DO NOT take your equipment to Mustang Equipment SAT 78233 Repairs took 2 1/2 weeks AND almost cost 2x the estimate. I purchased my JD from Mustang Equip. I needed service. I read the bad reviews but tried them anyway. The Service Writer repeatedly said it would not be more than $200. The final price was $435 before I complained. $372 after adjustments. They didn't look at the tractor until I called on the original due date 1 1/2 weeks after I took it in. It sat in their "bone yard" outside for 19 days total. The repairs only took 2.3 hrs according to the invoice. They replaced a carburetor, spark plug & adjusted the tracking. An automated voice message said it was "ready" so went to pick it up. The battery was dead and the tractor was filthy. I refused to buy a battery from Mustang. They jump started the mower so I could load it. In the end I paid almost double the estimate. Waited 19 days. I got a tractor more dirty than I took in. They scratched up the rear paint when they carried it into service area with a fork lift because they drained the battery. Plus the work was sloppy. They will smile, take your money and waste your time. Put them out of business! Buy the parts on Amazon, watch a YouTube video and save time and money. M.E. couldn't even sell me a nut for my JD/Frontier Shredder. Was needing to replace a 5/8" self locking nut that worked itself off. There are quite a few on the shredder. M.E. didn't have the nut in stock. I was told that it was part of a set that was $20.57+ and that they were out of stock but could order it. Lowe's has a nut for $1.24 and the bolt I did not need was $2.08. C'mon man! I have used them for too long based on the other reviews I read. Service was unable to find a nut in their shop either... Take care of your customers and they will take care of you. Buy some bins. nuff said read more

Bought a Scag Liberty here a few years ago at the Bulverde location. I always turn the fuel cutoff off after cutting my grass and run the engine until it runs out of gas. I went to start it a few weeks ago and engine (kawasaki) would turn but not run. I took the mower to the dealer as it still has warranty (78hrs of use). They told me they would look at it and let me know what the issue was. It needed a carburetor rebuild because the needle was stuck and fuel had gotten into the oil so that had to be changed as well which i don't understand as the tank was empty when I stored it. Very disappointed with their customer service, i guess keeping a customer is not important. I have JD heavy equipment and go through the agriculture side and I can tell you it's much better than here. Won't give them another dime! Oh yeah they charged me over a hundred dollars. read more

Just took my lawn mower in to get the blade sharpened. These guys got the mower out of my car and sharpened the blade while I waited - 5-10 minutes tops. Cost ~$10.Then they put the mower back in my car and off I went. It couldn't have been a better experience. William, the service writer, is extremely courteous and kind. Thank you! read more

Do not use Mustang Equipment!! By far the worst repair shop in town. Only there to take your money and waste your time. Have taken several pieces of equipment to these guys and never once have they fixed anything. Every item i have gotten back from them just breaks again immediately. Recently took my lawn mower to them for defective engine and they told me they had to send off to John Deere to get inspected since under warranty. Finally I get a call from their manager 4 MONTHS, yes 4 months, later only to find out they never sent in my motor to John Deere and i would have to pay for all repairs even though under warranty. They also told me i could not have my fixed lawn mower back until i paid because John Deere was still going over the engine "with a fine tooth comb" so i had to wait till they were done with inspecting. All lies!! These guys are full of BS and very dishonest in what they do. His response to me is they have been in business for 45 years so i guess to them that means they can do whatever they want to their customers. If you like throwing away your money than this is absolutely the best place to go. read more

Ordered a new S240 lawn tractor with bagger attachment online and took advantage of free home delivery. This dealership got the mission to deliver. It was scheduled and arrived on time assembled and ready to go. That's the good part. Tractor was dirty, rusting in places, paint faded on metal bumpers and missing a key part. Manager was contacted as delivery guy had no role in this. Was told that it was a new piece right out of the crate but due to all the rain we've been having, rust is pretty much expected. Guess the crates are stored outside. Not sure why the paint would be sun faded though. Surely this wasn't a unit which has been sitting outside for sale for several months... Anyway, said he would mail me the missing safety part. Not what I was expecting (nor what John Deere aspires to) for my first JD tractor in 65 years. $3,000 doesn't buy what it used to in terms of a pleasant delivery/customer service experience. This place is a joke. Terrible customer service. Poor communication. Very unprofessional. Crappy work. Billed for unauthorized work. I took in an old mower to have a pull cord replaced. They called 3 weeks later and told me I needed a new engine and it would cost 1800 dollars. I laughed and told them no thanks, just replace the pull cord. About a month later, I called and asked if my mower was ready, and it was. It had been ready, but they didn't bother calling to let me know. I get there to pick up the mower, which I only asked to have the pull cord replaced, and find out they had billed me for hours of work and for parts that I didn't want done and the mower didn't need. I specifically told them multiple times in person and over the phone that I didn't want a new engine or any other work done other than what I had originally requested. I just wanted the pull cord fixed. They never even called to let me know they were going to do all of this other crap. They billed me for the unauthorized work and gave me a huge load of B.S.. I complained and they lowered the price some but I still paid way more than what the cost of only a pull cord replacement would have cost. After that, I went to their parts department and bought some parts for an echo trimmer. After getting home and after getting the trimmer apart to replace the parts, I notice that I had been sold the wrong parts. The parts were for the wrong model and they didn't work. More money and time down the toilet... Then, I go to start up my mower that I had just got back from mustang (which doesn't run or start as good as it did before I brought it in to mustang and they tore it apart and tried to bill me for a 1800 dollar engine replacement), and the pull cord snapped right away because they didn't do the job right. The bushing that protects the cord from the metal edges wasn't there. More time and money down the toilet thanks to the idiots at Mustang Equipment! I take the mower back to mustang to get the pull cord fixed again. They B.S me for a while and I end up standing around waiting for over an hour for these people to tell me how this problem was going to be handled - nothing happens. I finally get fed up and ask one of the "workers" what the deal was and they said that they would call me back.... 3 days later still no call. I call them, and they say that they think they are waiting on a part and will call me right back... still waiting for the call. I have never written a poor review of a company, but Mustang Equipment is a pathetic excuse of a business. I created this yelp account just to give a review on Mustang Equipment. I have never been ripped off and B.S.'d like I have at Mustang Equipment. You have been warned. read more

I had my Honda weed eater in their repair shop - the machine was there for 3 months - it cost $110 for the repairs - these people are not professional - it would have been cheaper just buying a new machine plus the repair weed eater is now not working and gave it away and purchase a new Shindaiwa. I will stay away from this store. read more
