beer fan) can easily drink. We stop in for a beer or two from time to time when the weather is good and sit outside. Their indoor seating is somewhat limited as of now. The beers are good. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and there are often Dogs outside and they are permitted in the outdoor seating area. The only improvement I would ask for is a posting of what food trucks are going to be there on certain days (I would ask that of any taproom) so that you know beforehand. Located directly across the street from the Courtyard Marriott in Hamilton, it's literally a stones throw if you're staying in that hotel which is such a nice feature. Great patio with lots of room and games to play while you're hanging around. Smaller inside but everyone wanted to be on the patio anyway. And doggy friendly which we love. Quite a few beers on tap, and since this was our first visit we decided to each get a flight. Flights IMO are the best way to try lots of beers. The only downfall is that if you don't drink fast, by the fourth beer, it could be a little warm in these hot summer nights. Happy with everything I picked but my favorite was the Approachable Blonde and Kevin's favorite was the Station 2. They also have seasonal brews - some served in a pint glass and some served in a snifter glass which was a nice touch. Rotating food trucks are a constant and I had to chuckle because when we were there, it was Kismet that there was also a donut food truck there. I'm telling you, donuts follow me every where. Only negative was the BUGS!!! We were being eaten alive by the bugs. It had gotten so bad that I didn't think we could stay much longer when a patron next to us offered her bug spray. An employee that knew you HAD to have bug spray was our lifesaver. So if you head this way make sure to bring bug spray. I'm not kidding - don't forget the bug spray!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
