I contacted EuroFix Murfreesboro for a general price range to replace the rear brake pads and rotors, which I already know the vehicle needs--no diagnostic testing was necessary. The gentleman I spoke with repeatedly stated that EuroFix does not provide quotes over the phone because the cost depends on "the type of brakes it needs." I understand that the exact price may vary depending on the parts used, but a shop specializing in European vehicles should be able to provide a reasonable range based on the year and model. I wasn't asking for a guaranteed final price--just enough information to determine whether scheduling an appointment made sense. The lack of pricing transparency was especially frustrating considering the Volvo dealership clearly publishes its service pricing. This experience did not give me the confidence to bring my vehicle to EuroFix for service.

This is a drive thru smog check station, so just wait in your car until a lane is clear. The cost is $9 and they take cash or card. Not to happy about this, but masks seem to be an optional thing for customers here, but mandatory for employees. You can also get your tags here so you don't have to head to the county clerks office. Last time I went there, I had to loop around for parking, I engaged in no pleasant conversation and I waited a half hour. As soon as I hit 'send' on that review I regretted it and experience has borne that feeling out to be the correct one. So why am I engaging in the same sort of self-sabotage? I dunno. I must be a glutton for punishment. I don't quite believe that everyone has to undergo a smog check before getting to renew their license/vehicle registration. With the amount of loud revving, black-smoke-kicking-up Mad Max vehicles I see in Middle Tennessee, either I am the only one falling for this scam or there are a lot of people driving illegally -- because there's no way those cars passed inspection. So, back to Dickerson. This smog station is a welcome respite from the long lines and bad attitudes of other ones. If you live out east, you should be coming here. Actually, if you live in Davidson County, you should be coming here. It's worth the drive. Even though the wait has increased (slightly) in the four years I've been coming here, it's not as bad as other locations. And the wait comes from the amount of cars, not from the techs -- all of who have been kind, efficient and speedy. Come with cash, your papers and a (relatively) clean car and you should be in and out in under ten minutes. As long as vehicle emissions are a thing (and considering it's 90 degrees in October, it should be a thing), you should try and make the process as efficient and painless as possible. Lines were onto the street and I decided I'd go to another one after checking www.nashvillevip.org (the Vehicle Inspection Program website) for estimated wait times it said this particular station was in the 12 minutes range. Wandered over, inspected, in and out and ordered replacement stickers at the place all in about 17 minutes. Cleanest inspection station I've been at as well, and seemed pretty fast paced in comparison.
