While the care was sometimes OK to decent from Star of My Heart for my Aunt over the past few years…read more(she just passed away at age 99), it was often very bad and the owner of the agency was difficult to deal with (very pushy, always trying to just show things reflecting well on herself and not things reflecting poorly on her, and did not like to listen to input from the family or friends or even my Aunt). There was tremendous turnover of the caregivers, as Star of My Heart pays its caregivers very very little (I was told by several of the caregivers that their pay was $100 per day for living in the home and working 12 hours per day with no benefits or tax withholding, a small fraction of what we paid to Star of My Heart). The final straw was the 5 pieces of missing jewelry, including two rings with gemstones and of great sentimental and financial value. I would suggest that you also look at the Maryland court records for the owner of this business (I wish I had before). The lady who treated me was super nice and explained the technique they use to put the crystals back in place. It was totally non-invasive and really easy. With just 15 minutes she did a session in which I no longer had vertigo. I was in shock. It was just one session. I've visited the office twice and both times Dr. Marmon failed to mention that my son will need clearances from anesthesia and neurosurgery, but he wrote it in his note. I asked him about it and he said it's fine and that he'll contact those specialties directly and discuss my son's case. I had nothing to worry about, so I thought. So my son was scheduled for surgery today; however, it was cancelled last minute. The only way I found out about the cancellation was after several phone calls. Smh. Two days ago I called and the office staff told me everything was good to go and someone will call me the day before surgery to inform of a time. That call never happened.

From our initial visit to our follow-up, Dr. Marmon was a consummate professional and addressed all of our concerns. The circumcision itself went very well and the post-op instructions were clear and thorough. We were worried going in because we knew a couple families who needed revisions for their sons, but we felt very comfortable with Dr. Marmon. As someone in healthcare myself, I recommend Dr. Marmon both for his clinical skill as well as his bedside manner. He is succinct but thorough and overall speaks of strong competence. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a doctor for a circumcision and I suspect that his strengths transfer to other areas/procedures as well.

They have been nothing but incapable, full of excuses for not staffing for my Dad's care, to out and out lying to me (in my opinion - and according to at least 5 caregivers who did come out to our house). Their biggest problem, in my opinion, is their scheduler - Katie - who obviously doesn't know how to schedule, has no compassion for the clients, has a million and one excuses, and couldn't care less if clients are staffed. After the most outrageous excuses you could ever hear for why the health aides couldn't show up to just out and out not caring to listen to any of our concerns, I wouldn't let them care for my worst enemy. Part of the problem is that no one wants to work anymore, yes, but again the biggest part is having someone who doesn't give a damn if they put clients in a bind or leave their clients without coverage altogether. Oh, and before they try to blast me here, yes I have raised my voice more than once when I've scheduled appointments around their scheduled timeframe only to find out last minute that they had no one to take care of my Dad and made their 1,000,001th excuse. You're damned right I am going to yell and raise my voice because I am sick of being caught in a bind because of their incompetence.
