This was our second museum visit of the summer while my sister is staying with me. I feel like they've added so many new exhibits since my last visit, or maybe I just rushed through everything back then. This time, I really took my time reading about the artwork and exhibits, and it made the experience so much more fascinating. Each floor had its own unique collections and displays to explore. My favorite part was the Chinese vases exhibit. I don't remember seeing it before, and it was incredibly interesting. It was something completely new to me and definitely stood out during the visit. It was a little warm inside, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a wonderful time. I definitely plan on bringing my other sisters here in the future. Highly recommend checking it out, especially on the free admission days!

There is a public parking lot down from the museum on the corner of West Market Street and South Alamo Street. One may think, why go to a Western museum, but it's more than just Western information. This museum tells the story of how Texas became Texas. The various tidbits of information were just great, like who knew that in New Spain, Franciscan friars were the first missionaries playing a huge role in evangelizing. If you're even a little curious about how Catholicism plays a role in history, this museum answers those questions and offers insight. They also have an area for Selena. I thought there would be more info about her in that area, but I definitely loved seeing photos from the photographer's own collection. The museum is definitely worth checking out! They also have information for free field trips and various community days with additional activities. The staff to include the security is very knowledgeable about the museum as well.

The place has really opened up their space- it used to be crowded with a maze of tight cubicles of gallery and studios. Now, it's a wide open central gallery, with studios and smaller galleries off to the sides. In the front, they now have a coffee shop! Cool! In the back, they've paved in the side and back yards, where bands set up, and additional galleries can be found. All of the art is local, handmade, and ranges in media. Some of the art can not be purchased, as they are installation pieces. The art here is all reasonably priced, and there's a great variety of artists and vendors selling cool stuff. This place gets hopping for Second Saturday, a monthly art walk that centers around the galleries by the train tracks at South Flores. The art is just part of the scene- check out the live music too! Budding artists can rent space here to do their art, and sell it when they have events. Other than Second Saturday, you might need to book an appointment to come by many of the artists' galleries, but it seems that coffee is served all day.

I was very impressed with the smoothness of the tour & how it flowed throughout the day. It began at 11:00 am. & ended at 5:00 pm. Every Brewery we went to, we got to sample the drinks, and drink as much as we wanted all while having our DD ( craft cruiser shuttle us around town ). It was absolutely wonderful. I would definitely go on this with several buddies of mine who are beer drinkers. They also have wine tours as well! It was a clean, organized, and efficient tour with a knowledgeable operator.
