I wasn't planning to buy myself anything, but everything was so cute, and the prices were so good that I couldn't help myself! Shelle was beyond generous with her time, and was remarkably helpful and patient. We both ended up buying a bunch of stuff and we are already looking forward to coming back next year. This is going to be a pilgrimage destination from now on. Shelle was the most attentive and kind salesperson I have ever met. She even helped us find where we were going to have lunch (great recommendation, by the way, thank you!). We will absolutely be back. And, slightly off topic, I look so cute in my new clothes. Lots of compliments. Shelle quickly figured out my style and preferences and helped me find some really great stuff. The name of this place is called, "Crazy ladies" and that best describes the staff. I enter, there is one woman sitting on the floor, NO mask (violating Salt Lake County mask mandate. I inform her that I'm there to pick up packages from Wish. She is clearly flustered and mutters something about her phone not working, the application crashed her phone and that she has to use the tablet. She told me she would get to me in a minute, no one else is in the building but two staff members buried in a landfill of used merchandise in the back. The girl behind the counter, the Daughter of the owner continues to tell me her life story. I didn't ask, she just unloaded her emotional vomit. She started with how unorganized this shop is, how difficult these Wish orders are to organize. She then tells me that she's having a hard time in life, she just got out of mental rehabilitation center. She cut off two toxic friends, one was her Ex and he told her she was going to Hell. He's the reason that she ended up locked up. Don't forget her story about some Barbie clothes she ordered from Wish and how they were too small, the torso was too high and the bow fell off a dress she ordered, it was only glued on. Y'all, I haven't said a word, I couldn't get a word in even if I wanted too! I am trying to be patient, I offer to help her find them. It's now been 20 minutes and this female is about to have another breakdown. She has divulged all of this personal information, as I'm standing there, WITHOUT my packages. I asked her if she was working alone, she said two other people were in the back. I have now put my sunglasses on, I see a male and a female in the backroom. I kindly inform them that girl up front is having yet another mental breakdown. The girl in the back said something snotty, I told her to get moving, I'm in a hurry! I walk back up front, the girl is in tears, has her Mother (the shop owner) on speaker phone. The two other employees have now come up front and tell me they're calling the cops. I laughed and then gave them the number to SLC dispatch from memory. I didn't threaten anyone, all I was there for was to pick up my purchase. Anyway, I leave and I'm not even to my car yet and I receive a message from Wish that my order can't be delivered and will be refunded. Are you serious? You couldn't do your job, look in the bin with the J on it and find my items? Yet, you can report that they can't be delivered? This place is the most dysfunctional, overly emotional, filthy location that fits perfectly on 300 West and 1200 South. STAY FAR FROM THIS PLACE, if for no other reason that you're sanity. These people are exactly what makes this World a complete failure. Since it won't allow me to reply to the owners ridiculously inaccurate assessments of today's event. I have never been to this store before, as she attempts to bash my character, now that's slander. NEVER, did I say that I would not get in trouble. I know the law and I didn't break it. Second, It is beyond hilarious, that the front agent couldn't hold her composure long enough to figure out how to do her own job! This place is white trash at the core! Oh and dear, I am the Daughter of a Cop, of there was an issue, they would have been there! Lol! For future reference that number is 801-799-3000 (one again by memory, check the tape and recording! Oh and I didn't walk in the back, I pulled back a curtain and interrupted more family members that were slacking off. Tl;Dr: A purchase at this store was a giant headache. The store owner is a very poor communicator…read moreand did not honor the original agreement despite repeated requests to do so. I won't return. This turned out to be such a strange interaction with Urban Vintage. I bought a lamp ($300) and was told when I purchased it that rewiring and new hardware (harp) were included if I wanted that. (See original review). I definitely did want that as the cord and the hardware were quite aged, unsightly and somewhat corroded. I left the purchased lamp at the store and waited for the work to be done. A few weeks later I received a text from the owner, Brett, who then called me to argue that a 40 year old lamp doesn't require rewiring. He spent 5 whole minutes explaining how the technology is the same today as 40 years ago and then asked if I still want the wiring replaced, to which I replied yes. He then told me it will be $50+ to replace the harp hardware and asked if I plan to use the existing shade (which the lamp did not have when I was in the store at the time of purchase) or if I would need a different size harp for a different shade size. I didn't need a shade and didn't know one was included when I purchased the lamp since it didn't have a shade on it at the time, so I asked if I could get a discount on the harp replacement (that I was originally told was included). I asked this question three times and Brett never answered my question. All he would say is that the price of the lamp is the same whether I take the shade or not and that I can choose the harp size I need when I come pick up the lamp. When I went back to the store to pick up the lamp, Brett told me that they had already chosen the right harp size and placed it on the lamp and it should not be changed and that I should not use a different size shade. I then asked how he determined that and he said it's based on the shade size, removed the existing shade and turned it on its side and said the diameter of the shade should be the same height as the lamp. But the shade was 4 inches shorter than the lamp. Oops. So then I asked why he's included a shade with the lamp that's too small based on his own explanation. He then went in to an elaborate explanation using an example of another lamp in the store from the Netherlands with a mini pleated shade from the 1980s as an example of how it's all just an artistic expression based on his lamp expertise and I should just trust him. This was the most convoluted and unnecessarily complex interaction to avoid any further discussion on changing the harp size that he had previously asked me to choose a size for, that I had previously been told I could customize, for the original price of the lamp, which again, was $300. I paid the additional $56 for the harp that was chosen for me, and got out of there. Needless to say, I won't be a repeat customer.
