I was recommended to Musselman by my brother back in 2017. I was looking to get an engagement ring for my then-fiance and have never visited a jeweler before or even thought about the process. The ring they produced at the time was spot on with the design I wanted, and they were very professional, knowledgable, and helpful. Fast forward a year and a half, I returned to get a wedding band to go with the ring. Again, spot on with the design and it matched up perfectly to the ring. Here we are in 2023, I wanted to get an eternity band to add to the ring for our 5th wedding anniversary. They were very quick to answer the call and get it done for me. In between all of this, Ray and Lannette have both been very attentive each time I've needed new bling or when there was a repair or cleaning needed, including one time when my wife was pregnant and couldn't get the ring off. Ray came by and cut it off and they repaired it like new. As I'm located in an area that is on the way to Ray's home, he has made it a priority to avoid having me drive downtown to drop off and pick up the product... a jeweler that makes house calls! They make me feel like I'm the only client they have. Last but not least, the pricing is very competitive for the quality and service. Although I've never shopped at a standard jewelry store like Zales or Shane Co., I know for a fact I wouldn't receive the same service or quality/pricing like I do with Musselman. The prices quoted and quality of service I experienced ranged widely, leaving me exhausted and frustrated. Ray Musselman was recommended to me by a coworker and he was immediately more friendly and direct than any other jeweler I had visited. He was extremely knowledgeable without any high pressure/fear sales tactics - just straight forward, clear information and fair prices peppered in with his fantastic jokes. We laughed a lot! Some reputable places I went into barely made eye contact, it was abundantly clear that I was another cog in the wheel for them. Ray was warm and genuinely interested in my story, the story of the 75 year old family heirloom ring, he even called his wife to confirm the name of his favorite server at a restaurant he recommended for us in our neighborhood! I was hoping to have it quickly resized so I could wear it to my grandmother's 90th birthday party where I would see my entire family for the first time since getting engaged. The clincher for me was that Ray was willing to resize and fix the cracks in the ring at a fraction of the price of others within 10 days just so I could wear it to the party. Many, many years ago (talking decades) Ray custom made a diamond & emerald necklace for my mother (Daddy asked me on his deathbed to get her something she would like for Mother's Day & her May 22 birthday), It was such an amazing moment, of course. A few years later when she turned 75, I had him make a bangle bracelet for her with more pear-shaped emeralds surrounded by diamonds to match her pendant. It was gorgeous! I had originally gone into another store in the same building to have a custom wedding ring made using diamonds from my grandmothers ring. My budget was around $500 since I already had the expensive part - the diamonds. The first store was quoting me between $700-$1000 for the band, 2 sapphires and putting it all together. I knew I didn't want to spend that much and quickly turned back to Yelp. I found another Jeweler in the same building with great reviews, Musselman! I went into the shop hoping that I could make something work. From the moment I walked in until pick-up, every step along the way was perfect! I showed them my diamonds and my engagement band and let them know I wanted something that looked like a set as much as possible. The lady who helped me, Linette, was so helpful! We start talking about what I want in a ring and my ideas. Within moments, she pulled up an image of the perfect band and asks for my thoughts. It was so similar to my engagement band, I couldn't believe it! I agreed to it on the spot and left my diamonds behind for setting once the band arrived. A few short weeks later and my ring was ready! It is perfect! My diamonds alternate with sapphires and its gorgeous.
