I play my acoustic guitar in a club a couple of times a month, and it takes a bit of a beating. Besides new strings, my guitar needed some work. When I walked into Loud and Clear, I was immediately greeted and helped. The next day I picked up my guitar and it felt like an entirely new and better instrument! Amazing! Greeted as soon as we came in. Stated we were there to get my guys daughter her first reeds for the clarinet for starting band. The excitement the two employees had about it made me feel like this will be our music store for the duration of music needs for both kids. She also was excited because he took a moment to explain the differences in reeds to her and how delicate they are. We looked around at the store which is more than what meets the eye from outside that's for sure! Huge selection of a variety of instruments They even have a store dog Shadow who didn't even make his presence known until we were leaving and we caught him out of the corner of our eye. I've been a customer here for over 10 years. Bought multiple instruments and other accessories, including a $1800 Taylor which I love . 90% of the staff are fantastic, especially the African American gentleman who has always been wonderful with customer service and friendly as can be. Unfortunately I will not return and will shop at Tall Toad from now on due to the awful experience with their guitar tech, Billy. The juvenile, unprofessional and menacing presence he presents at this establishment ruins it for me. The rest of the staff agree so I am not sure why the management or owner keeps him around. It's unfortunate as I live down the street so this is a convenient local shop, I'd still encourage others to shop there just avoid the obvious basement dwelling Mook that lurks around the shop wearing 1980s death metal band patches. He's easy to spot. Will return and revamp my review as soon as the shop looses the cannibal corpse, napalm death, pestilence vibe that reminds me of a bully from 7th grade. read more

He is an expert in guitars, bass', amps, drums, etc.--I know first hand because I've purchased all these things (and more) from him. I love the variety and constantly changing inventory of musical equipment that their consignment section offers. It makes this store addicting--because you never know what instrument or amp might show up on their shelf. Another major bonus of L&C is that it is locally owned by two locally grown, community-driven individuals. I had such an awesome experience here. I live 80 miles away, and this little music store is the only Cole Clark guitar dealer in Northern California. I had been trying to track down a Cole Clark for 10+ years. I talked to them before showing up, came in amongst all this covid madness and was welcomed like family. Wore my mask, jammed for a bit, and went home with a new Cole Clark angel that sounds amazing for a very fair price. We gotta keep places like this in business folks, it's such a more rewarding and human experience than the big box stores. read more

Got a great ukulele here. The staff were very helpful. Great selection of different instruments to choose from and price was reasonable.

Got a set-up on a really cheap strat copy where I had done some very minor mods on; mostly cosmetic and had to do some of the set up myself and realized I would rather be playing the thing. So for $55 it seemed worth it just to save me the time since I didn't have some of the tools I thought I might need if things got weird. Anyway, I hadn't been in there since Frank owned Zone and I was pleasantly surprised. Great staff despite the obnoxious mask nonsense and sooo much eye candy. I was afraid that they might not want to work on it (did I say it was cheap?) Not so. Dropped it off after answering all the right questions and picked it up the very next day. Patient Geoffrey let me do my checking monkey business after knocking $10 off the price and when I got home and plugged it in I realized I just got a fantastic set-up that probably saved me a day I never seem to have. Even if you have no reason to go there, do it. Music is magic! read more

Friendly and helpful staff - didn't expect so many employees to be working there and it was 20 minutes until closing. They were all pretty much helping customers which is a great sign! They have a great selection of new gear but I really liked that they also carry used equipment. They have some really cool vintage amps that are going to require me to come back and try to convince myself not to buy one or two. I really like the vibe of the store - the layout, the lighting and finishes make you want to stay and peruse. Great job to the architect/interior designer! Not stark white walls with fluorescent lighting that zaps your creative life force. Kind of small but well thought out and super clean. 6/5 stars. read more

Fantastic place! We were greeted by the owner immediately, and he checked up on us just like he said he would. I got an impromptu checkup on my old guitar, which pointed out a number of things I could fix to get it playing nice. He even recommended a good local luthier to help me out. More importantly, he was very professional with my overly chatty friend. He was kind, yet navigated the conversation perfectly to make sure his other customers got the attention they needed. He was very organized, and let my friend know exactly when he would have more stock available. He made a repeat customer today, that's for sure. read more

I was here Jan 20 2021 and was delighted by the good vibes in this musical retreat! Great moral between the guys who are extremely helpful and fun to talk to. I support local businesses all I can and you should too! Also.... They referred me to an amp repairman in back who was fast and got my troubled old 64 Fender Vibroverb amp rockin again! An amazing array of rare and unique used guitars here you don't see in other stores. If your into music, you need to go on in and spend some money so they stay around a loooong time. Zone Music / Loud and Clear Music are not the same store, but the same people and same spirit. Loud and Clear is one of the only music stores where the employees actually know their gear. Like me, they are gear geeks. I would go as far as saying that my present tastes have been molded by the staff at Zone / L and C Music. After years of buying and selling searching for the "perfect tone" I have ended up right where I started with the original suggestions from the bass department. Going to other stores like GC is a joke. Those guys are like a bunch of D students running a classroom. Totally useless and ignorant. Loud and Clear is the REAL DEAL. They know me by name and know their gear. It's a music store run by musicians. They serve the community and there is a lot of pride there. People is Sonoma County feel protective of that place, too ! read more

Everyone at Loud & Clear is so awesome!! I came in several weeks ago because I broke a string on my guitar and wanted to get new strings put on. They suggested I get a "setup," to make the guitar play better, which cost more than just getting new strings; I agreed because I wanted the action lowered. When I returned to pick up my guitar, it looked so beautiful I almost didn't recognize it! Not only were the strings shiny and new, but the neck and frets had been cleaned, polished, and hydrated. But here's the best part--Loud & Clear didn't charge me extra after all, because they said the action couldn't be lowered any more than it already was. I'm not very guitar savvy, so they could have ripped me off and I would never have been the wiser, but Loud & Clear did right by me. Unfortunately, once I got my guitar home, I noticed a rattle in one of the tuning machines. I called to ask for advice, and was told to try tightening the screw, but that didn't help. So, I brought my guitar back in and they quickly figured out the screw was stripped. Then they cut off the string, scrambled to find a new screw that fit exactly, reattached the tuning machine, put on a new string, polished the fretboard again, and DIDN'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING (even though it was probably my fault the screw was stripped)! I'm guessing most businesses are hurting from the pandemic, but clearly the staff at Loud & Clear care more about taking care of their customers than anything else. I only wish I could remember everyone's name so I could thank them by name. I do know Geoff did the original restringing, hydrating, etc., so here's a huge thank you to Geoff and all the other amazing staff members!! read more

Being a regular, it's been great to see Loud and Clear grow since it began just a few years ago. The stock is impressive. This store is big on consignments, so it's like going treasure hunting every week to see what old guitars or amps are up for grabs. That being said they have developed a great inventory of new gear as well. The staff are very friendly and not out to sell you something you don't need. When looking for new gear I always pop in here first, and I've purchased from this store on more than one occasion strictly to support a great store. read more

These guys are always incredibly helpful. I recently needed by get some strings as a gift and they asked me lots of questions and made sure I got the right ones. They also carry the drum sticks I use, and I can't usually find them anywhere else. I'm impressed with the selection they have and the staff that works there is incredible. Simply the best! I am absolutely addicted to this store and it is by far the best shop I have ever been to. Neville, Matt, and Sara to name a few are so down to earth and knowledgeable! I brought in an old amp about a month ago and after hearing that it was not fixable from their great tech guy behind the shop, I immediately was looking for a replacement and in no time I went home with a gorgeous Bugera v22 and now I am always in there looking for new pedals, gear, and anything else that will better my guitar playing experience. All I can say is "unbelievable" . These guys are great. I lost my house in Santa Rosa in early October, along with hundreds of other Sonoma county residents. I lost a few acoustic guitars and also two basses (what I play) along with a couple of bass amps and various cords, tuners, string sets and the like. I was pretty much browsing and trying to figure out how much it was going to cost me to get into another bass so I could at least play sitting in my 500 square foot rental. When I was approached and asked if I could be helped, I mentioned my situation about the loss of my equipment. I was then told about a program that was offered. The very fine people of Sonoma county had donated various guitars that would be offered to fire victims like myself for free. I filled out a very short application (for lack of another word) that explained my situation, provided a bit of information about my house that was lost and they offered me a Fender P Bass. You wouldn't believe how thankful I am at this point. With the guitar budget I had I bought a small Rolland bass amp, a cord and a small tuner. I took it all home and have made a promise to myself to try and play it every day, and to be sure to make all of the musical equipment purchases I can at Loud & Clear Audio Visual. Thank you again to all of the staff and to the generous donations made by the good people of Sonoma county and surrounding areas. I wish I could post 10 stars. read more
