My boyfriend and I have been really disappointed in the service we received at Sarah O. Our appointment space was claustrophobic and we were rushed discussing a custom ring. We were required to submit a $200 non refundable deposit before even seeing the design of the ring, which I thought was ridiculous. The biggest red flag was the price. With a simple custom design using a 1.5ct lab grown diamond and yellow gold we were quoted near $11,000. The stone itself was quoted at $2,000 which is insane for a lab grown diamond. We went somewhere else for comparison, and learned their price to create an even more customized ring with a larger 3ct lab diamond the cost was only $3,500. Sarah O has some beautiful pieces and most of the staff are so nice, but our experience made us wary and I wanted to share our experience to make sure other couples consider their options for comparison before paying potentially unnecessary premium prices. Do your research for fair prices for the center stones you want. Every person's experience is unique to them, I hope this was helpful! read more

Not worth it if you want a ring made properly. My sister got her engagement/wedding rings from Sarah O back when they were newer- and I love their designs so I had said for 5 years I wanted my rings from here. My fiancé bought me the Nova ring and proposed 12/22. 12/23 I took a closer look and saw that the prongs on my center stone were FAR from flush on the stone (see pictures, iPhone cameras are wild). Which is a problem because if they snag on clothes or furniture the prongs bend more and the stone can loosen and fall out. On top of that one of the halo stones was loose (video). On a BRAND NEW, never worn ring. We took it to Sarah O and they admitted fault and said of course they'de repair the ring- under the limited warranty it was all covered, but it will take 3-4 weeks. Bummer.. but glad the solution was simple no pushback... Don't underestimate how disappointing it is to tell all of your loved ones you are engaged and everyone says where is the ring, they reach for your hand and there's nothing there. I 3 weeks go by and I get the ring back, Prongs on the main stone were fixed.... But the loose halo stone... they smushed the setting from the top in order to secure the mele stone- causing the sides to fan out creating a gap from the sides of the setting to the diamond. Which ruined the symmetry of the ring and disrupted the sparkle of the halo diamonds because of the way it was sitting. (See photos) Devastated. Emailed with the new problem was told "we had professional jewelers quality check the ring so the stone is secure but if you want to we can fix this for you, we will rush it so it's done in 1 week"... Quality check the ring??? I know I said I wanted the stone secured and not loose, I didn't assume I'd have to specify that professional jewelers should fix it the right way...... I send it back. Next day, I get a call from our customer support contact.... Tells me that manipulating the metal in this way would ruin the integrity of that setting, more likely to bend and fail holding the stone- so they're recommending that they completely recast the ring. However - that will take 6 weeks. If I don't want to wait that long they can send the flawed ring back as is... assuring me the stone is secure... but what they didn't say is that- that would mean that if the stone ever fell out due to normal wear and tear ... to have it fixed they would still need to recast the ring but my warranty would probably be expired and I'd have to pay for it. So I sent it back. Nearly 6 weeks go by and I email to check on my rings status. They say it'll be done "the week of the 23rd." So that means it could be done on FRIDAY of that week when it should be done Friday the week prior - that is 6 weeks- and you should be mailing it to me ON the 23rd - you've had 6 WEEKS!!! The "week of the 23rd is 7 WEEKS" and if it isn't done until Friday that means you'll be mailing it to me the next week and be pushing 8 weeks! So I sent an email detailing exactly what I just said. And lone behold they were able to ship the ring to me the next day. I recieved it and checked it 5xs over and it seems to be fixed. Fixed so well I'm seeing flaws from the previous ring I never even pointed out were fixed: My V prongs apparently were very sloppily made the first time (see last picture) lol. Honestly comical now. They gave us a 25% discount code to compensate us for the trouble to use towards a wedding band- because we asked for it we felt like we should get something, they didn't initiate this offer- but I'm not sure I want to purchase from them again anyway. Besides they had a Black Friday sale for 20% off in November so it doesn't particularly feel like a fair recompense for being without my ring for 3 months. The good news is the Sarah O team was always very responsive and respectful and owned their mistakes. -denial would've been much worse. Just very unfortunate that it takes so much advocacy and the fact that you as a non-professional really have to double check their work and make them do it right rather than them doing it right the first time. We have a family friend who also purchased their engagement ring from here within the past year or so and while they didn't have the same construction issues their ring was A MONTH DELAYED. They had to replan their whole engagement plan. And as I mentioned my sister got her rings from here years ago and hasn't had a problem, hasn't lost a stone so. ‍ idk maybe their production system changed. I like my ring- but I bet I could find a ring I like just as much elsewhere. That's what I suggest you do. ..... *Update 5/12/25- After receiving my ring back a final time, another tool mark was left on the ring, making two dents in my setting. Sarah O acknowledged that this was their mistake, but did not agree to provide compensation for this damage to my ring to have it reset. They did refund less than $200 for previous ineffective repairs. They asked me to send it back again, but I do not trust their jewelers to remedy the issue and not cause further damage. After flying to Denver twice to design my custom engagement ring, I experienced multiple failures: -A diamond fell out of my wedding band within six days of our wedding. -A few months later, the center stone fell out of my engagement ring. -Sharp, uneven prongs continued to catch on clothing even after paid repairs. -Tool marks left on setting when sent in for repairs. I treated my rings with extreme care: I work from home, remove them for pottery, cleaning, sleeping, and even casual activities. Despite this, Sarah O repeatedly blamed user wear and charged us for repairs -- never fully taking ownership of the underlying quality issues. This level of workmanship is unacceptable for custom bridal jewelry at this price point. Consulting with friends who have worn their engagement rings daily for over a decade without a single structural failure only further confirmed how unusual and disappointing this situation is. Being told that even hair catching on the prongs could cause bending was another sign that the ring was not built for everyday life. At this point, we have made the decision to fully reset the ring with a reputable local jeweler to protect the stone and finally have a piece that will last. While the designs at Sarah O are beautiful, our experience was frustrating, costly, and disappointing. My fiance, unbeknownst to me, worked with Taylor to specially design my engagement ring based on discussions we had and input from my friends and family. I am absolutely thrilled with the end result! DO YOUR RESEARCH - Don't believe everything they tell you. I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Sarah O. From the start, the sales representative we worked with lacked knowledge and made the process feel neither personal nor special. We opted for a custom design and purchased a reasonably priced center stone. However, when we received the first CAD rendering of the custom design, there was no transparency regarding what we were paying for. We weren't informed about the type (lab vs natural), color, or clarity of the halo diamonds, and were told it was "impossible" to provide a breakdown of the halo diamonds versus the metal. They gave us a $7,000 quote for the setting without detailing any of the costs. The sales rep also flat out lied, claiming that it was "industry standard" to use natural diamonds in a halo, which is incorrect--it's actually standard to match the halo diamonds to the center stone to maintain consistency. Asking a customer to spend $7,000 with no price breakdown and inaccurate information is unacceptable. We ended up going to The Diamond Reserve in Cherry Creek, where we were quoted around $2,000 for a nearly identical setting, with halo diamonds consistent with the center stone, and a clear breakdown of the costs. Multiple other jewelers agreed that $7,000 for our setting was outrageous, regardless of the halo diamonds being lab or natural. We did not have an exact budget in mind, had we felt $7,000 was a reasonable price to pay, we would've paid it. However after being lied to by the condescending "designer" (they are not designers, they are retail sales reps), and told it was "impossible" to answer our questions - it made no sense to invest that much money, especially considering other reviews on the poor quality. It seems Sarah O needs to better educate their sales reps (they are not designers) on diamond and engagement ring standards. It also feels like they attract customers with a reasonably priced center stone and expect uninformed couples to blindly spend another $7,000 without asking questions. While I love the designs at Sarah O., the quality and longevity of their pieces is lacking. I invested in a diamond and aquamarine ring in January of this year and have since had to bring the ring back to repair and reshape the band due to the design of the ring, as it lacks a continuous band and the prongs of the ring were bending significantly. For context, I would wear this ring about once per week for a short period - this was not a ring experiencing significant wear and tear. After over a week, I received a call indicating that it would be $80 to reshape the ring and, when asked if there was a way to adjust the design to prevent this in the future, I was informed that this is a "fashion ring" not made for daily wear and that any adjustments to make the design more durable would require investment in a new, custom ring. Overall, the poor quality is not worth the cost, as this jewelry is not designed to last a lifetime of even minor wear. read more

I have huge regrets getting my engagement ring here. The jewelry is beautiful, and the store room is nicely decorated, but the jewelry is over priced and shoddy construction. In the time of had my ring, I have had to bring it in multiple times for repair. And I baby the ring, I don't sleep in it, take it off for dishes/cooking- everything. It got to the point where I just stopped wearing it because I felt like It was made poorly. Which is clearly not what any bride wants to hear- 3 years and multiple repairs. The service was belittling, telling me that this is just what happens with fine jewelry- that I should expect the prongs to break often. That is just not the case. I've been to Sarah O. on two separate occasions now (about 3 months apart), and both times the sales associates have completely ignored my boyfriend and I. The first time we went in, they were not busy at all- there was one other couple who was being helped out. My boyfriend and I walked around, perusing the cases, trying to get the attention of someone who could introduce us to the store and help us with the ring-buying process. Not only could we not get the attention of anyone, no one even bothered to acknowledge us in the slightest. I counted at least 3 associates who didn't seem to be doing anything, and even if they were, a simple "Hello! Welcome to the store, we'll be right with you" would've been nice. No one took even a second to welcome us, and instead just went about their business as if we were invisible. An associate actually glided RIGHT past us and ignored us completely. I was so turned off by the experience, we just walked out. I visited this store again this past weekend because I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Every business occasionally has its off days, and I was sure my experience would be different the second time around. Nope! Same story- not only were we not helped out at any point, we were never greeted or even acknowledged. The store was pretty packed this weekend however, and I wanted (again) to give them the benefit of the doubt. I went to the service desk and waited there for 6 minutes, as associates yet again, glided past me without a second glance. A simple greeting or "have you been helped yet?" or "we're really busy right now but we'll be with you as soon as we can" would've been great, but they opted for the "we don't need your business and therefore we don't need to acknowledge you" route. I finally was able to flag down an associate who seemed irritated that she had to show me a ring from a case and told me that she didn't have time to help me out because how busy they are.
