When I asked about it, I was told it was normal. A few months later, I lost a diamond from the band where one of those thin prongs was. I decided to get a second opinion and went to Fast Fix. Tony was absolutely wonderful. He took the time to explain exactly what my ring needed and how he would repair it. He took amazing care of it, and now it looks brand new! It also feels so much more secure. The replacement diamond was matched so perfectly that I can't even tell which one was replaced. We'll continue coming here for all of our jewelry needs. My fiancé and I stopped in to get my ring resized, and I've honestly never experienced such unprofessional and rude service. The older gentleman who helped us was incredibly dismissive and condescending the entire time. I kept explaining that the ring felt too tight, but he insisted I was wrong and said "no it's not" multiple times. When I asked to try a size up, he said he'd have to charge me more and kept arguing that I didn't know what I was talking about. Even when the larger size clearly fit better, he continued to put me down, made rude remarks about the ring's quality, and told me I'd "be back to fix it." Tony has been taking care of my 30 year old wedding set for about 6 years now. He has replaced prongs and recently resized for me. A lot went into getting the ring to the correct size. I waited a while to write this review, to test the repair. I went to Tony to get my engagement ring resized. As I am not a jeweler I was clueless to all the work that would have to be done to make the ring smaller. Tony was so easy to talk to. He explained everything he was going to do and why the process would take longer than the usual 2 hours. Tony is an expert when it comes to jewelry and takes pride in his work. He knew what size my ring should be just by touching my finger. After 4 hours my ring was ready the same day! Granted I went early in the day. When I went to pick up the ring it was clean and polished. He had me inspect every stone on the band and even made me look at the main stone to make sure it was the original diamond. After wearing it daily for the last month it still looks perfect. No loose diamonds and the ring is still strong and round. I will definitely be coming back for future jewelry repairs. read more

I have an approximately 80 year old Vacheron Constanin collectible Swiss wristwatch (1940) that was losing 20 minutes a day and would stop if turned upside down. Tony and his team took the entire watch apart three times, cleaning everything, finding replacing parts that are no longer available even from the manufacturer until they had it so accurate it was less than a minute off after 5 days and was so clean the 80 year old watch and crystal now sparkle. Yes, I paid $37 to change the battery in my Invicta Swiss movement watch that I seldom wear. I could have spent $8 someplace else. Tony is a pro jeweler. Talk to him for 2 mins and you'll either hate it or love it. He steam cleaned my watch and sealed it back up, perfect. And he's not just a watch fixer, he c does it all. So if you want to trust your jeweler, Tony is the guy, the guru, the Best. He's in Southtown Mall by Macy's downstairs on the 1st floor. I almost didn't do this, but now glad I did. I always make it a point to visit a business at least twice before writing a review. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I haven't had to come back since the first visit for quite awhile, so I wasn't able to write a review...until now. For both of my visits, I was well taken care of. The first time was to remove some links off of my Seiko watch, so it would fit my wrist a bit better. The second time was to replace the battery in the before mentioned watch. Service was quick both times, and prices were also reasonable. When replacing my battery, the person taking care of my watch also cleaned out the inside, which was great. I haven't had to have anything extensively repaired here yet, but for quick fixes/modifications, I would definitely come back here again. read more

I've had batteries repaired in my watches here for years, and the service was fine. But, years ago I paid extra for a card when I got a battery replaced that was good for free battery replacement for that particular watch. Next time I brought the watch in and showed the owner the card, he got upset and told me he didn't give those cards out anymore, but would honor the card. A few months ago, I took a few necklaces and bracelets to be repaired. One bracket means a lot to me, and the safety clasp wasn't working. After the jewelry was repaired and I got it home. the chain on the bracelet mentioned was so short after removing the clasp, I couldn't get it on. I took it back and asked if they could just add a link to make it longer. The owner acted like it was a big deal even though just looking at the bracket you could see it would only fit a baby's wrist. Again, I had a punch card I was given there that gave you a discount on repairs/batteries after 5 (I think) punches. When I took the jewelry mentioned above in for minor repairs, the owner said I didn't need it because he was giving me a discount on "this and that." I'll admit I don't know if he was giving me a discount on the services or not, but don't give out discount cards if you don't want to honor them. I'm going to find a jewelry repair that has better customer service. read more
