I recently saw their most recent production, Our American Tragedy, and my guest and I left feeling that our expectations had been surpassed on every level. Top notch acting, set design, props, costume design, storytelling, and house service. Both the writing and research were impeccable, taking a unique spin on an otherwise overdone snippet of history, it left us hungry to know more. Please do yourself a favor, grab some friends, and treat yourself to this play before the run is over.

I'm not artist but Angela made me feel like one for the night as she patiently walked us through the steps of creating our masterpieces. My second visit was to see You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, put on by their small company of highly talented kids. The show was in the box theater, an all black room with theatre-style seating and an adorably set stage. Snacks and drinks were available (donations accepted), with a 15 minute intermission. I believe the show runs through the end of the month, and I can't wait to see what they put on next! As a lover of the Arts, it was so cool seeing such a great place for kids to come learn and perform! Shoutout to the cutest Woodstock I've ever seen!

Kelli didn't simply decide one day she knew something about performing and hang a shingle. She has the bona fides of a career at the top of the entertainment industry, most notably as the first American Eponine in the original Broadway production of Les Miserables. She also starred in the first national tours of Evita and Aspects of Love; in addition, she has sung on some of the world's greatest concert stages, from Toronto to Munich to London's Royal Albert Hall. Any singer looking to learn from the best need look no further than Kelli James. She has the track record to prove it.

I saw first hand her level of professionalism and her working knowledge of surviving in show business, more importantly, how to survive 8 shows a week of high modern-aged belting. In the years since, I have encountered (auditions or on stage) several of Kelli's students and been thorough amazed. They display great poise, investment in their craft, and in some, a greater depth of feeling than their young years should provide. Several are working professionally. One just closed in a starring role on Broadway. Everyone has a voice. If that were enough, the stars would fill the airwaves. Unfortunately, getting from studio to the stage door entrance takes hard work and frankly, a great deal of insider knowledge. Whether you're an adult looking for a refresher or a student (or parent of one) who may have a dream or ambition, you will benefit from studying with Kelli. In fact, you'll have The Advantage.
