Stew Chicken Plate, with rice and peas and mix veggies
Apex S.

Um WOW. This was incredible. One of the best tasting meals I've had in a while. This option just came up on one of the delivery apps and I decided to try it out. Got the jerk Mac and cheese, chicken patty, side of plantains, stew chicken with rice and peas and veggies. The Mac and cheese blew our mind and also had steam coming out of our ears. That is spicyyyy. The chicken patty was stuffed with minced chicken, a little unexpected, but tasty nonetheless. Good ratio of outer covering to inner filling. The plantains were sweet and caramelized (and went so well with the Mac and cheese). The stew chicken plate including the rice and peas and the veggies were delicious too. Chicken was well cooked, the rice was flavorful and so were the mixed veggies (I mean how was it this tasty?! I could not figure out their secret!). As other yelpers have mentioned, a little more sauce with the chicken would be nice cuz the chicken was almost like grilled chicken vs a stew. The food arrived rather quickly after we placed our order. My only complaint would be that they served the food in styrofoam containers one of which opened in the plastic bag and spilled all over, which was unfortunate. Plastic containers with tight lids may be better for certain dishes.

Oxtail Rasta Pasta

This was so good! Stayed with a friend in Boston and the first place she recommended was Murl's. No complaints. The plate was full, the pasta was flavorful, the delivery was smooth. I'll definitely be going back for more.

The pasta came out quick despite them being very busy. The building itself is pretty small and not meant to be a sit down experience. The cashier was kind and patient. We came in just for the mac and cheese but I also got a side of jerk chicken which was amazing. I finished both things within like 15 minutes and felt healthily satiated. The macaroni was flavorful, creamy, and cheesy. The price is also amazing for the serving size that you recieve. 10/10 experience, will definitely be going back more often when I'm in Boston.

Food was SO GOOD! The store is pretty small and lots of customers, so pretty packed inside. No seating there, mostly takeout and delivery. We got the curry goat plate and it was so tender, fall off the bone. Chicken patty was also enjoyable and only $2.50! Mac and cheese insanely flavorful with hella spices in it.

Brown stew chicken + rice and plantains

Solid Jamaican spot! We tried the brown stew chicken, oxtails, and jerk mac n cheese. Both the chicken and the oxtail were super tender and flavorful. The rice and beans were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor too. My one complaint is that I wish the brown stew chicken had more sauce for the rice to soak up. The jerk mac n cheese was creamy and had good spices, it reminded me of Cajun pasta. This place is takeout only and I would highly recommend ordering ahead of time and picking it up. It was very busy when we went and the wait seemed long.

This is a no sit down place with a line- which I took as a good sign. The line moved quickly and we didn't wait long, even on a Friday night! Important note- they were out of jerk Mac and cheese at 7pm on a Friday! The cashier told me that was very normal. I loved my jerk chicken + rice and plantains so much that I went back a second time on a week night just for the jerk Mac and cheese and let me tell you IT WAS WORTH IT. Take my advice - try this place ASAP.

As you can see, I'm a frequent flyer! The sauce the comes with the chicken wings is great, reminds me of sweet heat.

The food was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and full of flavor! The service was also excellent. Friendly, attentive, and fast.

This was my first time a good friend of mine's brought me here and, I ordered the jerk chicken pasta. It was a big plate so don't even worry about how much you will receive! And let me not forget the pineapple ginger drink ! A1

Great local restaurant for Jamaican food. The oxtail and rice was flavorful. I will be back to try other plates.

Jamaica Mi Hungry - Pulled Jerk Pork entree with sides of Mac N' Cheese and Brussel Sprouts

I got the jerk chicken with fried plantains and rice. The sides were freaking amazing. The fried plantains were so crispy and I could eat them all day. The rice was also delicious because it was a little sweet and had some coconut flavor too. The jerk chicken itself was great. It was more of a saucy jerk chicken instead of a dry rub, but it tasted really tender and flavorful. It was a little pricey for $~18, but I think it's worth it. It was a lot of food and I ended up having leftovers to take home for dinner. A few days later, and I still craved that chicken, plantain, and coconut rice combo. Can't wait to go back!

Some highlights: Garlic shrimp - these were huge and juicy with the perfect amount of garlic flavor. Having this on the rice and beans was heaven on a place and I had several helpings of this! Chicken - this was a little spicy for me, but that's just a personal preference. I could tell that this was well seasoned and people more tolerant to spice would love this - the chicken was still juicy and saucy. This also pairs well with the rice and beans! Plantains - nothing over the top but a nice sweeter bite to balance out the plate. Yummy! Mac n cheese - this was one I wasn't super crazy about - I think a bit more cheese would have been nice here but it wasn't a bad bite. All in all, 4/5 as there were some dishes that didn't blow me away, but the garlic shrimp with the rice and beans is to die for. Would happily have this again or go to the food truck location to order it!

It's a small, family-owned restaurant that's half Filipino and half Jamaican, run by a Filipino Tita and her Jamaican husband. She learned how to cook Jamaican food to remind him of home, which honestly makes the whole place feel even more meaningful. The Filipino dishes I tried were authentic and tasted homemade -- the kind of food that feels like it came straight out of your auntie's kitchen. The Jamaican food was also delicious (I can't personally vouch for authenticity there), but everything we had was flavorful and satisfying. It's a great, casual, order at the counter spot -- and it's right next to a Filipino market, which makes the experience even better. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones that represent my culture. Bright Light is the kind of place that deserves the love.

The restaurant is located right on the corner, with limited street parking and a small lot in the back. It's a cozy, casual place offering Filipino cuisine with a touch of Jamaican flavor. There's a comfortable dine-in area with several tables, and takeout is also available. The food was clearly fresh and homemade, and everything we tried was excellent. I had the jerk chicken, which was flavorful and well-prepared, but I was especially excited to try the Filipino dishes. I sampled a few different options, and each one was delicious and authentic. If you're in the area and looking for a unique mix of Filipino and Jamaican food, this spot is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended. .

This price range is more close to the city price range. The lamb shank is flavorful, the salad that comes with it is fresh and the dressing is on the sour side, which is appetizing. The conch fritter came out hot and the batter is nice and not greasy. The ambiance is ok, with some jazz music playing in the background. I appreciated how much this place leans into both cultures from decor showcases both cultures to their balanced menu featuring dishes from both. There is ample seating at this place and dont let the construction outside deter you because they are open. We ordered the cheese manakish to start, and this might have been my favorite dish. Balanced with two types of cheese with a light airy texture to it kept it from feeling too dense. The pita its on is crunchy and thin, and theres a drizzle of sauce, likely some form of pesto, that cuts the flavor making it a truly enjoyable dish. We also ordered the chicken kebabs and roasted jerk chicken. The kebabs were a great portion with tender chicken, some greens, and grains. I personally could have used more tzakai, but thats a personal preference. Overall though, the meal did not feel heavy and I left feeling full but not overtly stuffed which I was happy with. My husband's jerk chicken was a sizable dish. The chicken was tender and fell right off the bone, and the pilaf had a nice flavor to it. Overall we really enjoyed our meals. The service can take some time, but its a super small staff so just be patient.
