I called this business for a service I needed. It took a while to connect...there didn't seem to be any receptionist handling calls when I reached out or any time I was at the place. During the call, I was quoted a price of around $1,000. I was not told that this would require multiple sessions at that price for the goal I explained, and I only learned that after the process had already begun. I personally felt misled by that lack of clarity because it was information I needed upfront to make an informed decision. Since I had already started, I went through the three sessions I was eventually told would be needed in total. Although there was some improvement after those three sessions, the issue I came in for was still clearly visible. After the third session, there was an interaction that left me feeling very upset, belittled, and spoken to in a way that felt very harsh and dismissive. The tone of the conversation made me feel disrespected and extremely uncomfortable, and it occurred in front of another customer, which made the situation even more upsetting. Because of how I was treated and how misled I felt, I decided I could not continue treatment here despite the work not being completed to the expectation that was clearly known. I strongly encourage anyone considering this business to get complete clarity beforehand about pricing, how many sessions total could realistically be required, and what exact results you can expect. I've been very pleased with Jeannie's scar camouflage tattoos. I had white, flat scars from scratches and mole removals. If you have this type of scar, you've probably found that they're difficult to treat with topicals, laser resurfacing, or other methods. The best solution, as far as I'm aware, is to restore the pigment with tattooing. Many people have heard that tattooing is painful, but this type is not. She applies numbing cream, so the most you feel is a light scratching or prickling sensation. It's very comfortable. Jeannie identified a color that matches my skin tone perfectly. After six years of filling in my eyebrows, I was finally ready to get them tattooed. I had devoted and entire hour in my morning routine to just drawing on my brows. I found Jeannie through Google and was so impressed with her work, that I immediately emailed her for a consultation. When I met with Jeannie, she saw that I had bad-brow syndrome (that's what I call it). She has a way of looking at your face artistically, and seeing what we lose sight of when we look at ourselves everyday. I was convinced that they way I had filled in my brows that day, were the brows I was ready to be committed to for the rest of my life. I was so very wrong. So, I went here based on the reviews. While Jeannie is very nice and professional I don't think she was really listening to me. I went in to get my eyebrows shaped and darkened. So, let me preface with letting you know a little about me; I am an Esthetician and have worked in the industry for the last 10 years. I work at a skincare studio where we specialize in brow design...my boss is well known as the "Brow Guru" and our loyal clientele have very high standards. I should also say that I, myself, am quite the perfectionist...so as you can imagine, it was a BIG DEAL for me to be laying in a stranger's chair who was about to permanently alter my face! What can I say....Jeannie is truly an artist! My first visit was simply to have permanent makeup on my lips. My desire was to have my lips appear a little fuller, and to give them a brighter, natural, flushed color. The moment I met Jeannie, she really put me at ease. She is very warm and welcoming. Right away, I pummeled her with questions...what is going to feel like? what will it look like? what if we do the wrong color? how do you know what color to use? what if there is a mistake?!?! Together we perfected the "template" on my lips and then it was time for the moment of truth.... We had talked at my first appointment about my brows...yes, even I have had the pubescent experience of over-plucking my precious brows and have a few sparse areas that I usually fill in with makeup. I was incredibly anxious about the idea of having permanent makeup on my brows...I have seen those photos! You know, the ones that are scary fake looking! But, Jeannie has mastered a technique which gives the brows a feathery appearance...very natural. I took a deep breath and told her I was ready to do my brows...again, we designed them together and then I let her get to work! I have to say...I cannot believe I waited this long to get these services done. I LOVE my LIPS! They are full, beautiful and the best part is that there is no need for lip color! Yesterday I got my first ever cosmetic tattoo- "lash enhancement" (subtle eyeliner that is placed only in the lash line.) I can't comment yet on the long term results, but the immediate results and working with Jeannie are both awesome. Jeannie is extremely professional and comfortable to work with. It's a major act of trust to let someone tattoo something permanent on your face, especially in such a vulnerable area. Thanks to her calm, supportive "bedside manner" and obvious expertise, I was comfortable going to her for this, and I would recommend her to anyone! She used numbing cream and the application was not painful. She uses the SofTap hand-tap method and inks, and there is no scary machine involved. During the free consultation I got in advance, she explained everything, chose colors for me, and showed me the needles and how it feels to be tapped with them. Very reassuring. The actual "needle part" of the process felt like it took about 10 minutes on each eye. It didnt hurt much, maybe a 1 on a scale of 1-10. It was a bit hard to relax and tolerate being touched on that area of my eye though, so if you are the type of person who takes Valium for dental appointments you might consider asking your doctor for some for this, too. For someone who is tolerant of procedures, I don't think it's a big deal and I bet most people will feel just fine with no meds at all. I am experiencing some normal swelling on the second day, but it's not that bad. All in all, this is an affordable and easy beauty enhancement! I wish I had done it years ago. When I think of all the time and money I've spent on makeup, this is a much better route. I went for permanent makeup - eyelash enhancement because mine are neither full nor long nor curly. :( Part girly-girl, part tomboy, I like the look of makeup but hate the fuss, hence my interest. Also a big baby about pain, I was very picky in choosing. JuvEssentials won over other options because of the good reviews and because I felt very comfortable with Jeannie after our consultation. Jeannie was very patient and warm. I must say I was a bit skittish about trying it. Okay, a LOT skittish. I contemplated for 6+ months before going. In Jeannie's place I definitely would have tried my own patience, so I would say if you are thinking about it, just talk to her. One of the best things I have to say about the experience is that Jeannie never made me feel anything less than valued and respected as a client, even though I felt like a fraidy-cat myself. It would be all to easy to discount my nerves, given her familiarity with the process, but she never did, she never made me feel wrong for my concerns. That alone is gold. About the pain-levels. It wasn't fun but I was surprised at how bearable it was and the touch-ups got easier. Understand I am a highly sensitive individual. Folks with normal to high pain tolerance will probably laugh at me. Still, I feel it is worth it. Finally, Jeannie has a steady hand and very good taste. She goes slowly in building up the level of permanent makeup look you want so you can be sure of getting the look you want. At first it looks very dark and extreame but it heals to about 1/4 of the intensity it seems at first. I scoured reviews for about a year until I found Jeannie. She had an extensive portfolio online and had some really challenging cases that turned out beautiful. She also had a large of experience with fair skin tones. Jeannie spent about 1/2 hour with me going over the design, process, and post-care. I was incredibly nervous and pretty obsessive over my eyebrows, so I greatly appreciated her thorough explanations and patience with me. She started by looking at my eyebrows, made some measurements, then painted the ink on my skin in the general shape that my eyebrows would be in. Jeannie uses as much of your natural eyebrows as a guide as possible. Once I was okay with the shape she made the first application. It took 4-5 days to fully heal and they turned out thin and faint (this is part of the normal process). Then I went back a couple more times over the next few months to keep adding until we got to the darkness and fullness that I was looking for. Now I go about every 9-12 months for a touch-up since they naturally fade over time. Each time I go, my eyebrows look even better - she makes minor tweaks each time. How about a four-month update? I went to see Jeannie again yesterday for a brow touch-up and a lash tint. Oh my goodness, LASH TINTING! I am hooked. No more mascara for me! I'm very happy with my eyebrow tattoos. I don't have that much hair so it's really important to me that they look natural but stand out enough. I also do a lot of exercise so the convenience of having them there all the time is amazing! I have had my eyebrows done before with someone else, but was always slightly disappointed with the result as they were quite thin after the scab fell off. Yes, I had big eyebrows after the initial session, but on the 5th day the scabs came off and I was really happy with what was underneath! I guess this is the price to pay for them to last up to a year. Previously, at the other place I was going back every 4 months due to fading which was very expensive for me. In my experience Jeannie isn't overly expensive. I'd be worried about going for cheap treatments as you need your eyebrows to be perfect as they can't be hidden easily! Jeannie has a new micro needling procedure, for results-oriented people, that I've done a couple times and I think it is making a difference in the appearance in my smile lines. I won't lie to you, it hurts a little and it leaves red marks on the skin. Jeannie uses a vibrating pen to "draw lines" over my lines, which stimulate the collagen and help to soften the effect of dynamic wrinkles like the ones around my mouth. I've been pondering getting permanent makeup done for years but was always too scared to go through with it. I was afraid that I would end up with some thick eyeliner or straight line on my bottom eye and solid eyebrows that you see on the streets. If that's what I wanted, I could easily do that myself. I finally worked up some courage to look up permanent makeup artists on yelp and found a few to choose from. I checked out the JuvEssentials website and went through all the before and after pix and was totally amazed by Jeannie's work. I called to schedule an appt for permanent upper and lower eyeliner and eyebrows and was lucky enough to get an appt for the next day. We started with a consultation on what exactly I wanted to achieve. I told her that I wanted to have eyeliner that didn't run all over my eyes half way through the morning, to balance out my right droopy brow and to have natural looking brows. No matter how much I plucked, tweezed or penciled in, I was never able to get my brows even. My brows were also way too thin and I was never able to thicken them without feeling overly self conscience. Jeannie came to the rescue and selected the correct color for my skin tone and showed me the final result before she started the work. I have to admit I was amazed by the entire procedure. I thought I would be in a lot of pain but there was just a little discomfort. I was able to drive home afterwards without any problems. I iced my eyes and brows at night and early the next morning and was fine for work. No one even noticed that my eyes were a little swollen. I love the eyeliner, it looks great. Her hand-done work mimics individual brow hairs, so the results are amazing, even under close inspection, and in areas where my natural brow hairs were absent. I was so impressed with her natural-looking brow work that I had a "lash enhancement" (permanent eyeliner) done as well. It looks great from day 1. Jeannie is not only an artist, but a very fair business person. She is straightforward about her appointment policies and sends email reminders 24 hours before her appointments with last-minute instructions (I think Jasmine W. misunderstood the meaning of "appointment" when she wrote her review) . Although you might find someone who can do cheaper permanent makeup, I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for". Jeannie is the best. I was very nervous about getting my eyeliner and eyebrows done. The first several times I came in, I needed a friend to hold my hand. I've come in several times now all on my own. Jeannie makes me feel calm and at ease. I appreciate the fun conversations we have while she's performing the procedure to take my mind off of it too. The pain is really not bad at all. It feels like a nail scratching your skin ever so slightly. Jeannie uses some really good numbing cream and applies and reapplies it generously. Jeannie is very talented & good at what she does. She keeps a natural look. I had a great experience with her; she is very friendly & courteous, & she takes good care of you. Numbing gel is used so the tattoo is not as painful, but there will still be some (it's a tattoo!). Overall it's not too long of a process (& if it's your first time, don't worry, it'll look dark & thick at first for your eyebrows & lips, but it WILL become more light & natural looking after it heals, which is about a week) She won't give up until you are satisfied with her work. NO Stars for this business, I went with Jeannie few weeks ago, based on her wonderful reviews. I am very disappointed!!! I played her $400 for this visit, she recommended 2 more sessions after this one each with the price of $350. She told me that I will see a big change on my eyebrows with the first visit, and guess what? Nothing everything fall off, she did this huge eyebrows on my small face, I was trap at home for four days, for nothing! I call her to let her know, her answer was that she did not promised anything to me. Is this professional? She work on my eyebrows for 15 or 20 minutes, she got $400 easy, I don't understand how a person feel good doing this to honest hard working people that they are just trying to look better, willing to pay for this and others taking advantaged of this. I've been seeing Jeannie for a few years now and every time I go, I'm amazed at her artistry!! She is fantastic! I have complete trust in her and her work. I started to lose my eyebrows several years ago and I nervously visited JuvEssentials for tattooing. They looked great immediately and each touch up appointment has never disappointed.
