Great local bar with good drink prices. Small video poker area. Karaoke on Tuesday and Friday nights.

You could tell that they were quite short-staffed. I felt sorry for the servers, as they were moving nonstop. It took a while for the waiter to get our order, and then to get the check to us. Their staffing situation needs to be fixed, and pronto. It really detracted from the experience. We had several appetizers. The bacon wrapped shrimp were presented in an entertaining way, hanging on a rack. They were delicious. The zydeco eggrolls were probably my favorite thing the whole night, excellent excellent excellent. I had a cheeseburger. It was a decent, but a bit too heavy on the salt. My date had the hot honey pepperoni pinsa; I tried a bit, it was great. The other couple dining with us had shrimp and grits, and the catfish. They enjoyed their dishes, complementing the food well, no complaints. All in all, a good meal. Just please fix your staffing situation, Lumora.

We started with the chicken wings with honey barbecue sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. Next were the bacon wrapped shrimp and these were one of my favorite items of the night. The hot honey sauce was so good and the presentation made them even better. The cheese pull and sauce dripping down really sealed the deal for me. Easily a 10/10. The brussels sprouts completely surprised me because they were SO good. They were topped with pecans, cranberries, pepper jelly, and parmesan cheese, and all of the toppings worked so well together to elevate the flavor of the brussels sprouts. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I've been back just for those alone. 10/10. I also tried the Bayou Mac & Cheese which was creamy, flavorful, and cooked well. My only complaint is that it was topped with tomatoes, which wasn't listed on the menu, so I would've asked for it without them, but no big deal. We also had the Cajun Pasta which was good as well. Everything came out hot & Overall, the service was excellent, everything we had was really enjoyable, and the experience matched the aesthetic of the restaurant. I'd definitely return.

It's a super cool, modern atmosphere with a very comfortable yet /modern feel. On this trip, we had the Charred Artichoke, which came out with perfect char yet tender hearts. Tasty with an onion/garlicky cream sauce. We had two show stoppers...1. Crispy Cauliflower is in a green-onion/chili-oil/harissa-type red slather. Sooooo good! Then, the VERY BEST 2. Avocado Panzanella: the best I've ever had in America and my best panzanella period! That says a lot as I LOVE them in restaurants globally, including Southern Tuscany/the Isle of Sicily. It's an avocado lover's dream, with plenty of this star ingredient of many chunks of avocado(zero skipping here!), crunchy bread pieces, sun-dried tomatoes, etc., in a creamy, slightly hot honey vinaigrette (I believe). There is a Bay Scallop Aracini we have to try next time. It sounds Great! I LOVE a Bolognese because it takes 12-16 hours to cook/smolder/meld. The Bower takes such time & it's very apparent they care to smother it with plenty of porky and beefy goodness. Amazing entree‼ Lastly, our dessert was a Dark Chocolate-type tort. Not sure if it's "flourless," so I don't want to say that in case you're on a flourless diet. But, if you can, it's fantastic. Thankfully... Not too sweet at all. It's perfect, and I'm not even a typical chocolate person. Pls geaux...youll be very satiated!!!

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

How do you categorize a restaurant that offers a full menu of Mexican food, a full menu of Italian food, a full menu of local fare and American classics, AND why not throw a little Asian food in as well. Now, do all of it VERY WELL, and you have quite the conundrum when you sit down to eat. "What am I in the mood for?" Luckily, you can mix and match to your heart's desire. Garbage nachos and Thai ribs? Sure! Chicken alfredo with a couple of tamales? No prob. A good steak with a Cuban quesadilla? Why not? The possibilities are endless. Now, mix in some killer drinks, and we're talking about somewhere you'll want to bring all your friends who can't decide what they want. It's all there for them, and if they can't find something at Blue Tomato, you might want to reconsider your friends. The service staff at BT is wonderful and homey. I always feel like a local when I eat there. It's comfortable and quaint whether you're eating seared tuna with a margarita or a batch of wings with a Mic Ultra. Lunch is actually my favorite time to visit. Quick service and reasonable prices make this a lunch destination. You might need to ensure you have a refrigerator at work though...the serving portions are generous. So, what are you waiting for? Is it lunchtime yet?

For our fourth wedding anniversary, we chose the four-course menu and had a true five-star experience. Restaurant August excels at hospitality, and the dining room's warm tones create an inviting atmosphere, especially after sunset when the chandeliers and candlelight begin to glow. We also appreciated how thoughtfully the wines by the glass paired with the menu options. Honestly, we struggled to choose a favorite dish because every course was memorable and beautifully executed! The setting is stunning. A beautiful open dining room inside a historic building. While we waited in the bar for our guests to arrive, it was clear this was a polished operation. The service team carried themselves with a level of sophistication you don't see everywhere. We chose the four course tasting menu, where each course offers three options. With four of us dining, we ordered every option and doubled up on one we thought deserved a larger portion. First Course Tuna Crudo Wagyu Beef Tartare Grilled Gulf Shrimp Second Course Gnocchi "Black and Blue" Crawfish Tartlet Diver Scallop Third Course Irodori Wagyu Manhattan Strip Snapper Pontchartrain Dry-Aged Duck Breast Fourth Course Tarte à la Bouille Hummingbird Cake After Dinner Mint Course after course, the food was outstanding. Creative, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The only item we would not order again was the After Dinner Mint dessert. It leaned a bit too heavily on the mint. The wine list is impressive. We ended up ordering three bottles over the course of the evening and enjoyed each one. One issue kept this from being a perfect experience. The third course, our entrée, took 46 minutes to arrive, compared to about 15 minutes between the earlier and later courses. There was no proactive communication from our server. I had to flag her down to ask, and was told it was on the way. That delay stretched our evening by close to 30 minutes, and there was no acknowledgment or effort to make up for it. If I'm scoring it, the food is a 5 out of 5 without question. The service, because of that lapse, was closer to a 3. I'll meet in the middle and give Restaurant August a 4 overall. Even with that hiccup, this was one of the best meals we've ever had in New Orleans.
