The pool isn't too cold on a hot day, so if you're expecting Barton Springs cold you're not gonna get it. But given the pricing and the location (especially if you're in/close to Pflugerville), it's a nice place to visit. A nice plus is that there are tables and chairs that are for the most part in the shade (perfect for the summer). I do want to point out that the building with restrooms/changing room/showers is no longer in use, so you'll have to use the bathrooms "in front" (never used them, so don't know if they're referring to the ones in the park or not). In any case, the bathroom situation probably isn't the greatest, so if you're in a situation where you need nicer facilities, you might want to think twice before coming. That being said, if you're looking for a solid place to swim for a few hours (even 1 or 2), I think this place beats out the other pools around town.

Deep Eddiy pool has a oblong shape typical of large pools of its size. The pool has architecturally clean lines with precise corners. When you stand on the pool platform the vastness of the pool rushes to the forefront. Everytime I stick my foot in the water of the Deep Eddy pool, that cool refreshing feeling envelopes my body. There are no lounge chairs so bring a blanket for the ground and expect it to get dirty because people have to sit in the grass/dirt. There are a few trees for shade. I brought in my water bottle and no one said anything so I guess water is ok There is a parking lot but you must pay to park and it gets filled quickly Bike trails lead up to it Locker rooms are half indoor/half outdoor and rather dingy. Several lifeguards on duty. periodically they make everyone get out of the pool for 5 min (one an hour?) There needs to be someone skimming the pool throughout the day..there's a ton of bugs/leaves that get in the water. Also, since people lounge on the dirt lawn, everyone's feet are dirty when getting in the pool. The pool ropes had some sort of black sludge caked into them. It was pretty gross. $5 for an adult. There's also a pretty cool slide and one of those "walk on floats across the water" things. My kids stayed for almost 2 hours and the only reason we left then is because they were starting to turn red from their sunscreen wearing off. The lifeguards were also great. We have gotten so used to overbearing lifeguards this summer who blow their whistles and yell nonstop and this was a nice change of pace. They were very patient with everyone, using normal speaking voices and only using whistles if someone was doing something dangerous. It made for a very relaxing and fun experience. The entry for kids is about standard ($3 each) and a bit higher than usual for adults ($6 each) but one of the benefits of this is that the place wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a good time without feeling cramped. We'll definitely be coming back again, kids and adults had a great time.

Apparently, "open swim" means head must be above waterline at all times & no swimming on ones back (albeit, this definition has ONLY been provided by one of the life guards & what constitues "swimming" is NOT defined in writing ANYwhere. Note: you can NOT swim with goggles & your head in the water during "open swim." It does not matter if you are the only one in the pool (as verbally stated to me by today's lifeguard). He insisted that the lifeguard on duty has the authority to enforce the rules (I don't dispute that), but the rules are not posted anywhere, consequently, how can I follow them?

This was my first time here, so I wasn't sure where to go. The road that goes around & over the dam is closed until Aug 2024, so I just took the only other option. I ended up at the boat launch, and it's a great place for pics! Plenty of ducks & pretty scenery! Not too many people on the lake or in the campground, but it definitely looks like a nice place to spend a relaxing weekend & drop a line in the water!
