He was so kind, and helped us work through the details of our ceremony, music choices, and overall vibe. His consultative approach ensured that every part of the day felt personalized, from the seamless transitions during the ceremony to the perfect playlist for the reception. Rod's attention to detail was unmatched--he made sure every song choice, announcement, and cue was exactly right. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt at ease and that everything was perfectly timed. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had! If you're looking for a DJ who is professional, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making your day special, DJ Rod is the one to go with. We couldn't be happier with our experience!

My husband is extremely picky about music (his Do Not Play list was infamously 5 hours long...) and Rod worked really well with him to put together the best playlists. One of our guests was a wedding planner herself and commented on how impressed she was by our DJ in particular. The music was always right on queue, never too loud or quiet, well mixed, always matching the energy at the moment, etc. - all things she said she rarely sees done flawlessly throughout the day. We've had so many compliments on the music and particularly on how incredible the dance floor was! The energy he helped curate was pure magic, and we could not have been more thrilled with how it all turned out. We also chose to do a photo booth and it was such a hit with our guests. Athelie and their son did a great job and provided lots of fun prompts for everyone! Overall, we were so impressed with the Grapevine team and couldn't be happier with the decision to work with them. Honestly, five stars is not enough. For the pre-ceremony ("greeting" music) and for the ceremony itself we had Carl on the guitar, Jeff on the woodwinds (flute, clarinet and saxophone) and Kathryn on the cello. For the cocktail reception and dinner we added Steve, with a bass. I am a big music lover, and for me, the music was maybe even my number one highlight of what was from start to finish a fabulous wedding. Carl was able to arrange it so that the type of music that was played CHANGED for each segment of the event (mentioned above), just enough so that it all flowed together, yet each portion of the event had a distinctively different "feel" to it. I don't know my music terminology very well, but Carl explained that in addition to the wedding music used during the ceremony, they also played jazz music, classical, Bossa Nova and Variety types of music. (All of these types of music can be heard on Carl's website.) Carl speaks the "language of music" very well and was able to be specific with me prior to the event so that we were able to set the mood for each segment of the wedding exactly as we wanted. Also, he was able to tailor certain segments with special requests. My daughter had something a bit more contemporary that she wanted to use for walking down the isle during the ceremony, and for a minimal extra fee (something like $40) the group learned the music and had it ready to go. In the months leading up to the wedding, Carl was extremely helpful when it came to the logistics of what would be played and when. He also went the extra mile when deciding where the musicians would set up the instruments during the ceremony and then during the reception. This enabled the sound to be optimilized (it was an open-spaced outdoor event) and the musicians to be seen and enjoyed, yet people would not be bumping into them (this DOES happen at events if the planning isn't done right). Carl, if you happen to read this, I want you to know that my absolute "high point" of our daughter's wedding was when, towards the end of the dinner, your group played my husband's and my special request, The Ashokan Farewell. We ADORE this piece, and when your band started to play it, my husband and I instinctively got up, walked away from our dinner plates and seated ourselves on a bench near the band. I get choked up just thinking about it. It was at that moment when, fully enraptured in your music and sitting among the rolling hills of the Highlands Estate, when I was finally able to calmly take it all in and reflect. Our past, our present, and our future as a family and how it felt to figuratively release our daughter into the world swept over me swept over me like a swiftly moving San Francisco fog. Thank you, Carl, for everything. But especially for that one moment.

Lyle Lovett called the center the "Matchstick Palace" refering to the amount of wood used inside including the chairs. During the summer, there are two entrances to the venue which make it easy to enter from either parking areas. Security staff are friendly and keep the lines moving. Ushers are posted all around the venue inside and out, which makes it easy to locate if you have questions or an emergency. We sit at reserved tables on the tiered lawn just behind the open wall of the center and find it very comfortable. There is a big screen to see the performers and plenty of speakers to hear. There is even a fenced in area just beyond the theater to dance. There are plenty of food trucks and tables to purchase food and drink as well. And of course, behind the lawn is a "real" bathroom to use, nice and clean and convenient!

An hour later the system came back online - though lost my place in line. Nice one. Still managed to get some nice seats on the lawn. Parking Ingress is terrible. One lane into the lot. Zero traffic management =massive traffic delays. Event ingress is similarly poor. Untrained staff, disorganized entry. Massive delays as they enact security theater on thousands. I'm due there were people on line who would miss the entire first act while trying to get in. Food/drink lines similarly screwed up. Card readers not working, slow service, very slow throughput. No excuse for this level of service. After wet make it to our table at the front of the lawn we discover the band is in there at far end of the building - at least 150ft away!.Cannot even see the stage. This odd at concert - you are music going to watching it in projection. Nobody inside either. Just put the simmer stage at the back of the billing and make it an outdoor theater- not this idiotic double venue. Ungodly loud. Hitting over 120db on spl! Gen sorry for folks without hearing protection- this will cause hearing damage. Nice sound system, but irresponsibly loud. First class venue with third-world event management. It'sa real shame, this place could be incredible if someone who knew how to manage events took over. Take a clue and study how the Greek Amphitheaters in Berkeley does things. Maybe it's just an I'm too old/it's too loud thing. Or maybe SSU of running the potential of this resource with such tremendous potential. Truly disappointing...
