I have a history of skin cancer and have been seeing Dr. Murray since I relocated to Coos Bay in in 2019. I get regular checkups and over the years Dr. Murray has successfully treated me for a number of skin pre-cancers and skin cancers. Thankfully none have been the nasty melanoma. Because of my history I am always doing self checks. Occasionally between visits a suspicious spot will appear. Dr. Murray has a web portal through North Bend Medical Center, and I have been able to upload a picture and get a quick decision as to if an office visit is necessary. When necessary he made time to see me quickly. What I like most of all is he pays attention to the details. As an example one time I when in and he found a spot I had not noticed. Turned out to be another cancer. If you are looking for a lifetime partner to keep you cancer free, this is the Doctor for you. read more

I'm a 63 year old Senior. . .I had a cyst removed today, the staff at Dermatology was "Awesome"! When I arrived, the nurse asked me how I was doing? I replied that I was one step away from having a massive panic attack! (I don't do needles or sharps of any kind. Inside, was scared to death). Before the procedure, the nurse told me everything she was going to do before she even touched me, to reassure me that everything was going to be alright! She was really cool about it and told DNP Murray who came in later to reassure me that everything would be fine. She came back with a couple of what looked like dipping sauce packets and told me to drink them and I would feel a lot better in a few minutes. 15 minutes later, the last thing I recall mentioning was that the music they were playing was really nice! They had me in and out of the surgery room in about 45 minutes, they helped my wife load me in the car. Once we got home, she some how coaxed me into the house where I slept on the couch for a few more hours of which I don't remember any part of that? I saw the negative reviews posted on this site. . .Let me be the one to tell you, they have NO idea what they are talking about? This Dermatology Staff went out of their way to insure that I was going to be Very Well taken care of and I was! I was a First Responder for most of my life and I have been around hundreds of medical facilities. These folks are the Top of their Game. . .You're not going to find better care anywhere! read more

Dr James Murray is a great dermatologist and a very polite person! His bedside manner as a doctor is top star! I had a procedure done a couple years ago I was very nervous about and he took care of it like it was no problem. I barely noticed or felt anything other that a tiny pinch of a needle for a numbness for him to shave off a mole that's been bothering me ever since I was a teen! I was always bothered and self conscious of that mole I was teased and made to feel embarrassed by my peers in school because of it, Dr. Murray with a quick procedure brought took care of it! It's been a couple years and that mole is a thing of the past and hasn't surfaced again! Thank you Dr James Murray! read more

After waiting about 4 months for an appointment I was sternly told I could only discuss three issues with the doctor. He was vague about a skin concern and never even checked any moles. When I got my chart notes later they said "extensive history of excessive sun exposure" which I have learned from two other dermatologists is not true. Then it said " Counseled patient on the importance of regular use of sunscreen and sun protective clothing, as well as avoidance of excessive sun exposure. Advised to use sunscreen with zinc for physical block." Completely untrue. The subject never came up and he never counseled me on anything. Advanced Skin Care in Coquille who I went to after I had concerns about a few things and did a biopsy on moles Dr. Murray never took the time to look at. I don't trust Dr. Murray at all. I highly recommend the place in Coquille instead. read more

This doctor is afraid to do his job. He will not remove cysts because he "might get stuff on him". He then said to go to an aesthetician, which he acknowledged is probably not covered by insurance. We should incur extra expense because this guy is too squeamish to do his job? Are you kidding me? When asked to remove skin tags he suggested "a sharp scissors and apply pressure". Is this guy actually a doctor, or is he a CATCH ME IF YOU CAN imposter? I won't be going back to find out. read more

I was shamed into a suicidal rage for missing new patient appointment. Yes, my mistake. I was so high on crack that I just forgot. Oh wait, that was the zombie on Newmark.... No, me, I am productive, a senior and I do not need to be disciplined by any doctor, yes I am a white male, a republican, and I identify as, yes a male. I find it absolutely appalling that thier policy is so rigid and unreasonable. I am not dying from anything catastrophic and the various skin concerns I have are menial. Imagine though, what if one of these little moles are serious, what if this disrespect I have been subjected too causes death or serious illness.. My point is, this doc is not in it for the simple fact of adding value to others, and yes, he should be compensated for the achievement of being a licensed practitioner. But please do not become a doctor so you can wave your sword around a cut people down and make them feel like a child. Oh, I missed my appointment because I was helping an 83 year old man trim his hedges because the city was going to impose a fine for blocking the view of traffic. Dr. Murrey is a horrible human lacking basic social compassion. read more

Dr. Murray and his team were very kind and professional. I received a laser treatment for my face. The office was spotless and the staff were friendly. Dr. Murray and his assistant gave clear information about the procedure and the after care. I am not always comfortable in a doctors offices, but I felt totally at ease here. The Cool Peel laser treatment has done wonders for my redheaded, freckled, almost 40yr old skin. I usually don't leave the house without full makeup, this treatment has given me the confidence to leave the house without any makeup at all!! I highly recommend Dr. Murray, his staff and this procedure. read more
