Started with Murphy about 6-7 years ago for home auto and business. The agents I dealt with at first were very good. Not happy now with agents for any home auto or business. Auto billing is incomprehensible, Have called multiple times for clarification including a conversation with Mr. Murphy who advised an agent would get back to me with detailed explanations. Still waiting. Business agent, have no idea who that is anymore. Received poor and incomplete advice for workers comp. Spoke to one person who could seem to care less. Spoke to Mr. Murphy who resolved the issue. Home no complaints other than never contacted for a review of the policy. Will move all my insurance now as it renews in the hope of better service elsewhere. Cost seems OK. read more

These idiots (who don't know ANYTHING about customer service) didn't even have the grace/business sense to respond with follow-up info. on car insurance after we took the time to meet with them in their office. (and BTW, she took numerous phone calls/text messages while we met with her!) THEN they had the audacity to send me an email a year later asking if we're interested in meeting with them to discuss car insurance! Complete rip off!!! any angency to write a rediculos poilcy with inflated limits to make some money!! Shame on you! The audacity to even talk about how you "insure Tesla's" so you think it's ok to jack people's rates oh yeah and not even have coverage protecting the driver but inflated rates to protect other people they insure! I've only had problems with Murphys insurance and I've had them since I started driving. For one, they have incompetent agents that I swear are just thrown in without any training and no idea what they are doing. I've dealt with both the Bolton and Hudson offices and let me tell you, no difference in quality, they are both horrible. Honestly, I have no idea why they even exist because they are so useless and don't take care of anything. Today alone I had a horrible experience with one of the agents at the Hudson office who just completely wrote me off and was so rude that I finally told her I'm ending my business with them (as the rest of my family is as well) and told her that she was indeed useless in helping me at all. What was just wonderful was last year when we switched the registration of my car from my mom to me and the agent that helped us had no clue what she was doing and kept calling and sending me emails with new paperwork because she screwed up so many times. Shocking I stuck through that. If you're smart you will take your business elsewhere. My family, including my siblings, mother, grandma, and a couple aunts have used them and have had nothing but problems. Good luck if you do use them. read more

I have been a 20 year customer to Murphy's insurance. My kids, my wife and I were hit by a driver who took an illegal left turn. My CD and NAV system was damaged in the accident. I have had my car back for 2 months and I have no Radio, CD player or NAV system that works. I have had to make over 40 phone calls in the past two months to the dealer, to the auto body shop to Murphy's and now to commerce insurance. If I did not call Murphy's they would have never called me about anything. I have had to make every call myself. It is very frustrating that after 20 years, I need them this one time and they have not been there to help out. It is pretty bad when they say there is nothing else I can do, and here, call commerce insurance and see if they can help you. It has to be by far the worst experience in my life. I have been lied to on dates they promised to call back, they never do and I end up having to call myself. This has happened for at least 2 months now. I would not recommend to ANYONE EVER to work with Murphy's insurance. They pass the buck to anyone else and can't even help a 20 year customer one time. read more

I have been using Murphy's Insurance for the past few years for my business insurance as well as insurance for my company vehicles. The reason I use them is they have great customer service. As a busy owner of a business my days are often very harried and Murphy's is there to lend a helping hand with whatever I need. I work with Ray Sherman and he always gets right back to me with whatever questions or concerns I have. Ray is great! Thank you Murphy Insurance for making my days a little bit easier. One more thing they offer registry service when titling/transferring registrations and that for me is worth the price of admission knowing I will never have to go to the RMV :) read more

I just read Jason S's post on Murphy Insurance and feel I must put my 2 cents in. I have been with Murphy Insurance since 1986. Mr Murphy personally greeted me on a Saturday morning and took care of all my paperwork. How did I end up at Murphy Ins? My boyfriend now husband brought me there. He has had his insurance with Murphy Insurance since he started driving, his parents have been there for as long as I can think back. Now our kids have insurance thru Murphy Insurance. Being around this agency for so long, we have had by far the best service hands down. It's nice to walk in the office and see the same faces! Let's face it, nobody likes to deal with insurance, but the staff has always been there to educate & guide us on what was good for us. They really have our best interest. Any claims that we have had, have been handle in a very professional manner and rather quickly too! If we ever had an an issue, all we had to do was pick up the phone and call and someone always addressed our problem. Customer Service is truley #1 with this agency. Terry spent a lot of time answering all of my questions and giving me many different options. I compared prices and this agency offered the most affordable policy. I'm very pleased with the service provided so far. If I needed to make a claim, I would contact Commerce directly. They are the ones who should be processing the claims and dealing with repairs. Jason S. was spot on with his review. Our furnace stopped working and our pipes froze in our home in January 2014. I am writing this on August 11th 2014 after cutting yet another check out of my personal checking account to pay the plumber. I received the same reply Jason did when asked what assistance they were offering, "well I can call them, but it probably wont help anyways". Are you kidding me??? My policy ran out while not having a functioning furnace or repaired pipes. The only contact I had with Murphy Insurance (other than me contacting them) was to renew my policy. I explained that they have done nothing to assist with this claim and I would never renew my policy with them. Subsequently, I opted to keep my home uninsured as no other company would touch it in it's current condition then to deal with Murphy Insurance again. Trust the two sources that have the exact same experience in dealing with this company, one for auto insurance (Jason S) and mine for home owner insurance. There service is horrible, and in my opinion almost criminal. read more
