During the massage, I can feel how her magical hands are doing wonders in my back. I like the lotion and scent that she uses, not too strong or fragrant. After a week: I am not able to crack my neck and shoulder anymore (that's a good sign). The massage table is motorized and can be heated so mobility issues or getting too cold aren't a concern at all. She uses unscented products which I appreciated. The building is also brand new and decorated beautifully! I should start by saying that I'm a tough client for a massage therapist to deal with. I've had a multi-level cervical spine fusion (C5-C7), and I'm awaiting another spine surgery that I'm trying to delay with steroid shots, physical therapy, and massage therapy. I also have neurological disorder along with mixed connective tissue disease which amounts to living with chronic nerve pains, muscle spasms, stress, and general feelings of not being well. When seeing physical therapists and massage therapists I'm usually timid because I injure easily, and there have been mutiple instances in which I've had setbacks from treatment. Even before setting foot into the office at Thrive there was a form to fill out which asked about my medical history and areas of my body that need attention and/or need to be avoided. At the visit, she went back over the form and discussed the areas of the body she was going to avoid and how she planned to treat the areas that were going to be massaged. I felt like I was in control of the session and for the first time in a long time I felt muscles relax that have been tight since my first spine surgery. I've seen several massage therapists over the years, and this is the first one to actually take the time to talk to me about my concerns and make sure we were both on the same page throughout the massage.
