Just don't do it. Permanent makeup is forever -- and so is a tattoo artist's mistake. I trusted Arina with my eyelids and walked away with a disaster: One eye is tattooed, and the other isn't. So now I have permanent makeup on one eye and nothing on the other -- the exact opposite of the effortless look I paid good money for. The anti-muse. When I pointed this out, on the table and in text, Arina handed me $200 and told me to go elsewhere. She refused to fix her own work. Now I'm stuck wearing makeup every single day, or else I look like a one eyed monster Picasso. And now I am hunting for another artist willing to guess the color she used -- because she offered zero help, zero documentation, and zero accountability. And I will have to pay all over again. OMG do yourself a favor and talk to Arina!! I had done lip color tattooing several years ago and the color never took...a complete waste of money. So a couple years ago I met with Arina and she is not only a true artist but she knows her stuff about pigments and dyes and application on different types of skin. She looked at my lips and knew exactly what happened. She also filled in my brows which was amazing. She has honestly changed my morning routine to where I can get by with just mascara and maybe a little eyeliner but my lips and brows look naturally "done"...it's been a life changer. So I'm a transitioning trans woman who kinda wanted to take the dive and get my lips blushed to be more out. I didn't really have a color I ever thought was the best on me and left it up to them. I'm going to tell you that now that the swelling has gone down and the color has lightened a bit (still a process to wait to see the final but) I'm obsessed. It changed my face, my lips look like they had the perfect filler just from coloring the parts that had lost the color over the years. And the color looks like she went into adobe Photoshop and used color theory to pick something that also made my blue eyes pop more. I am so happy with my new brows! It took me years to decide to get my brows done because I worried how it would turn out with oily skin. After learning microblading isn't the best technique for my oily skin, I researched and learned powder brows were the best option for me. Arina is amazing! I was nervous to do anything with my brows but it was the best decision I could have made. When I was 13 I shaved my uni-brow area and accidentally took off 1/3 of my brow and it never grew fully back. I've always hated my brows but didn't know they could look the way they do now. I feel so honored that Arina did my lips. I wanted a lip blush because my lips are light in color. The top lip specifically, disappears into my gums when I smile and it looks like I just have no upper lip. I don't like wearing lipstick either because I have a sharp Cupid's bow and don't want to draw attention to it. Overall, I mainly wear tinted lip balm or gloss. I wanted my lips to have a natural pigmentation where I can just wear gloss but it still shows in photos that I DO have lips. When I got to the studio Arina was very kind and listened to my concerns. I specified the shade I wanted and the color tones I didn't like. I also told her to not emphasize my Cupid's bow. She offered an alternative that she could round out the tips of my Cupid's bow since I didn't like the sharpness. She also educated me a bit about color theory and what pigments she thinks would best fit my lip skin tone. The service was done in 3 hours and she was very attentive about my bathroom breaks and also my responses to if I needed more numbing cream. I almost fell asleep during the procedure because I felt very taken care of. Arina was extremely thorough in the process as she kept going back to check certain spots at different angles even though we were basically done. This does pay off in the long run because my lips were drawn very precisely and there is no patchiness. The healing process was a breeze and I get more excited as each day passes because I couldn't wait to see the result of my lips. She completely nailed the color I was picturing, even when I only brought in my sheer tinted lip balm instead of an opaque lipgloss/lipstick. I am currently a month out from my touch up procedure for lip neutralization and I am living for these results. Arina thinks of everything and answers all of your unasked questions. First let me start off by saying I LOVE the PMU (Smokey eyeliner and lip blush) from Arina!!! I've had two areas of makeup that have been a point of contention for me for years, both of which Arina at muse fixed. My eyes: starting in my tween years I developed a nervous habit of pulling at my eyelashes when stressed. I've largely broken this with the help of my hubby BUT it's not 100% gone and I still have patchy spots as a result. Due to this, eyeliner has always been a must for me. I've never left the house without it. Unfortunately as I've gotten older I have a slight benign tremor that crops up at times and it means my eyeliner can take a lot of time! This was something I wanted addressed by PMU. My lips: my lower lip is slightly crooked- a little fuller on one side then the other PLUS my lips are pale. Most days I wouldn't have time to do the whole lip liner routine (bec of the time to do my eyeliner). This meant whenever I'd take a picture my lips would quasi disappear (due to being pale) and the parts you could see made it look like ... well like my smile was crooked! Now my awesome husband always said he thought that was a cute quirk of mine. Which 'awwww' but I still felt like I would feel better if it was improved, even slightly by PMU (darken my lips so they would stop disappearing and if the crookedness could be helped a little- bonus) With these goals in mind I researched PMU artists. I liked Muse. I liked that Arina not only posts pics of healed results but also addresses issues/provides advice for things she sees in the industry that she wants clients to look for. It was a bit of a travel for me and I'm not a fan of driving/parking in San Fran BUT this was going to be a semi permanent tattoo ON my face so you do whatcha gotta do!!! On the day of my appointment I used the parking Ap Arina rec'd and it was easier than I thought. Arrived for my appointment, discussed with Arina my goals and concerns. We talked about color- I'm not great at that so I showed her lip gloss that was rec'd for me. She looked at it, told me what she liked and didn't like about the color for my skin tone and what she envisioned for my lip blush. She then spent time 'sketching' (putting ?makeup? on my lips and my eyes) to determine how the tattoo would look. She took a lot of time guys! She would 'sketch' step back, evaluate, had me smile/pucker etc and evaluate some more. Then gave me a mirror to see if I was fine with it and then we proceeded! Arina kept checking in with me during the process to ensure I wasn't uncomfortable. I was so nervous so I loved that! Once done we reviewed after care and away I went! Once home my husband (who if you remember thought my crooked lip was adorable) thought my PMU looked like 'date night' and had no complaints lol. It's been almost 30 days. My makeup has settled in and I'm still in love with it. It has been such a time saver in the morning PLUS my makeup look is actually more complete bec now I always have that 'blush' to my lips that I didn't have before! I literally get out of the shower and just have to do my hair now. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. I followed Arina on instagram for months (actually I think it was over a year) before I finally made my appointment. While I love the idea of permanent makeup, trusting someone to do this TO MY FACE was another matter. You can tell by pictures of past clients that her work is good, and after our initial consultation I felt like I could trust her to do a good job. And I am so happy I did! I got my brows and liner done and now, about two weeks after my touch up appointment, I can literally wash my face, moisturize and get on with my day. My liner especially looks great as Arina drew the line in so much better than I could ever do it myself.
