In return, we give back: annual trash pickups, painting over graffiti, planting native trees and shrubs, installing plaques, etc. It's a great partnership. We utilize the trails to ID plants, analyze water quality in Cedar Creek, catch insects, use the field for large activities... It's really helpful. Plus, there's a decent bathroom and a great play structure if we finish a lesson early.

The main trail, before breaking off into other small ones, is paved. We parked in the residential area to begin the walk. We then broke off to go into the woods. It was a very short loop, but it was SO beautiful, especially during the fall season. It's a popular spot to exercise and take your kids to.

The is also a path of crushed granite that winds through a short forest area that is nice. My wife doesn't like the sound of the crunching rocks on the path. They are fine with me. We have seen some great wildflowers and many deer that hang out here. It's not that large of a park, but a nice walk. If it is really hot out, the paved path has no shade so don't do it mid day if you don't like the heat.

When we moved five years ago to Wilsonville, one of the highlights of this town are its open spaces and how family-friendly it is. This is just one of many parks in town. It's expansive too! It is located right across the street from the library and they offer so much-- water play (Murase Plaza), structured play, event spaces, nature play, tennis courts, soccer and baseball field, skate park, nature trails, disc golf, and fishing/boat dock. It is also stunning during the fall season with the trees in orange, red, and yellow. Parks and Rec are always maintaining this place. The latest addition to the park is the natural playground, and that is where we took our toddler recently. She LOVED it. She made some friends pretending to fish in the canoe and hang out in the teepees. The sand pit is a big hit too. Whether you're a family visiting or a local, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Many can walk around, bring their own boats/kayaks/SUP to launch off the ramp, fish on the river, or have a picnic. It's beautiful here, but it's also very popular over the summer months when folks want to use this place to launch off the ramp. Parking is hard to find. At this spot, you can rent through the Tualatin Riverkeepers. They provided life vests and the kayak of our choice. It was great paddling out on the water with my kid. We stayed pretty close by, so the water was really calm and beginner friendly. We didn't venture past the freeway underpass, we went to the right side from the boat launch. Some parts are so shallow you hit some rocks. This park also offers soccer fields and an updated inclusive family playground. Highly recommend coming here.

We used to…read morelive in the neighborhood until our recent move, so we could just walk down the hill, put a little pepperoni on a hook and reel them in (see photo). My husband was actually very ambitious and constructed a crawdad trap, but I think the hook works just as well. My youngest boy is obsessed with fishing so this provided hours of entertainment and a nice outing for father and son. This is a very natural park that was created in a flood plane. No playgrounds here. Just a park with wetlands and a prairie with natural grass for walking your dog, jogging, fishing or launching your canoe or kayak from the pier. Great birdwatching as well. The city was able to buy up a lot of riverfront property (due to said flood plane) so over the past five years the park has continued to expand. It was a very smart move since the Tualatin River flooded the banks at least four times in the ten years I lived in the neighborhood and water would extend all the way to (or across) Nyberg Lane. This park is also the site of a wonderful arts camp for kids, Willowbrook, in the summer months and Alder Creek operates a canoe and kayak rental from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Don't forget your pepperoni!
