It is now over a year since creating my case. It's a simple workers comp case, and should not have taken this long. I received a letter in the mail from my employer's insurance stating that they are motioning to dismiss my case due to inactivity to pursue the case on my end. This shows that MVP Law was doing nothing this entire time, which is something I was suspecting. I reached out to my case worker and he said he would "take care of it" and never heard back about what that means or any updates, it's been over a month. This may be my first 1 star review. I worked with this group very briefly, and I am shocked by the severe lack of professionalism that I experienced within a very short time frame. I called Pasha Vafaei, the attorney, to request additional documentation after I chose to drop and end my case. Pasha was immediately defensive when I explained why I dropped the case, called me "sensitive" and "entitled", and continued to berate me for about 3 minutes over the phone until I had to hang up on him. Aside from the very unprofessional and disrespectful phone call, the group's communication is also poor. I did not receive updates on my case nor was I informed of next steps. While this has for the most part been a good experience I have to say, I have NOT had a good experience dealing with Ashely Gomez in the settlement department. Ignored multiple calls and emails of mine. All I wanted was to make sure my address is current for when the check is ready. After FINALLY reaching her she gives me attitude and says I'd need to update my address "right now", as if I wasn't calling and emailing for days trying to do just that. And then she has the nerve to read my OLD address as the current mailing one. The EXACT thing I was calling to help avoid have happen. She could absolutely not care less and I 100% see getting the check mailed to me as going to be an issue with these people. I appreciate Ryan, the actual lawyer who represented me, but currently I am only dealing with the settlement department and I am not loving it. Do I regret my choice in law firms? A tiny bit. They say your settlement is settled since January and no payment yet they keep lying about when the judge signed the papers I received mail from the defense attorney. And the lawyer just signed a week ago. When they said judge signed since March 15th. Then they get defensive when you call them out on it and quick to hang up on you. The worst place ever I recommended my co workers to this place who got let go when I did and I advised them to not proceed with them as they are disrespectful, lairs and don't communicate accordingly. When I called to check in, Carla couldn't even locate me in the system. I repeatedly told them I was available after 3pm, yet they'd call at 9am or 1pm, never leaving a voicemail. When I returned the calls and left voicemails, they simply wouldn't respond. The only way I ever got a reply was by messaging them on Instagram; yes, Instagram. After weeks of frustration, I told them that if I didn't hear from an attorney by Friday, I would fire them. At exactly 3:01pm on the same day, I finally got a call, only to be told by the attorney that I was "high maintenance." No accountability, no ownership, just blame-shifting and unprofessionalism. I've communicated with AI, team, and emails regarding the company BK and they accepted my complaint and we began with the representation process. A month has passed and I did not receive any update. It took about 4 days to receive a withdrawal letter from the attorney. The overall experience MVP (Minimal Viable Product) - Basic. Nice staff but not efficient enough to realize a company has been BK after numerous times of letting them know. Today at 11:55 a.m. I received a call and for some reason it didn't show the name of the person calling me like it usually does. it will say MVP trial lawyers. So I picked up the phone and a man says hello and says his name which I didn't fully hear and it wasn't a name I recognized he said my name and said he is my attorney. He then asked me for some type of confirmation I don't remember what it was maybe it was my birthday but I was confused because he didn't say what law firm and I told him "attorney for what?" he then became very enraged and said "what do you mean attorney for what? how many attorneys do you have? you sign the retainer don't you remember? you don't want money?" and at this point I was already suspicious he was a scam caller so I hung up he then immediately called back and began cussing at me. name calling me. saying "you don't want the $5,500 I got for you you jackass" I told him I didn't want to confirm nothing because he didn't say what firm he was from and I believed he is a scamcaller. And I told him "if he is real what is with the attitude and foul language?" he continued berating me insulting me swearing at me and said he was going to "beat the shit out of me" and he "knows where I live" and he told me "I got your ID right here in front of me" and he proceeded to say my birthday. from there on out I truly believed this guy was a scammer. I started laughing and saying "I am right you are a scammer because no professional lawyer or firm would act like this with a client" he continued to swear and say childish insults. then at the end he said the law firm he is from and I told him "let me speak to your supervisor" and "is this the way you treat your clients?" and he said " i am the owner dumbass" and that he's going to drop me as a client and hang up. My brother couldn't believe what he heard because I put it on speaker phone because I thought it was a scammer. About 45 minutes go by and I get another phone call this time from a different number I also did not recognize. But I picked it up and it was a woman. the first thing she said was she is from the law firm of MVP trial lawyers and she said her name. She said they told her to call me regarding a settlement for my case. I told her if she receive my email I sent asking about the threatening harassing phone call I received and if it was in fact an employee or was it a scammer? She said someone did call me earlier and I think she said the name was posh but I believe she was saying Pasha. I told her what happened and she was very horrified and shocked and apologize vehemently. I told her "does he work for you?" and she said yes.
