It's an old building that is very loud and right on a major city intersection with ambulance/police/fire truck engine sirens going off all hours of the night. You will hear your neighbors, and it may not be your next door neighbor as the hardwood floors, thin walls, and openness create a loud echo that resonates throughout the building. It could be someone 2 doors down or someone across the hall; a very loud old historical building. The building also has a musky smell with mold/mildew growth prevalent. There are birds (maybe bats?) that live in the eaves/roof. It also has a noticeable bug pest problem... Going back to the building loudness, the manager would complain to me via text that a certain next door neighbor (a seemingly arrogant neighbor that wouldn't even go out of her way to say hello once) would frequently complain about me being loud per the manager, however one time I caught her texting me saying the neighbor said I was loud but I wasn't even home and nothing in my apartment was on. And I own no pets! "That's what i thought" the manager replies via text when I told her I was out of town. What a _____! Be careful on this one! It's a stressful living situation! I also have a friend that lived there that moved out because of various problems that concur with my review here. Oh and it's one of those security deposits that "you don't get back.";)

These people try everything they can to steal your deposit and to charge extra fees in any way…read morepossible. If you rent here you will lose your deposit guaranteed and they try to sneak in whatever they can like "oh you didnt give us a proper notice that you were moving out" luckily i gave a one month written notice and took photos as proof but then they try to do the whole youre leaving before the contract was up so we had to go over all my payment receipts. And meanwhile 6 months later they send me papers of money i owe out of nowhere after signing off and thinking everything was fine and the paper they managed to type up is pathetic. Saying things like this has truly been a tough year and how bad covid really was and o if you dont send us this money were just file it and make whatever problems we can for you. Look guys it wouldve been super nice of you to have gone over this when i was leaving the apartment ot six months later...

The edging around the cabinet tops was literally falling off... There was a broken window... My bathtub is cracked... The plumbing leaked... The air conditioning unit was "out of alignment"... The floor is not level... I can go on for days. One main problem I had was that there was paint and puddy on EVERYTHING. My cabinets, floors, air vents, doors, fixtures, fireplaces. It took me and four others FOUR days of cleaning, scrubbing and a lot of googling to get this cleaned up. Weeks later, after a lot of arguing they did patch the floor and repair 80% of the damages. When I say 80%, I still have a cracked bathtub that will have to be replaced out of my pocket, a uneven floor, and paint that will hopefully eventually wear off the floor. That is not the point. When I bought a new home I thought that it would be new. My new home is patched together. It is completely ridiculous the way we have been treated, as if we were the problem. The owner of Competitive Housing even REFUSED to come and view the problems stating (and I quote) that it was "not his job". I feel that people should be warned. This company uses a christian persona to fool people and trick them into thinking they are good salt of the earth people. They are not. They lie, they manipulate and they trick you into thinking that your house being a disaster is your fault.

Not only have I had major electrical and plumbing problems, but the carpet was nailed down with Roofing Nail's, I said Roofing Nails. They have refused every request for service and the Manufacturer ( Southern Energy Homes of Addison AL.) refuses to discuss it as well. BE Caution and WATCH OUT IF YOU ARE EVEN CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF A HOME FROM EITHER THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER!!!!!!!
