The audio felt a little far away because of the seating location, but I was impressed that it still came through clearly. The seats were comfortable enough, though nothing particularly memorable. Ticket prices were higher than I expected, especially considering the concert was not very full, but one great perk is that they offer a student discount, which can make attending events much more affordable if you're young! The best part was the person introducing the pieces - he really got into character!

A friend of mine could not go to Tahiti Fete so I went instead with one of our other friends. It…read morewas a competition, and there was also a halau from San Diego competing, so I got to see one of the instructors I know perform and some of her students. The set up for the competition was interesting. Open seating, and families were really territorial about seats, especially the ones that faced straight on. The sides were decent, but most of the performances faced one way. Debs and I got the stink eye when we walked up into the first section...it was all very funny! The emcees were great, although, I do wish the guy would stop bringing religion into the program. You can love God, but don't force it on others. The intermission entertainment, Vaughn Henry "Kealohamele" Claude Kalawa, were really good! So good, they inspired some of the patrons to go out on the floor and hula. It was great! There were retail and food vendors in the other hall. It reminded me of a very small Made in Hawaii festival. I got some tasty lumpia and pancit from Aloha & Mabuhay, although the son working the register didn't seem very happy to be there...LOL! I also got the garlic chicken and fried noodles from Lee's Waipio, and their Spam musubi was the best I have eaten in a long time. Mainland people just don't know how to do it. They were sold out of Tahiti Fete t-shirts and I was bummed, but when we were back in our seats, and the entertainment was done, one of the emcees announced there were 30 shirts available. Debs and I literally ran to the table. Overall, it was a fun day to be inspired by the young people dancing.

Shopping online for their sunglasses has always been so easy but you won't know the fit until you get it (unless of course you know what style frame you're getting already). Pretty awesome sales (always) online and in-store. Today was a buy one, get one half off. But one of my favorite things about Quay is that they offer multi-focal lenses for your purchase(s). **here's the fine print though... You must have your optical prescription at the time of purchase so they can ORDER your special multi-focal lens for your frames. You don't walk away with it but you can try the frames on before the purchase. The frames with the prescription on it will then be mailed to you. Also, did you know that you can distinguish which frames can take a prescription simply by locating the "Rx"'on the tag. Not all frames will take a prescription. Overall very pleased with the customer service and eyeglasses purchased here.

Here I am at Quay located in the Ala Moana Center Level 3 almost near the centerstage area. It was just time for another pair of shades I finally made it over and browsed the various pairs they have displayed for easy viewing and love that they have multiple desighs of the same type of style like the same shade in various color frame and lenses giving the right fit and color that you desire. As I found my pair I proceeded to check only to be told that it's buy one get one free...WHAT! Let me tell you these affordable shades are worth every penny from me and I get to have another one for free was mind-blowing though since I did lose another one a spare is exactly what I need and thank you Quay for keeping the sun out of my eyes. Candlelight concert -- DON'T. be. late. …read more Theatre entrance is closed and locked promptly at showtime so follow email instructions and arrive early. Again, latecomers are locked out...trust me :( . This theatre is small and clean with laua'e painted on acoustic wooden panels. Plus, AC (yay) (: Its steep incline of seating allows everyone a clear view of the stage. If you're in heels, beware and be careful! I'd love to see more shows here.

There's plenty of free covered parking. Prior to theatre opening there are benches under a covered pavilion to wait. Purchasing the tickets by zones is interesting as seats are free for all in your zone. However, people are polite and you are able to pick your seat with no issue. We attended the candlelight concert for cold play and imagine dragons. The string quartet played beautifully and it was more laid back with the musicians engaging the audience. They played many memorable melodies and we were glad we purchased the second most expensive zone. The theater made the experience more relaxed and homey. It was good. The theatre is older so I felt the theater is more suited for a play than a musical concert. Acoustics could have been better. We will probably attend another event at the theatre if the opportunity arises.

Who doesn't love jets and hot pilots?…read more Ok, you may not be able to meet or get up close with the hot pilots, but you will get to see an amazing display of skill, accuracy, and gut wrenching maneuvers at the Kaneohe Air Show. This 2-day show comes around every couple of years, and it's not to be missed. Admission is free, but the best way is to purchase tickets at one of the chalets so that you can get shade, water, and an unobstructed view of the runway. What's at the air show? Static displays of planes, helicopters, tanks, etc., in air performances throughout the day, EK Fernandez games/rides/food, food booths, beer tent, souvenirs, and of course, the US Navy BLUE ANGELS. It'll be a few years until the Blue Angels return to Kbay, but when they do, keep these tips in mind: 1) Buy tickets for the chalet and buy them early. They often sell out prior to the event. 2) Check the Kaneohe Bay Airshow website for general information, and pay close attention to the list of prohibited items. 3) You will be going through a metal detector and manual bag check at the entrance 4) Bring sunscreen 5) When parking, keep in mind that the closer you park to flight line, the longer it'll take to get out. Use the restroom before heading back to your car after the air show because there will be traffic, and lots of it. 6) The Blue Angels fly last, normally around 3-4 pm, but plan on coming early to the show and staying the entire day, because there will be traffic getting to the parking and at the entrance.

There are carnival rides, and many food vendors. You must purchase scrips to buy food. Blue Angels take off at 3:40pm. Their pre-flight ritual starts at 3pm. Plan to have an hour to look around, and the airshow starts around 10. However, it gets abit boring around lunch time, then the blue Angels comes in to finished the show. Overall, it was a well organized event and a fun day.
