Drove by a few times and with the winter season giving way to spring weather, I stopped by to enjoy a pint out on their patio area. A family oriented place with kids running around like chickens without a head. A great place for parents to knock back a few and let the kids get it out of the system. The beer selection is decent and the food average-ly good. I went with the cincy staple of cheese cones. Nathan beef franks with onions chili and cheese. Yup. Good stuff. The food was good although not the place if you wanted a chill place to enjoy the evening with the setting sun due to the kids running around. No fault of the establishment but mu preference. Any rate a good place with decent food that I would pay for. It was almost a 4 star but not quite. So a 3.5. It was a good dunkel beer. Such a great place to meet up with friends. They have a dog-friendly patio and plenty of outdoor seating. Both the beer and food is good. It was the first day of spring and it was warm out, so High Grain in Brentwood was hopping! We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, we couldn't find any seat outside but even though inside was very busy as well, there were quite a few open tables. This place is huge! We ordered our dinners and drinks at the bar, the bartender handed us our drinks and a number for our table and we sat down and relaxed as we waited for our food to come out. Even though the were slammed, our food came out in about 20 minutes. I got a salad that was delicious and my husband got the wings, which he liked as well. read more

Love my neighborhood brewery. Sometimes it can be a bit loud, but what brewery isn't!? There's a lot of seating inside, outside, hi tops or low. There's always a game or three to watch and it's easy to pop in for a quick drink or bite or sit and hang a while. Love the feel of the place large patio that was overflowing on a sunny Saturday. The inside is cool with plenty of tables and TV's for March madness. I love that they had the Girl Scouts in to sell cookies and a pop up bakery. Solid beer selection and still had a few dark beers available. I had the smoked wings with habanero sauce. I am shocked that I have never been before. As a lover of breweries, beer, and good food I adored this place. I went with my boss for an early dinner and we got a large assortment of foods. We got the deluxe fried chicken sammy, quesadillas, cheese curds, and a delicous burrata salad. All of it was super good. The bread on the sandwich was amazing, and the breading on the chicken was flavorful and crunchy. As a Wisconsinite, the cheese curds are most definitely approved! They were crunchy and creamy, and the house made ranch made it 10x better. The service was amazing, I didn't interact a ton with the employees but the gm said hi to us and was very nice and friendly. The space itself is very large and has a lot of seating. Theres a pool table in the back that I will have to try next time I go, as well as the bakery desserts from a local vendor that I didn't try. Went here for the Kentucky Derby. There was a nice crowd. Lots of TV's to watch the race on. Lots of people having parties here. The outdoor space looked awesome. We had the pretzel, cheese curds, ranch brined chicken sandwich, and fries. The highlight was the cheese curds. Not sure how a Wisconsin purist would feel about these cheese curds because they are cubed shape. However I was a big fan of them. Good ranch for dipping. Service was good. A friend of mine stopped in here and shared pics. I didn't realize Brentwood Bowl and been reimagined until I saw her pictures. My dad was in a bowling league and I spent a lot of time in this building as a child. I couldn't wait to see what they'd done to the place. There's no doubt the place no longer looks like Brentwood Bowl, but I was pleased to see a few pieces of memorabilia inside. We were there during the week at lunchtime and it was pretty empty. We opted to sit at the bar. The bartender/server was very nice and helpful. I opted to build my own flight and our bartender was instrumental in helping me choose which four brews to try. Mark and I started with Pretzels and Beer Cheese. They weren't great, but they hit the spot. We both ordered the Ranch Brined Fried Chicken Sandwich, though I had mine grilled. The sandwiches were not extraordinary, but they were good. I'd say they offer solid bar food. We haven't been back; it's a bit of a drive. My sister is coming into town in May. We might have to bring her here for a little trip down memory lane. read more

We are so excited to have this High Grain location close to home. We visited on a Friday night at dinnertime and it was more crowded than we'd ever seen- but we still found parking (there is enough) and had our choice of spots inside or outside to sit. The patio is awesome, and there were lots of other families with kids enjoying the space. The one downside is that you don't have access to a menu, you use your phone to see the menu and then order at the bar. The QR code on our table was worn and couldn't be read so we just googled the menu. I guess this is good for waste and so the menu is updated easily, but it was just an extra step and we left our phones in the car so it was a little clunky and my older mother in law found ordering off the small screen a little tricky. The food is amazing! My mother in law said the burger was the best she'd had in years! I loved the deluxe chicken sandwich- ordered it without cheese, and the soft bun and house pickles were delicious! My husband got the pulled pork quesadilla and also really enjoyed it. The sandwiches do not come with sides so we ordered fries for the table and 2 orders were the right amount. The prices are okay, and seemed normal considering the high food quality. But we saw the lunch deal advertised- $12 for NA drink, side, and sandwich- and that is a sweet deal that we want to come back for! We'll come back again and again. We will always bring visitors too. Despite being crowded we were served quickly and everything was on point. Thanks for being a dependable and fun option for many audiences, High Grain! I placed my order at 3:12 p.m., right after they opened at 3:00. I walked in and the restaurant was empty and clean. I was greeted right away by the person at the bar and she went to get my order. When I got home and opened the food, both burgers were hot, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The fries were okay. The problem was the wings. They were not fresh. They tasted a couple of days old, they were dry, and there was barely any garlic Parmesan on them. My guest was disappointed because she does not eat beef, so the wings were her only option. I live down the street, so this was disappointing. I am not sure I will go back after this. Check your food before leaving this restaurant. read more

What an exciting space! Plenty of parking. I was surprised to learned that they made four different wines. I tried the white and rise and both were excellent. The waitress was great and food came hot and quickly. The food is a la cart. There is a lunch special with sandwich side and non alcoholic beverage. My order was 21$ with tip. Visited for a work event last week. I came away pretty impressed with the food. For a brewery, everything we tried was solid.: Nachos, Hot Honey Wings, and especially the Garlic Cheddar Cheese Curds were on point. I thought they had a good selection of beers including the Lusen, Isar Weiss, and Graf Lime. Even the Limo cocktails were pretty good. The best beer had to be their Light Lager. Service was pretty on top of it. They were well-staffed and had plenty of friendly folks to take orders. I like that they preserved some of the bowling alley atmosphere from Brentwood, but not keeping a lane or two for entertainment seems like a missed opportunity. The night we were there, they had a Jeopardy style trivia that was fun, but we didn't fully participate since we knew we couldn't stay for the whole thing. Graphic Design on the beer signs could have been stronger - I wasn't sure what was the drink name and what was a description of the beer style. It was a little inconsistent. Overall, it seemed like a cool spot and they had ample parking. It's not a huge trek for me, so we likely will be back. read more

Another big warehouse space turned into a brewery. Nothing in the decor or vibe really sets this one apart from any of the others in the greater city area. I tried two beers and wasn't terribly impressed. They were good but not standouts, though I'd be more than willing to go back and try more. Didn't try the food while we were there. Service was friendly and helpful, the place was pretty clean. It's clearly a community gathering spot as there were a lot of families and children, so it got pretty loud, which isn't my favorite vibe to relax with a beer. I have friends who live in that area though, so very likely I'll go back and give it another shot. read more

Burgers were creative but the actual buns and patties aren't anything to write home about (thus not the 5 star rating). Pretzel sticks were pretty good too. "Rainy Day Brewery Escapade: High Grain Brewing Edition" Me and my fiancée decided to combat the rainy day blues by doing what any responsible adults would do -- go to a random brewery for food. Enter High Grain Brewing, where the drinks are cold, the vibes are warm, and apparently, the building is sponsored by whoever builds airplane hangars. Seriously, it's huge. First things first, they're not playing around with their beverages. We tried some THC drinks, and let's just say we reached a perfect state of "chill but still aware enough to play pool without embarrassing ourselves." Speaking of which, they've got two pool tables, plus games for the kids if you bring 'em along. Family-friendly with a side of "let's pretend we're still young and cool." Now, the food. You know how breweries often serve meals that taste like they were cooked by someone who thinks salt is a personality trait? Not here. High Grain actually serves delicious food. The Chicken Sandwich? Juicy, crispy, and confidence-boosting. The fries came in a portion so large I briefly wondered if they mistook me for a competitive eater. And the Chickpea Wrap? Fresh, tasty, and healthy enough that I convinced myself I was making good life choices. The atmosphere is laid-back, the service is friendly, and the whole place has the energy of that cool cousin who always knows where the fun is. Gotta start with the beer. High grain continues to have high quality options. I've been able to mix it up with their selection whenever I've been in. We really enjoyed the wings (with all the sauces) and the buffalo cauliflower as well. Their location here on Winton Rd. has been a great addition to Springfield Township. The staff have been friendly and helpful, and the space has a number of touches that tie back to the Brentwood bowl. It really seems like they have engaged the community which is awesome to see. Hung out here for a bit to work remotely. Got a latte and pastry from La Terza at first. That was lovely. Then, after a couple hours, I got a side salad with ranch and a side of macaroni and cheese. It was yummy! They have that good ranch that tastes homemade. (I'm assuming it probably is) The mac and cheese was a little runny at first, but after it cooled down it was a good consistency. When looking for a place to watch the Bengals game, you should consider the new High Grain Brewing location. The former Brentwood Bowl has now been converted into a bright, modern taproom with a great menu and lots of TVs. We were easily able to find a table and place food and drink orders at the bar. Our family shared the sheet pan nachos with chicken and the pretzels with beer cheese. I personally selected the ranch-brined fried chicken sandwich and it was truly one of the best I have ever had. The sandwich was SO flavorful and the hot honey, mayo, pickle and bacon perfectly complimented the chicken. To drink I had the Natalie, which was a light fruity sour with a strawberry-lemonade note. The chicken sandwich was fantastic, did a happy dance with each bite. The chopped cheese was delicious as well, would have been perfect with a bit of seasoning on the meat. My husband and I met friends at Highgrain for dinner. We had a very nice time. We ordered the pimento mac & cheese (GREAT value for $5), fries (another great value for $5), wings with Pale Ale BBQ and ranch, and smoked cauliflower with hot honey & ranch. The mac and cheese was BOMB. Some of the best in Cincy, hands down. The fries were good-- what you'd expect for seasoned waffle fries. They were most delicious when dipped in the INCREDIBLE housemade ranch. The smoked cauliflower was good and I would get it again. The hot honey paired surprisingly perfectly with the ranch. The wings had great flavor, but weren't cooked well. The skin was rather chewy, which didn't make for a great experience eating them. However, last time I had them, they were crispy and perfect, so I will definitely try them again another time to see if that was just an off batch. I tried some of the limo water and LOVED it. Like a refreshing, non-sweet sparkling lmeonade. Love to see HighGrain having fun non-alcoholic drinks. I don't recommend sitting near the bathrooms/coffee shop as that is where the air hockey table is, and the noise echoes pretty badly. Bartenders were all friendly and helpful - I spoke with three different bartenders and told them what I like and asked for recommendations, and they all steered me right and one provided interesting tidbits (history lessons, trivia) in addition to their good advice. Even though the place was busy, none of the bartenders were brusque or made me feel rushed. I appreciated the variety of beers - I tried both a pineapple sour (there were three sours to choose from) and a barrel aged stout (one of four available) which were both good, and my husband enjoyed a flight with an IPA, Dunkel, Pilsner, and and Belgian Golden Ale, and they were all decent. The food was ok, but nothing special. The space is large and open, so even though there were a lot of people it didn't feel too closed in. It was loud, but not uncomfortablely so.
