I can not say enough great things about RJ. From the very beginning, RJ was professional and hilarious. He would contact us throughout the process just to see how we were and see if there was anything he could do to help. When the day finally came, he performed our ceremony and reception and it was flawless. We did not know whether we would hire him for our ceremony because our venue already had our audio needs built into the contract. However, we did not want to leave our ceremony sound to chance as it was way more important than anything else. In the end, booking him for both was the best way to go. Our guests ended up having a great time and my co-workers mentioned how amazing the music was before they spoke about the décor. RJ is also a musician in his own right and that made all the difference because he understood music in a way that a regular DJ could not/would not understand. He was able to do a mash-up of multiple songs for my bouquet toss that my friends are begging me for a copy of. It was flawlessly executed and we owe him everything for how fun our wedding was. I wish we could have stayed and danced for longer and I don't even like dancing...lol. That's just how much fun we had. He was able to marry Reggae, Hip-Hop, R&B, Motown Music, Jazz, Blues, Old School, 80's Mc's, Gospel, and the list goes on...IN THE SAME EVENT without it coming off crazy. I just got a call about receiving the audio from our event and we are super excited to listen to it and relive it. We honestly forgot that it was a part of our package and I am happy that RJ had the integrity to wait to give it to us until it was the caliber that was reflective of his brand. I was beyond impressed with dj RJ Johnson with Music4Life! I had high expectations because I had read amazing reviews about him on yelp. Sure enough, he was just as wonderful as I had hoped. His online event planner was amazing and fun and definitely helped me stay organized with my entire reception planning. I was even able to use it with my wedding coordinator and other vendors to keep everyone on the same page. RJ went above and beyond with his phone calls to parents, check-in calls and texts to me, and additional meetings to ensure my wedding reception was perfect. He even helped with some creative planning to make my wedding reception unique and special. The flow of my reception was perfect and it went exactly how I wanted it to, only because of RJ's attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to giving the bride and groom what they want. RJ was the DJ for our April wedding. He is professional and personable, not to mention he has great taste in music! His website made it so easy for us to plan our special dances and reception music. He contacted me several times during the months leading up to the wedding to make sure I was happy and had what I needed. Here is an example of how great RJ truly is: I wanted to walk down the aisle to this beautiful acoustic guitar version of "In My Life," and I couldn't find it anywhere but on youtube. RJ and his wife (who is also incredible) contacted the man in Germany, who is a composer, and asked him if he would give them a clean version of the song for my wedding - and he did! On the day of, RJ showed up very early to set up and make sure everything was ready. The announcements he made for our wedding party were hilarious and the crowd loved it. When I got married 2 and a half years ago, Music4Life was actually my second choice. My first choice booked a Quince on my wedding day and I couldn't be more happy that he did. We absolutely loved RJ at Music4Life. When we ran out of songs from out play list, he kept it going with music that was perfectly our style. He gets it. We even had a family member that was so impressed she hired him for her Fourth of July party a month later. Have you ever been to an event where the DJ's stuff malfunctions and it's mega annoying and your wondering geez, I hope they didn't pay this guys a lot of money? This won't happen with RJ and Music4Life. They're a top notch company with top notch DJ's and equipment. RJ loves his business/job and is super professional. I recommend him every chance I get and would definitely hire him again if the opportunity arose. read more

RJ was the DJ at our wedding in March, 2012. Completely agree with the other 5-star reviews. RJ is a professional. His website makes schedule planning and song requesting a breeze, and he was very easy to work with leading up to the wedding. On the day of, he arrived early to set up, played all of our favorite songs, made the proper announcements at the correct times, and disappeared into the background the rest of the time. Everything sounded great, and he gave us a CD with the audio of our ceremony immediately after the wedding. He also saved the playlist of every song that he played, and my wife and I still listen to it most weekends at home. Bottom line: I can't recommend RJ enough. The only reason I am not giving RJ 5 stars is that yelp starts penalizing people who get all 5 stars thinking they are contrived. So please consider this a FIVE STAR review. RJ has just the right personality to move your event along. His knowledge of music and sound is immense. These days, there are people who promote themselves as a DJ after buying some equipment and downloading some iTunes. But a real DJ is the emcee of your event. And that requires not only the right equipment, but the right personality to interact with your guests and keep the energy flowing in an upward trajectory. A bad DJ can otherwise ruin your wedding in so many ways. This is not something you want to skimp on. read more

The first vendor we hired was RJ the DJ for our daughter's unique rustic wedding. The music to us would be the key to this "tailgate party"theme. RJ and Maria (his lovely wife) soon became one of us. They are easy to talk with, they listen to what it is you want and offer suggestions that may be useful for your individual preferences. They really take the time to get to know you! I was fortunate to hire DJ RJ for the 2015 Greater Austin Business Awards. He was prompt, organized and detailed which made our event even more memorable. The time he invested in understanding each part of our event and had multiple music selections allowed me to concentrate on the rest of the event. If a song suggestion didn't work, he was just as happy to update the playlist to another song. Our attendees really enjoyed the evening with him as a DJ opposed to a live band we've had in the past. DJ's can make or break a dance party! Do not even consider looking anywhere but to RJ! This is the 4th wedding RJ has DJ'ed for in our large family. He knows how to keep the party going! No lag time. Each song blended perfectly into the next with music for all ages. The dance floor was full for 4 hours, and then guests were sad when it was over. Everyone has commented on how awesome the DJ was.
