BEWARE: If you want to get your bike repaired in timely manner, have someone communicate with you about the status of your bike without you having to call them repeatedly, have someone with the proper equipment repair your bike or have someone be upfront about their ability to service your bike or upfront about the repairs that are actually necessary to repair your bike...then don't take your bike to Mustang Performance.
I took my bike to the shop because it had a brake warning light and an engine noise. I explained that the previous owner said the warning light was a bad sensor. After they had my bike for a week they called and told me they don't can't figure out what is causing the noise or where it is coming from. They told me they don't have the computer to run the diagnostic so I would need to take it to the dealer to have the noise fixed. They said the brake warning light was on because my brakes needed to be replaced. My bike only has 19K miles on it but I asked them if they were sure it was the brakes and not the sensor and they said absolutely. So after another full week of not receiving any phone calls and when I do call they say they will call back and don't, I find out that they have replaced the brakes but the warning light is still on and I will have to have the dealer look at it. When I get to the shop to pay for it they said they figured out the brake warning light was on because of low fluid. They also tell me they are charging me to take the bike to the dealer even though they had my bike for over 2 weeks and shouldn't have taken it in in the first place if they didn't have the proper equipment.
Jim tells me to take it to the shop and then call them back after the diagnostic is run and he will get me a better price for the repair. They ended up quoting me several hundred dollars less and so I make the mistake of bringing the bike back to them for the repair on one condition...that they communicate with and keep me posted on the status.
So after having the bike for a week I call and they say they don't have the parts yet, they are on order. Then after a second week I stop into the shop and find out they still don't even have the parts. Not a single call during this 2 week period and apparently no concern for the delay in getting the parts or service done.
I had the bike picked up and will have it repaired at the dealer where it will cost me a little more but I've already had several phone calls and they are upfront about what is going to happen.
If you value timely service and communication not to mention an upfront mechanic then this is not the place for you. read more
