Inferior technology and poor customer service. I cancelled in August and was told September would be last monthly payment. They billed me again in October and I have been chasing them down for 3 months trying to get a refund issued. I've called them 7 times and each time they promise to send a check in the mail. We signed a contract with Westminster Security in 2013 for a basic alarm system. The charge was $25 per month. At some point, My Alarm Center took over service. Last year, after cancelling my land line, I called to cancel the services. I was directed to customer service but no response or call back. I I called them several times before I reached a representative who acknowledged that my account had been cancelled and said she'd credit my account for the charges. Still the bills kept coming. I called again and spoke to a representative who denied that I had canceled my account. I then started receiving notices that my account was being turned over to a collection agency. According to paragraph "h" in the contract, The Company shall not be obligated to perform any monitoring service here under during any tie when Subscriber's telephone or telephone equipment or other applicable equipment shall not be working since signals to the Company are received solely by means of telephone or other forms of communication. Subscriber shall notify the Companyy immediately of any modification, alteration, termination or discharge of this Agreement or any other Agreement between the Subscriber and the Company. Failure to do so will result in discharge and release of the Company from any obligations and services here under and termination of this Agreement. Do not use this company! I've been listening to the alarm warnings every 30 minutes for 5 days now!! I've called three times to get a service person to come and fix it. Finally heard from someone today who said he can't come because he's on vacation and waiting for parts. The PARTS they need are batteries! Tells you a lot about the company if they don't even have batteries in stock. I'm doing research to find a new company. After 8 years with My Alarm Center, we sold our house and requested to have the service turned off on 7/25/19. Today is 7/31/19 and the service is STILL on and in our name. I explained to a rep that we will not be held liable if something happens to the property that we no longer own because of their refusal to turn off security services as requested. This is absolutely unacceptable! I spoke to a rep on Monday and she said the services would be turned off and they aren't. She literally hung up the phone on me. What a way to treat long time customers. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The agent that sold me the system forged my initials on the microprint where I was locked into a 36 month contract. It was very clearly not my initials. My signature and initials were on the last page of the contract. It was never explained to me. When I talked to the rep about the forgery she just said over and over again that I signed the bottom page so I was liable to the contract. I asked what they were going to do about the forgery and she would only say she wasn't there and didn't know what to do about the situation. I hope others won't make the same mistake as I! This company hit my credit card like it was a rented mule. It took me two calls, two emails and one very threatening letter copied to the security company ACS to get them to stop billing me. We had moved and you would think that after 10 years they would be accommodating and responsive. Nope. Guess they fell in love with the automatic payment. I am in the process of looking for a new alarm company. My Alarm Center has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Every time we've had to call them we've been put on hold for what seems like forever, and then passed on from one person to another constantly. The straw that broke the camels back- Last night was our 4th false fire alarm -the last two with a brand new fire sensor just installed a couple months ago to the tune of $300. When we called and we were put on hold with it blaring in our ears-until we gave up, hung up and disconnected it. Then when we called today we were told they would charge us to come out and re-connect it. Yeah, no thanks. With another issue a few months ago- we actually got a manager on the phone who PROMISED prompt service and then did nothing to follow through. We had to start over yet again through the dreaded phone tree. Seriously, My Alarm Center- take these reviews to heart. Your Customer Service is TERRIBLE. The alarm company we'd been using for over 30 years sold out their business (and clients) to My Alarm Center. In the last few years we've done business with My Alarm Center, we've had multiple false alarms due to faulty equipment and poor installation of motion and sound sensors. What's more, they don't even have their own staff here locally. The sub-contract with multiple local service companies and the employee's sent out could give two dusty craps about whether or not they do a good job. After the last false alarm we decided to cancel service with My Alarm Center. They are unaccountable, unreliable and simply just not worth the trouble of doing business with. The "24/7 customer service hotline" is an absolute JOKE. Our entire neighborhood suffered from a 24 hour power outage, and once power was reconnected our Security System was inactive. We were told to call this hotline and someone would walk us through the process of reconnecting our security and alarm system. After TWO HOURS of being on hold, I finally was put through to a technical support representative. The representative was rude, dismissive, and spent the entire call belittling me. I am a well-educated woman and I in no way appreciate being blatantly dismissed and treated like I am dumb by a company representative who was supposed to help me, a paying CUSTOMER. Instead of attempting to understand the problem and assist me in rectifying it, the tech support representative berated me for not knowing where our panel box is located, then telling me to "just make sure the battery is attached it's not that hard". The inability of this man to even slightly empathize with a confused customer was absolutely sickening. This phone call ended with me feeling beyond upset and discouraged, and my alarm system STILL not being activated. I understand that working in customer service isn't easy- but train your representatives to understand that customers aren't as knowledgable on these systems as you are and to HELP as opposed to BELITTLE and make customers feel less than. When we moved into our house we saw the alarm system but never thought of setting it up, until recently. I called your company and was transferred 3 times and was a wreck; lost, confused, scared and desperate for help. Then Gary answers the line!!! I told him our situation and what was occurring in our lives and he immediately starting providing recommendations and solutions for our family to help in this area. Gary went above and beyond the call of duty of any employee at any company I have ever encountered. He worked on our file/case diligently and swiftly and made things happen!!!! You truly have an amazing asset and he should be noticed for his dedication and hard work and I will forever be grateful that God put him in my path the day I called. I will now only use this company for alarm services and recommend this company due to my experience. Gary has remained in contact with us to ensure the install occurred and everything went smoothly. We even upgraded some features and Gary gladly assisted us without it being a hassle on my end. I just cannot speak highly enough of this man and his service! I would also like to express my gratitude for the installation gentlemen; Rusty Lassus and William Martin who came to our house and installed everything. They were so professional, personable, reliable, knowledgeable and helpful. I want them to install the additional items we purchased because they were that good! Extremely disappointed with this company. We signed on two years ago and had a working system that we could use SMS to get the status, arm and disarm the home. Along the way, they took away the SMS feature and when I inquired, I was told I had to "upgrade my package" and pay them more per month. This past Saturday, I was called because of an alert and sent to the service dept. No answer but I was able to leave a voice mail. They called me back on Tuesday morning, yes, almost three full days later. A sensor was reporting low battery. I replaced the battery on Thursday but the alert remained. I opened a case using their "Contact Us" who then emailed me and told me to remove the battery for 2 or more minutes. Still alerting..... so I called service (replied to the email but it bounced back). Service said "No, remove the battery no more than 60 seconds" so I did this on the phone with them, even telling Siri to set a 60 second timer. Same alert. The tech placed me on hold then hung up two minutes later and has yet to call back. I ended up calling a competing company who's tech walked me through the proper procedure for my model sensor and alarm.... for FREE. Alert is gone, system is back online. I'm astounded at the poor quality of customer service after being a loyal customer for two years. I'm having the competing company quote me on a new system which is better, allows me full access via phone app or web site AND is $16.96 a month cheaper! This company deserves negative stars. What a mess - poor customer service and business/billing practices that reflect the incompetence of the people running the company. I can't help but think there is something nefarious going on here. Let me explain: I did not choose this company. I originally signed up with Duncan Security in 2014 - a 3 year contract satisfied in 2017. Duncan sold the monitoring service sometime thereafter. I was on automatic billing paid thru American Express. I decided to sell my house in May 2019 and contacted My Alarm Center to disconnect my service. I was passed around from one person to another, put on hold, disconnected, blah blah - over and over again. I gave up and called Amex to stop the auto payments, which they did. I sold my house in September 2019. I informed My Alarm Center I no longer lived at the house and I refused to make any payments. The charges and threats of reporting me to credit agencies continue to this day! There is no way to stop this predatory company. I'm sick of trying to reason with them. I am going to register my complaints with any and every agency that can impact their business. Bottom line - stay away. This is a poorly/unethically run company at best. Stay away!! Like other reviews, my alarm company was sold to my alarm center. I tried contacting them to cancel my account, as I didn't want to be on a national chain. They didn't respond or pick up the phone (sat on hold for 30+ minutes multiple times, requested call backs, emailed every email address I could find). They kept sending emails saying my account was past due and would be sent to collections, despite the fact that I had been trying to cancel for months. After sitting on hold for 40+ minutes one day, they said I owed some random amount of money and since they had no record of me calling/emailing, it was my issue. I have been a customer of My Alarm Center for over 10 years. Earlier this year I had a completely new system installed. I shopped around and found pricing was competitive but their equipment and Labor warranty is one of the worst in the industry. I took a chance and signed a new agreement; guess what? One of my 2Gig access systems froze. I submitted an online request for service as well as called. I received an email advising me I would be called back shortly, but have yest to receive a response (six hours). My account was sold to My Alarm Center from another alarm company, and when I tried to contact My Alarm Center for technical support regarding the alarm chirping non-stop in the house for months, the wait was extremely long - first time I called, I hung up after twenty minutes; second time I called, I waited more than twenty minutes again before using their call back feature; third time I called, I waited about forty minutes. How is this even acceptable for an alarm company. The rep I spoke to said she was going to email me information about the trouble shooting code meanings but she did not email them to me. We had the a signal from the alarm and had to wait over 20 minutes before the technical service group at My Alarm Center responded. One would expect a much quicker response from an alarm center. Thinking of a cancelling! As a result of this posting I received a note back asking me to get in touch with their customer service group. Shoddy operation, stay away!!!!! I've tripped my alarm by accident three times over the past couple of months. After the third time, I called their monitoring center and the lady said they had no record of the alarm being tripped. I'm paying $100 a quarter for a crappy monitoring service which doesn't work. THESE GUYS ARE BAFFOONS!!! I have two years left on my contract and they want $500 for me to cancel. Screw that! If I were to pay for monitoring, it would be $800 over the next two years. Avoid this company. Was with them for years then when I needed to change the phone number they tried to charge me $$$. Customer service sucks. Also when i finally arranged for a tech to come out they made me wait 3weeks. I took off work. They were supposed to be here 10-12am. They called and said now after 12. Then they called and said 4pm. After 530pm they said they were not coming and to reschedule for 3weeks away. Just go with Simply Safe security system and save your blood pressure and avoid My Alar OK now it's 3 days later. I talked to William from My Alarm Center and he coerced the installer supervisor to repair the system as promised and not wait for another 3weeks but in 3days. William took charge of the problem and had an installer come out and fix the issue. Therefore, I've changed my review from 1 star to 4. They are either scam artist or just incompetent. Have been a customer for 15 + years. Never had an issue so system was always in he background. Recently had a smoke alarm fail. Called My Alarm Center and was told that I could put up with the false alarms till we could be put on the service schedule or change the detector out and call to confirm a Jew detector was in place. Did the latter and called as instructed and now told that only their alarms work and only when installed by them. Called custom support and told it might be connected and if I could light a small fire they could test the system. Also told that the communication system for the system will be outdated and I should schedule service for an upgrade. Then told our wired system was not connected but it was the 15 year old alarms that were battery run that were connected to the system. When I tried to explain that it's always been the wired alarms that are on our system the remediation rep became rude and condescending. Appears she thought smoke alarms 15 years ago all were wifi. After 6 phone calls, numerous emails etc I still have not been able to cancel my service and I get the run around each time I call. Three months after selling our home we are still getting calls when the alarm is set off by the new home owners and are we are still receiving bills for monitoring a house we no longer own. My Alarm Center has been wonderful! I haven't had many issues but when I did someone from customer service stayed half an hour after the line closed to help me trouble shoot the problem. She even gave me her cell number so I could text picture of the sensor's location. After experiencing financial difficulty, My Alarm Center has worked with me so I can keep my alarm. We tried to talking to customer service and they are not helpful. I asked to speak with a manager but they would not let me do that. WHAT??? I am currently in the process of trying to cancel service but they want us to pay them the rest of the 3 years of monthly service left! My alarm company switched me to My Alarm Center. I changed my home phone provider and after 6 months noticed my phone was trying to call some number 10 times every hour. After calling My Alarm Center they told me I needed to switch to cellular service. I did that and the system is working but it is still trying to call the number and tying up my home phone for several minutes every hour. I called My Alarm Center to schedule another service call and waited on hold for 30 minutes. They then transferred me to another company to schedule the service but I was sent to voicemail saying I was calling after hours even though it was 2 hours before their closing time. I called My Alarm Center back but just got put back into their hold queue. I then tried to send a message online but their web site failed. In short, getting through to sales but getting support is hard. read more

I have NO complaints! So far everything has been working well and if I have any issues I email customer support and get back immediately and do there best to resolve the issue. This has been the best customer service I have ever dealt with. As for the product, We use the 2GIG panel which I love due to the Cell service sense our cable is spotty in the area. I can access the alarm panel from any where and set scenes to help us with lighting and notifications especially sense we have contractors working in the basement, I have a notification set for when they open the basement door and close it. I think a one is an overly generous rating. Besides gross incompetence in monitoring they have gross incompetence in their billing services. I wasted multiple days addressing their incompetence and they continue to make mistakes. We fired them as quickly as we could and have another company. When they decided that our system was not working because it needed "updated" they wanted us to pay a tech for new installation AND charge us $47 PER MONTH more, even though we had a three year contract. We had already paid their chosen tech $90 to check out why our system stopped working, AND, after numerous phone calls, where one has to wait and wait and wait, they still charged us $35 to break the contract!
