I walked in today after my first drumming lesson and looked around a bit not sure what to buy and Ryan stepped in and asked me if I needed help. I was looking for a start up drum set and he told me about the Pearl and ludwig sets on the shelf . Once I knew the price included everything to get started I was sold on the Ludwig set! He wasn't sure if sticks were included but they were inside the box so it is a great set for anyone looking to get started . There are no instructions in the box but youtube has an excellent video on set up , tuning and how to get started playing which was very helpful. Was heading to TJ Maxx and was excited to see this while driving by. Been thinking about picking up a travel acoustic guitar for a while now and thought maybe today was the day. Walked in and was impressed by the multitude of instruments on display. As a prior band geek I was enjoying all the reeds and mouthpieces available while heading to the guitar display. There were some people looking at guitars and it seemed like one of them worked for the store, but I wasn't sure. I wandered around the guitars a bit, waiting for the guy I thought might be working there to break free and talk to me, but that didn't happen. Turned around and saw a woman behind the counter, she didn't look interested in moving to assist either. I had a little time so I walked around the store some more. Saw piano books, some were on sale, made a mental note to share this with a friend. Walked back to the guitars. Identified a few that looked interesting. Waited. No clue where the woman behind the counter went, and the guy I thought maybe worked there was setting something up for the other customer. Or maybe he didn't work there, I couldn't tell. After about a half hour of looking around I left. Not one person said "hello", "are you looking for something", "can I help you" or even "what do you want". It's not like I can't buy what I'm looking for on Amazon and have it delivered to my front door. What I want is to support local, but that's a little hard to do when you're ignored while inside the store. Told my friend about the music books and my experience here. I was very excited when I saw an advertisement for a free music showcase held at the store. I readily signed my son up for the showcase on the website. I did not obtain a call from the store in regards to a time for the showcase so I called them to check when we should come in. The gentleman who answered the phone explained that he was not aware if they would be doing the showcase because of COVID (which would have been understandable if it had been explained). What did happen was that an instructor called me to inform me that my son could do a "meet and greet" at 10 min to 10 that coming Saturday instead of the showcase. I graciously accepted her offer. Saturday morning, we got to the store at 9:50 on the dot. Another student had arrived and went to try the door and it was locked so we waited in the car. Once we saw others entering the store, it was then that we realized that the door had been unlocked so my son grabbed his guitar and we went inside. Once inside, the clerk advised that we had missed our meet and greet time and that the instructor had classes at 10 so she would not be able to meet with my son. I explained that we were here on time and that the door was locked and the closed sign was up. He proceeded to argue with me that the door was open and that we could have come inside. The manager who was on duty came to my rescue and was very apologetic. She even suggested that the clerk (who was also a guitar player) take a few moments and show my son a few things on the guitar. The clerk quickly showed his displeasure at the suggestion and said that "it was not really his job" and that "[he] didn't really wanna do it". All of this was in front of my 8-year old son. The manager did apologize but I think that the customer service in this instance was terrible. I was extremely disappointed, but not more disappointed than my son. I am writing this review in hopes that someone from the corporate office sees this and either takes the ad down or ensures that all locations will make provisions to accommodate students who are interested in taking lessons. read more

From an 89 year old tenor sax guy who played with the "big bands" and is still giggin', let me tell you this is a solid music store. Their repair man, Alex, is one of the best I have ever known. Terrible experience! Poor communication! I came in in the beginning of December to see about getting my flute repaired and to rent a cello. The guy we spoke to was very nice, he took care of everything for us in a timely manor. I was told that my flute would be repaired by the end of the week, as they were busier for the holidays, and that when the cello and book came in we would get a call. I needed my flute for a performance before the 19th, so within the week was perfect timing. We received a call two days later that the cello was ready to be picked up, I went the next day to get it, and was told that there was no record of any order for a cello rental and there was no cello there. Now, I live in New Jersey, it costs money to cross the bridge, so it turned out to be a wasted trip. No one called me about my flute after a week, so I called and asked if it was ready. The woman I spoke to said that it was only in for an estimate and that it would cost $120, but it would be ready before Thursday. I told her to approve it because I needed it by Friday. After thinking about it I called back and spoke to a guy. I told him that I just wanted to get the cork fixed instead of all the repairs. He said no problem, but it wouldn't be ready until Saturday. I told him that wasn't an option because I needed it by Friday, so he said he would ask for it to be rushed. Later on we got a call that the cello was in, again. While talking to them I asked about my flute and was told that it was finished and ready to pick up! To make up for all the problems they gave me a cello book on the house, they told me the one I ordered wasn't in, but they would send it to me in the mail as soon as they got it. After getting the cello home I tried to tune it. The strings would loosen as soon as you touched them, couldn't keep it in tune. I was fed up with the experience so I didn't feel like going back over there to get it taken care of. After returning the cello at the end of the month, we talked about the book that was supposed to have been sent to me and the clerk found it on the shelf and gave it to us. Later, talking to a manager, we were told that the book never came in, that's why it wasn't sent to us. They were very apologetic about the experiences we had and polite when speaking with them. But, overall, not a good experience and will not do business with them again. read more

This company is used by our school, please do not believe you have to rent or purchase from them. They dupe first time music parents who don't know any better. The customer service number/rental number/school rep numbers do not work. They send bills with no explanation, when they should have sent letters explaining where to return rental instruments at the end of the school year. The store in Wilmington said they wouldn't take rentals back (had to be returned to where we rented from-where the school gym?) but said they could take my payment-gee thanks. You can find used equipment for a fraction of the price-they are trying to sell you a $1000.00 instrument for an elementary school age student by "renting it first". Do your homework!!!! read more
