As I was driving out of the parking lot of the Main US Post Office of Roanoke, Virginia, after…read moresending off some mail. The one centrally located across from the Berglund Center. I noticed that I was running low on gas, and used my Shell app to find the nearest Shell gas station. Lately, I have been using Shell because of its quality. I can notice the difference from the way my Lexus responds when I use this gas. Also because of the convenience of its app, that I can use to locate Shell gas stations near me, pay at the pump using my cellphone with the Shell's app, and the Shell Fuel Rewards Program. It pointed out that this Shell gas station located on 1919 10th Street NW was the closest one. So I set my Lexus GPS navigation system to that address and headed that way. As I arrived in a few minutes, I was impressed with this Shell's modern gas pumps with the pay-at-the-pump feature. So I filled up my Lexus' tank with gas, and then, even though I get an email receipt, I went inside their very nice looking front convenience store and Chester's Chicken To Go restaurant, to get a paper receipt for my records. Inside, I found a very clean and organized store, that even with its small size, seemed to be well stocked with everything one can think of needing, or wanting, at the spur-of-the-moment. The owner was behind the counter, speaking with a lady that I suppose was his wife, in Arabic language, so to get his attention and not be rude, I greeted him with the Arabic greeting: "As-Salamu alaykum," meaning "Peace be upon you," a common greeting among Muslims. He in turn gave me a friendly and warm welcome and after I asked him, printed me a receipt of pump 4. Since I was there, I walked around the store and was very impressed with the well use of space in maintaining such a wide variety of merchandise. So now, when I'm in the area and need gas, or any other item, like bread or milk, or simply a snack, I know I can come here to shop and I highly recommend that you do the same and give your support to this local family-owned business.
