I first came across this place a few years ago when my wife and I visited the Berkshires. While walking by, we noticed several prints in the window that we thought would look great in our home. We decided to step inside and found even more things that caught our interest. They had a variety of items--jewelry, souvenirs, framed prints of artwork, comics, maps, and something I found particularly unique: framed book spines. As we browsed, the employee working there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Although we were initially on the fence about purchasing an art print, we ended up getting that along with some of the framed book spines. We recently returned to the area and decided to stop by again. This time, the owner was there, and he was just as friendly and helpful. A few years back, some coworkers had given me a gift certificate for the store after I told them about it. I had completely lost track of it, but the owner called his wife to see if she could locate any record of it--and within 10 minutes, they found it! We left the store with another large framed print, another book spine, and an enlarged, framed vintage train ticket from the Northeast Corridor. If you're ever in Pittsfield and looking for wall art or unique souvenirs at good prices, definitely stop by this cute store. read more

This is a great shop in downtown Pittsfield. Went in with the intent to just browse; but ended up indulging my creative side making some customized magnetic license plate signs (for Xmas gifts). There's something for everyone in here. I really liked the oversized framed book spines of classic (and some contemporary) novels but was already $140 deep on the magnet signs lol. Otherwise I would've bought more! Added plus, the store manager gift wrapped my purchases beautifully. Would absolutely come back here next time I'm out in Western MA. Prices are (in my opinion) fair to a good value, I guess it's dependent on what your personal price point is and what you want to spend. read more

Don't mistake Museum Facsimiles as the Berkshire Museum's gift shop just because of its name or that it's literally right next door to the actual museum. This is separate and apart from the museum. So forget the oversized pencils and postcards racks- what you'll find are unexpected gifts, stylish homeware items, metal jewelry, garden stuff, leather goods, Can-Can French posters and more in this shop. We got our hands on an $18 metal hanging bird bath, ornamental metal hooks for about $6 ea. and a few other things. In a nutshell, Facsimiles has it all with banging prices. read more

Beautiful !!! Great selection-a must see when visiting Pittsfield! Eclectic offerings- each of my grandchildren have a book binding picture of a beautiful children's book for their bedrooms. I found this store purely by chance on my way home from an event I attended in Massachusetts. I was going to just run in but it's impossible to do this here because there's SO much to see! Absolutely GORGEOUS artwork & note cards. Get something for your special someone. Guys, girls love this kind of stuff if she has any kind of taste. Unique jewelry, cute totes, silk scarves, soft hats & socks. So much to look at I ended up spending over an hour looking around. I wish only there was one in NY. read more

I am really satisfied of my experience at Museum Facsimile Outlet. I had a print that need to be framed. I walked in with it, and shortly enough I had different options of matting and framing. The gentlemen who served me was really nice and full of attentions and suggestions. While I was waiting for the total, I looked around and I was amazed by the nice custom prints, poster and cards they made. I ended up buying also two letterpress handmade cards, and I can't wait to go back to pickup my framed print to look at their holidays section! read more

I purchased a framed poster from this business back in July 2020. I received my purchase almost a month later. The glass in the frame was broken due to the fact that there was not enough packing material in the box to protect it. The item, even wrapped in bubble wrap, still moved about in the box. I sent an email with photos to this business that day. No response after 24 hours so I called the business and spoke with Ken. He said that he had seen the photos I had sent and was surprised that it had arrived in that condition, as he felt it had been packaged appropriately. It was decided that I would replace the glass locally (this business is in Massachusetts and I live in Oregon) and send him the bill where he would send me a reimbursement check. I did that and to date (it has now been over a month), I have not received a check nor have I heard anything further from Ken or this business. Not a very forthcoming business representative. I really can't say enough good things about this store. We spend every summer in the Berkshires and this is definitely my favorite store around. Ken, the owner, really has a great eye for special art. We have bought several pieces from him that we absolutely love. The prices are very, very reasonable. This store also does framing. I needed to get four prints framed so I brought them to Ken a few days before we left to drive back home to Florida. First, he stayed open an hour late to help my husband and I choose which frame was best. Secondly, his prices were beyond fair. Third, he really rushed this job for us....I know it would have normally taken weeks, but he did it in a few days because we were leaving. Most importantly, the framing job was perfect. I couldn't be happier. Another plus: The woman who works in his store (I don't remember her name) is beyond helpful and kind. I already have my eye on several more pieces from this store that we'll order throughout the year or pick up on our next visit to the Berkshires. I will definitely be ordering most, if not all, of the art from my house from this special, special place. read more

I've had two pieces of art framed here, and although I was happy with the quality of the work, I experienced unexpected delays on both jobs. I understand that sometimes difficulties arise that are not under your control, but I was not informed of the delays either time. These days, there is no excuse for not keeping the customer in the loop; call, text, FB message...you get the idea. Communication is the key! read more

We had a large panorama photo (landscape) framed by Museum Facsimile and it was shipped to Tampa Florida. It was a gift, so yes - important to pay attention to quality! We expected that a custom frame would take time and certainly ordered in a timely fashion! We were so pleased and the recipient of the gift was as well! I had a lovely experience shopping here last weekend. I wandered in for a quick look and wound up finding numerous great holiday presents for family and friends. The owners were present, friendly and extremely helpful with absolutely no pressure. I got the idea that they truly like customers! Not always the case these days. In addition to what I bought ( they helped me walk my purchases to the car) I had something ordered that came very quickly and expertly wrapped. The merchant promised the 3 frames I ordered would be sent in 10 days. They immediately charged my credit card for them. After waiting 2 weeks, I emailed them about when they were sending the frames. No response. A week later I emailed them and said they had 4 days to send then frames or I would cancel my order. On the 5th day, I got a package sent Fedex overnight...........with 1 frame. When I emailed them about the discrepancy they replied they didn't know how it happened, but would take the frame back if I wanted to return it. Do not order from this framer, I found others who delivered what they promised own time without a hassle. read more

The store has nice merchandise reasonably priced. When I arrived a large party was completing a sale with the sales clerk (only 1). I waited 10 minutes for the completion of the sale. I then asked to see one item and was told I could look at it while the clerk helped a local customer who had just arrived. After 10 more minutes, it was clear that unless you were making a big purchase or were a local customer, you weren't a priority. I was very disappointed with their customer service. read more

I love this store! It is such an interesting mix of merchandise offered with incredible gift wrapping, I can always find the right gift. The picture frames and framed prints are beautiful, it is worth the trip but plan some time as there is lots to see. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

I ordered two standard sized frames from this vendor on 1/11/14. The website indicated my frames would usually be sent the next business day. On 1/22/14, When I didn't hear word from the vendor, I e-mailed regarding the status. Laurie indicated she had to order the mouldings from California and expected to receive them the following Monday and also that she had had a family medical issue which delayed her getting to my order. I did not order custom frames and because the website indicated the frames should be sent the next business day, I thought the frames were in inventory. Fast forward to today, February 1, 2014, and I still have not received my frames. And I have not heard from the vendor. I e-mailed to ask the status and Laurie told they had shipped but she would cancel my order before my frames arrived to me so I wouldn't have any more problems. But I wanted the frames. That's why I waited patiently. If I had wanted my order cancelled, I would have asked for it to be cancelled. In the end, Laurie was not able to cancel my FEDEX shipment and I received the frames late today. Sadly, they did not look like the website photo and so I was disappointed. After Laurie's response, I do not feel like I can return them. She seemed to want to punish me (by attempting to cancel my shipment without my consent) for asking what the status of my order was and expressing concern over the long wait and lack of word from her. read more
