I am not sure how many customer service-illiterates Murdoch's thinks they need to close its doors in a few years, but, after several visits to this location, they are determined to find out. There is a sweeping ignorance of basic customer communications skills. As examples... one clerk was unwilling to move her feet to look beyond the computer screen to find an item their website claimed they were supposed to have on hand. A clerk interrupts me talking to another clerk because she wants to tell her about her weekend. And the best was when a clerk walked between me and the aisle where I was looking so he could find something for a clerk on the radio - clearly more important that me or anything I was actually looking for. They carry a nice variety of quality products and mostly reasonable prices. If it weren't for their selection, this would be a 1-star review - no doubt about it. Their parking lot would be fine for trucks (like most of their customers drive) but then they poke the lot full of items on "display" that makes parking stupid. And the loadout area in the back must have been an after thought because of the piles and piles of stuff and narrow walk way from the driveway to the load door. My wife and I were visiting Bozeman on vacation. We happened to meet Murdoch employee Vickie Collea while havind dinner at a local restaurant. Vickie works in the clothing department at Murdochs. She is a terrific ambassador for Murdochs and just a delighful charasmatic person. Murdochs needs to find more like her. She sold us on Murdochs. A real treasure. My wife and I just met Vickie Collea I'm Bozeman while here on vacation.. She told us all about Murdocks and how wonderful it is. Highly recommend it. Horrible customer service at this store. Bought a jacket while visiting and washed it. Fuzz all over it and I will never wear it again and they would not let me return jacket. I will never shop here again!! read more

I go to Murdoch's for seed, tools, Wranglers, shotgun shells, dog food, pet supplies, reloading and most of all, the free popcorn ! It is usually my last stop before leaving Bozeman. read more

I did get a call back, and an apology from the Asst Store Manager. My next visit was the opposite experience: attentive, super helpful store clerk. I ended up picking up my electric chainsaw and buying other power tools and more stuff for the ranch. Kudos to Murdoch's for a very professional reaction, and thanks to Dick in the store and Asst Store Mgr Alexis for their great help. I've been back already a couple of times and aim to become a loyal customer ! read more

Murdochs Belgrade used to be my favorite store - until today. I just was there and tried on 10+ things. I had to beg someone for a dressing room and she was irritated when she had to carry a few things to me. I asked another lady if she had a top I liked in other colors when I was in dressing rooms. She basically told me to go look myself. Ok! I did! Fine. I'm pretty mad by now. I used to own a clothing store and I know customer service and this was not it. My plan was to go to cashier, set my 5 purchases down, tell her the ladies in clothing are extremely rude and unhelpful and ask her to hold my purchases for one minute - as I saw one more thing I wanted to try on. Never even got my complaint out. I just asked her if I could set my purchases down for one minute and she Rolled her eyes and said "Ya, I guess." Am I getting punked? I had to leave the store. I could not purchase one thing from these people and As I said.... This used to be my favorite store. The Bozeman store has never treated me that way. They go out of their way to be helpful so I will go there from now on. I know no one at Murdochs cares but it made me feel better to put this on Yelp. read more

Just visited the Bozeman store for the first time and loved it! Nice, helpful people, nice quality merchandise. Clothing seemed a little bit pricey and the ladies' sizes ran small (Asian sizing since many things were made in Asia?) but we will definitely be back. read more
