Donte C was so helpful and I was so amazed watching him address everyone and handle the store with such grace. He was super friendly and didn't seem flustered even with all the customers questions. Paul came in to help out and just took over helping me at the register while Donte helped another customer. It was nice to see how well the team works together. My husband and I were in and out in like 20mins to rent two separate instruments for our twins. Both Dante and Paul were so knowledgeable and so patient with us as we had several questions. While Marty couldn't help us behind the register, he was so kind and greeted us immediately when we walked in the door. It's very rare to have a shopping experience as pleasant as this one was. This store isn't bad, decent instruments, good accessories. But here's why I put 2 stars. I recently signed for music lessons at this store and for the pass TWO times, my teacher has NEVER been online, he couldn't even do the lesson because he forgot.. Now I know people make mistakes and forget. But I pay them near up to 100$ a week just for no teaching. They also did NOT in fact inform me that they were out. I might even cancel it at this point. This store is good I just don't recommend paying for lessons as it is unfair and only 30 minutes. read more

This is a complaint about their billing department. I'm honestly too exhausted to provide every detail but the short version is their billing department needs a serious overhaul. Their customer service reps aren't on the same page. Each rep tells you a different thing. The credit card that I used to pay the monthly charge was hacked and I had a new card reissued. Of course this coincided with the billing date and a payment was unable to be processed even though I called to alert them and provide the new number. No phone call was received from them. The first notice I get is from their collections department. Yes, collections. I spoke to someone and they said they would reverse the late fees as a result of the situation and my attempts to inform. A month later, I discover "there are no notes in our system about this", you still owe these fees and your account is delinquent. I just wanted a zero balance at this point and had given up trying to get anything from them so I paid in full. Lastly, the last day of my daughters school year was 6/13 and my billing date was 6/10. I explained I would return the violin on 6/14 and they informed me that was ok because there was a 4 day grace period. Guess what? I return the violin and June's charge was on my account. I call and they say it's a 3 day grace period and "there are no notes that you were told a 4 day grace period". So I guess now I'm a liar. Ok. They say they will request a credit but can't guarantee. They never called me back to inform me of the status. I just called again and the lady cut me off and said "there is no grace period". I asked if I could please finish explaining so she was up to speed and she said "you can call back" and hung up. My daughter will need an instrument in the next few years and I will NEVER EVER EVER use Music & Arts. read more

I booked lessons for my child in person for a specific day. The guy say sure okay no problem. I confirmed it with him before I left the store. I forgot to write down the time. I called to get the time, to which I was told I'm not even in the schedule for that day. I was told I'm booked for another day which I didn't approve! I was transferred for to the guy I spoke with originally in store. I wasn't disrespectful or raised my voice. I understand mistakes happen. Instead of him apologizing, HE got the attitude!! He said the slots were filled booked ongoing. Instead of him trying to find a resolve, his response was" So what you want you money back!!!" I had to continue to ask questions until there was a resolution. The customer service sucks. He is not a good representative for the company! read more

We needed to make a decision about my daughters rented violin. When my husband and I entered the store we were greeted professionally and friendly by Andrew. He gave us excellent customer service and assistance which enabled us to make a well informed decision. Andrew was knowledgeable and patient while providing great customer service. This store is a chain store that recently opened at this location about a month ago. It's located in the Rivertowne Commons mall. Received excellent service here from the manager Ben. My daughter is playing cello this year and he recommended the kit needed to care for her instrument. I'm excited that there is a quality music store in the area and we don't have to drive to Guitar Center or other music stores located in Waldorf, Virginia or Montgomery County. Looking forward to possibly enrolling myself in a class they offer! read more

I had a great experience yesterday working with Matthew, Aubrey and Touissant. They were very helping me find the needed items for 5 year old daughter whose starting to play violin. They were very patient, knowledgeable and even friendly to my daughter by allowing her to peak in to watch a lesson happening in the back. I even signed my daughter ups to piano lesson until the end of the year. I look forward to developing a relationship with these guys and coming back. read more

I called your location and was informed that you indeed had just what I was looking for and would be happy to set it aside. LOVE LOVE LOVE this store everyone there is so nice and professional, they make you and your child feel special from the moment you walk in the store. The store is very kid friendly my son likes to go in there just to try out the instruments and the good thing is he's allowed to and because of that his interest in music was sparked and for me this was wonderful because my son is autistic and it's very hard to get him interested in most things.
