This is my preferred movie theater, even though it doesn't have the reclining seats that some of the nearby competitors offer. What keeps me coming back is how clean and well-maintained the theater always is. The auditoriums, lobby, and restrooms consistently look cared for, which makes for a much more enjoyable movie-going experience. The employees have always been friendly and helpful, and the concession lines are usually short enough that you can grab your snacks quickly. Overall, the theater is efficiently run and provides a consistently pleasant experience. While recliners would be a nice upgrade someday, the cleanliness, good customer service, and overall atmosphere make this my go-to theater. read more

Very disappointed in Harkins Norterra's LATE response to canceling opening day tickets to Spider-Man a new day. The renovations for the CineXL was not done in time which is okay. What was not okay was informing us that our movie is cancelled 30 minutes before our movie when it was well known ahead of time that the theaters were not finished yet. I'm very disappointed that I spent my money and relied on Harkins to see this movie on opening day. Especially because we bought our tickets three weeks ago and now will have to wait to see the movie. Also, it was very odd that we were being told multiple different reasons for the movie being cancelled, from a power outage to the theater not being finished. I have some challenges with walking and cannot do steps, so going out can sometimes be difficult. Yesterday, I visited Harkins Theatres Norterra and it was a truly wonderful experience. The manager, Robert, went above and beyond to assist me. I was there with two children, using a cane, and he made sure everything was comfortable and accessible for us. Since it was my birthday, he even surprised me with a free medium popcorn, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I love how clean this theater always is! The staff at the registers are super friendly and welcoming, and booking online is a breeze. It's so easy to purchase tickets and pick your exact seats ahead of time. While ticket and concession prices are a bit on the pricier side, you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality and comfort. They also have an incredible variety of snacks to choose from at the concession stand! My only minor complaint is that I wish they scheduled more showings in the XL Cinema screen format. My partner and I purchased tickets for the 8:00 PM showing of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and arrived at Harkins at approximately 7:53 PM, only to be told at the ticket check that our movie was no longer being shown in the auditorium listed on our tickets. The explanation we received was that the change was due to their "new seats," but no one could clearly explain why the showing had been affected or, more importantly, why customers were never notified beforehand. Instead, we were told to visit Guest Services, where our options were to watch a different movie, attend a different showing of Spider-Man at another theater or time, or receive a refund. While I appreciate that refunds and alternatives were offered, that does not make up for the poor communication. We had already purchased tickets, made plans for our evening, and driven to the theater, only to find out less than 10 minutes before showtime that the movie we came to see was no longer available. What is most frustrating is that this situation could have been handled so much better. Harkins has customers' email addresses and an app capable of sending notifications. An email, text message, or app alert would have allowed us to make other arrangements before arriving. Instead, customers were left to discover the issue at the door. I've always considered Harkins one of the better theater chains, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The issue wasn't the refund--it was the complete lack of communication and consideration for customers' time. 7/31/26 10:00pm I last minute found out through the Harkins app trying to order popcorn I no longer had tickets for Spiderman Brand New Day for 10:45pm Cine1. The manager and the team at this location are useless and informed me the theater was not safe and sent an email instead of directly contacting through call or text about the inconvenience. I am frustrated since I bought this ticket over a week ago and the app has both my phone number and email. Harkins staff is unable to change tickets over the phone to another theater/time and failed to sent an email about the cancelation and supposed voucher. Manager attempted to send an email and continued to fail to sent any email. Spam, Archive and trash were checked. I requested a refund and the manager informed me refunds are not doable over the phone and I would need to go in person or they can have to have client resources call me tomorrow to get a refund over the phone and they open at 9:00am and not guarantee a set time on a call. Disappointed with Harkins Theater for dropping the ball. We try to support a local company. We were able to get seating at AMC for 11:15pm so we will see the movie we wanted opening night. Update 8/2/26 Never received a call from Client Resources but did get a refund. Received a phone call from a Harkins General Manager today did not answer because it instantly got me in a bad mood due to the day my movie was cancelled I was told they are not allowed to call people that's why they sent an email. I stopped by yesterday with the fam bam on Christmas day to watch the new Anaconda movie and it was great! It was pretty funny, we loved it. The theater itself is clean and the bathrooms were clean! The staff were friendly and helpful, the ambiance inside is nice as well. The smell of popcorn when you walk in hits you right away, loved it! We always get popcorn with extra butter, and I got an icee mixed with blue and red, my man got a soda pop and so did my son. We also got some candies, sour patch watermelon and gummy worms! I also got the jumbo chocolate chip cookie. Yum! The seats were also clean and inside the actual theater was clean. It was a nice experience we had a great time! They do keep it pretty chilly in here so I brought my harkins blanket and my son had his jacket. They also have a mini arcade in here as well, I thought that was pretty cool! read more

I'm not sure what's going on here at this location but the management and staff are discriminating teens to watch a movie with an adult present. Imagine coming with a family movie night as well and the management denying passage on made up standard policies because of age groups with adults. HR needs to correct and retrain their staff in discrimination laws! read more

About 25-30 wait to get popcorn Then, there are different registers that take the gift cards from other sellers other than Harkins. I went there with my friend. It's a nice theater. Easy self serve ticket kiosks. Then a real person scans your ticket and directs you which side of the theater your show will be located. Concessions stand straight ahead. Not pleased with the wait in line to get concessions. Should have had more employees to keep the lines moving. We barely made it into the theater as the movie was beginning. Other than that, the experience was nice. I don't understand why reserved seating when they are not recliner seats. read more

Sunday, 4/10/2022 - Went to Harkins Theater to watch "The Lost City" staring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt and others. Address is 2550 W Happy Valley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85085. This theatre is located in a shopping plaza. But I can't remember the shopping plaza name. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) plenty of parking 2) there's other little shops around the theater. So if you're still waiting to watch your movie, you can go walk around or eat. 3) you go inside to buy your movie ticket. The lady at Guest Service was so nice. 4) you get to pick your seats. 5) lots of goodies you can buy at the concession stand. The young people helping us on the other side of the counter was very nice. 6) glad there's a spot in the arm rest to put your drink. 7) women's bathroom was clean. 8. There is a game room. Cons: 1) guess I'm used to the leather, reclining chairs with the foot rest where I'm from. But the seats here don't recline and no foot rest. Just straight chairs. 2) you can't move the arm rest up. 3) lots of popcorn was underneath the arm rest where I was sitting at. Dirty. But I just used my napkins to push it off. Conclusion: Nice theatre. Roomy. Spacious. Nice staffs with good attitude and great customer service. Even though the theater seats weren't too comfortable (cus I'm used to the ones where I came from), I like this theatre. Hopefully they'll send their staff to try to pick up/clean up after each movie so the new incoming patrons don't have to go in and clean up what the prior customer left behind. read more

I'm a Harkins fan and this location delivered! While they don't have reclining seats, I still thought the more traditional seats were comfy enough and you can still select your seats online or at the box office. Bathrooms and concessions area were super clean. Staff at the box office and concessions were friendly and helpful! Popcorn tasted fresh and our movie started on time. Overall I would definitely come back to catch a movie here! One of the nicer and cleaner theaters I've been to in the area. read more

On Christmas eve, after taking a seat in the theater after the movie had started I took out my phone to put it on silence. There were only 9 people total in the theater. Literally no one sitting behind us to back of the theater,. I was waiting for my adult son, his wife and my wife to return from the concessions stand. I was accosted by Zain Nerad the Manager and told to turn my phone off. It was dark in the theater and I asked him his name. Which he refused to give me. He instead demanded that I get up and follow him outside and he repeatedly threatened to throw me out of the the Theater. The rest of my party showed up and got to witness his insistence that I had been warned before the movie started. I told him that I wanted to know his name so we could talk like humans. I showed him that my phone was on silence and he finally walked away. I have a serious cardiac condition, just 20 days since my last surgical procedure. I spent the balance of the movie wondering if I needed to call an ambulance. This kind of poor judgement is not suited to a customer facing position. read more

Comfortable seating is a big deal to me. If I'm going to spend money on a movie then I'm going to want to be at least as comfortable as I can be in my own home. In fact I stayed away from the movie theaters for years and only returned when I discovered some theaters offer luxury reclining seats. The particular seat I sat in in Harkins was also crooked; the springs were uneven so I sat tilted for two hours. Ouch. Went to see the Minecraft movie with my son. Just as the movie was starting a group of 5 - 8 teenagers and kids came and sat down in the last two rows. My son and I heard them say wait until the chicken jockey seen. When that seen started they threw popcorn and condiment packets. Rest everything is incredible about this place. Best location. Within 2 miles from our home. Super huge lobby, Best looking threatre from outside and inside both, Nicely built architecture for the screens, huge screen, lot of seats in every screen, nice selection of snacks and food which are lot cheaper than AMC. Love this Harkins! I use the app to check the movie times, you can pre-pay online or you can go to the normal line and they now allow you to pick your exact seat location with the screen. This location is always clean, has fun lights, billboards inside and is always nice and air conditioned. If you have little ones they even have a day care so you can watch a movie and your little ones can play while you watch the movie! How cool is that? Hayyyy, date night for mom & dad! You can buy a reusable cup and bring it back for lower cost drinks of $1.50 and you can sign up for the rewards program, I get a free medium popcorn on every visit with my rewards program. My husband and I had a date night here a few weeks back and until that point I had completely forgotten how much I enjoy going to the movies. Ticket prices are higher then I remember but with that being said, the economy! Haha worth it, we even got the popcorn special (if I remember correctly it was a large popcorn, two medium drinks, and a candy of your choice for $20). I really don't think Harkins Theatres Norterra 14 knows what luxury recliners are. I purchased tickets online Friday to see John Wick 4 today (Sunday). When we get to the theater and to our seats. They are the standard seats that have been in Harkins for years. To me that is not a luxury recliner. Maybe they should go to AMC Theatres to see what a luxury recliner is. I felt extremely misled when I purchased tickets. I was looking forward to the luxury recliners because of my lower back pain. I've been suffering the past couple months. I have always preferred Harkins over the other movie houses in the Phoenix area. mainly, because at one time it was locally owned. Those luxury recliners would've been really nice especially since this movie is close to three hours long. Lesson learned. Would give 0 stars if i could. The theaters are horrible and incredibly outdated. For the exact same price as a ticket to this theater you can go to the one on P83 and have 10x the room, 10x the comfort, and not feel like you fell into a portal that took you to michael jackson's thriller music video. The theater was incredibly loud, i watched the same movie in theaters twice (deadpool vs wolverine) once at the harkins on p83 and next at the one at nortera and i physically recoiled at some of the scenes because of how deafening the audio was. as if that wasn't enough i explained all these concerns to harkins in the section of the app where you can request a refund for your tickets and they called me 3 days later essentially stating that i should've talked to an employee after the movie at 12am after watching a 2 and a half hour long movie, and offered no resolution. read more

This Harkins location is okay, but that's about it. The staff was great, the location is convenient and they show first-run movies. I just don't like the old school seating. Yes, they offer reserved seats, but we typically go to the Harkins 101 or Camelview where they have recliner seats. The recliner seats are so much better. We're spoiled. Sad, I bought food and drinks, 48 dollars worth. Ella was the employee that helped me on my return when I told her I had a faulty cup and that the cover kept coming off spilling liquid all over. Favorite theater to go to especially it's so close to my house. They no longer have the loyalty shirt. They have popcorn perks it's still $30. But all you do is give them your phone number and you don't need to hold/carry a shirt around anymore. They also have harkins rewards as well. You can still upgrade your popcorn for $1. read more
