I tried to share my frustration my FICO is 800 my husband needs help Jocelyn started in February then in May told she is too busy so it is my husband I have to explain we are starting all over again after telling him that with Jocelyn from someone else who dropped the ball. I told him I had a short time to hear what he needs and what he can do for my husband. He said "I feel a lot of hostility and anger I don't think we are a good fit and that we can work together". Did he ever hear the phrase the customer is always right? I was sharing my frustration and only wanted reassurances he is a professional and can take it to the finish line. I was not going to beg for his business I saved him the satisfaction of hanging up on me so I hung up on him. My Credit Guy will be getting a very bad yelp review for poor customer service. Josh may be overly sensitive to my being upset for this process of taking so long and having to start over for the 3rd time because my husband's daughter could not help and then Jocelyn dropped the ball and now "My Credit Guy" can't deal with someone frustrated to start over again. Do not waste your time with these people. I spoke to 4 different people in the 2.5 short months I allowed them to BS me. They pass you around like a bad habit and each one calls themselves a team. I had one specific debt I needed help dealing with and they screwed that up! I first talked to a guy who sold me my plan then I spoke with another guy who set me up with some girl who wrote me three emails in 2 months. Finally when I was supposed to have a conference call with the lender I needed help with, they put me with a girl who knew NOTHING about my account! They say they negotiate for you but that is total garbage! The lender said my account needed paying in full, and the girl whom I just met via telephone and was completely ignorant to my situation, asked "What would you like to do Mr Johnson?" That's it????? That is the totality of your negotiating? There was no negotiating there was NOTHING!!! read more

In short - waste of time and money. I was hopeful when I hired them because of the person that referred them to me. I'm not sure if I was placed with a new agent, or what happened - but after a couple weeks, I received an update with zero changes to my report and recommendations to "pay the collections." In my initial call, I specifically asked about collections and how they're dealt with - you don't pay collections and I made it clear that was not my intent. When I began questioning her recommendation and asking why she wasn't disputing based on FCRA violations, I was told to tell her which ones were violating FCRA and she would dispute them. That's literally what they were hired to do; the only thing she removed was a positive tradeline. I logged in to see no credit report was ever pulled except the initial one during the consultation. I cancelled services and ended up having to dispute the charge. A manager called and emailed (prior to the disputed charge) and I returned his email declining to speak since he should have the emails/documentation to easily follow what wasn't done. He told me he would not issue a refund because "services were received" and he couldn't find documentation of the removed tradeline (because he can't log into my credit report anymore, but they would have seen this if they would have pulled an updated report prior to), leaving me no choice but to dispute the charge. read more

I joined around this time in 2021 to help facilitate bringing down some hospital bills in collections that ruined my credit and hopefully bring it up a bit. First person I talked to was very helpful and knowledgeable, so i joined. I was paired with Cody. Cody never returned my calls or answered questions. Cody did not even attempt to negotiate with the collections departments (I called them and no record of him calling them) and told me they were not able to budge on the debt. I finally got a hold of Stacey (another rep) who was upset for me and decided to take over my case, great. Nope. All she did was bill me and ask the 3 creditors to forgive the debt (they did not) but ended up settling for a lower price...couldn't I have done that? I asked her if she could send me a list of what she had done for my portfolio in the last month and she dodged the question everytime. I was so frustrated to the point where I had to tell her I'd call her back just so I could calm down. Who dodges a simple question like that repeatedly? 2 calls with Cody, 3 calls with Stacey, out $750, and 3 months later - no change on my report AT ALL. So disappointing. Called to cancel with them and talked to Sherry Woods (upper management) she was very upset with my experience and apologized for how poorly the team treated my case. She said there were many staffing issues and they were in the middle of a "transition"...whatever that means. 2 stars simply for Sherry who refunded me $250 and seemed genuinely apologetic. read more

Takes a week to get any communication. Never respond to emails. Majority of them don't know what they are taking about and it's expensive. You are absolutely better off going to a cheap credit repair company that goes dispute happy. I literally have a debt that I can't find who owns it and is reporting it but in the several months I've worked with this company they can't get it dropped off. I really wish I looked up the reviews on Yelp first. I feel as though I have jeopardized my future. I highly do not recommend my credit guy. I will say every single person I have ever spoken to or worked with is so friendly and so kind. You do not ever need to chase anyone down or wait on responses. Very nice! I wish every establishment had these employees there. As far as my credit goes, I began in may and was charged $399 in June. Then I paid $90 a month after. Plus they asked that I enroll with identity iq for another $30 a month so they could monitor my credit. So all together $120 a month that I have paid each month. I have been paying the last 3 months and after canceling I still need to pay another $90 as they apparently collect after the month of "work" Fine. So clearly after 5 months and $879 later my credit score is about 20 points higher. I was continually told I would receive letters in the mail regarding my credit disputes and I never received a single one. I was forwarded one from my credit guy and when I contacted the one business they had no idea what I was talking about. I feel like I have been jipped and scammed. The only thing that has helped me was getting a secured credit card. So I highly recommend just obtaining a secured credit card and keeping a low balance which credit karma told me for free. I was hoping to have a great experience with this company. I called 3 times over a span of 3 or four days specifically to sign up regardless of cost. No on called me back. I was sent to voicemail each time. Someone texted me and I replied but they never text me back. The owner finally emailed me back which I really appreciated... his team, not him, let me down. I recently signed up for this service as my credit report had been holding me back from literally everything in my life. So far i have been using the service for one month and they were able to drastically increase my score more then lexington law was able to accomplish in 6. There initial fee is a little steep but after that there service is more or less about the same price as the other credit repair companies charge. I have been reading a number of 1 star reviews for mycredit guy and in my opinion it sounds like it is very hit or miss with their agents. Erin has honestly been great. She returns my phone calls, is helpful when I need extra time to complete tasks on my end, and has been very patient and understanding towards my situation and constant questions lol. Ive read reviews where people say they were coercered into paying the extra 20 a.month for identity IQ to pull their scores. I am not tech savvy and am the type of person that would rather know that my reports are getting pulled when they need to be without me having to do anything then spend time trying to get them myself and email the PDFS but, thats just me. After several failed attempts i called back and asked what i could do to fix the situation and only then was the extra service just suggested to me. I didnt feel pressured to buy it at all i was just glad it got fixed in time. The day after i looked at my new projected scores and.almost couldnt believe it. I am only 50 points away from my goal and if they can keep bringing it up at even half that rate I will be able to purchase my home way sooner then I thought. Basically to sum it all up. The close to equal ratios of terrible reviews to great reviews leads me to believe its all about they agent they assign to your case. This is always subject to change as i just started the service recently. But Erin has been very kind, proffesional, understanding, and helpful throughout my experience with the service. If i called and got no answer i have always recieved a call back the same day and my emails have all been answered in a timely manner. I asked for a copy of the letters or any other proof, and they would not respond. I contacted two of my credit card companies and my mortgage lender directly, and they all related that they never received any paperwork/letters from this company. Over $300 waisted on NOTHING. I decided to try this program after it was recommended to me by a relative. I started in 11/2020. I paid the upfront fees, and then they told me that I also needed to pay an additional $20 to use their credit reporting site so they can pull my scores every month. Very odd considering this is a program designed to help better credit, a very expensive one at that, so they should cover those fees. A red flag right there. It's been 4 months, and my score has dropped by 40 points. 40 points!!! All they did was reopen a bunch of accounts that were written off and on my credit for about 10 years making my score drop. I am being told I am now late on all of these payments by a month because they reopened these accounts. Some of them were written off as bad debts in 2015-2017. I don't understand how a company can charge the insane amount of money they charge, and not get one single thing removed off of my credit in 4 months. I don't understand. I am sick so I typically don't have the energy to do this myself so I figured I'd pay someone. Nope. Not worth it at all. Please go somewhere else and don't waste your money. read more

After only 3 months into the program I'm now in the mid 7's. The amazing thing for me was the fact that I had a tax lien on my bureaus that was past it's statute of limitations and needed to be removed otherwise I couldn't buy a home. This credit repair company has been exceptional. They do a lot of work on their end but, you as a client, have to do work on your end as well. They give you the tools needed to get your score up. As they dispute negative items every month it is up to you to maintain credit limits (10% of your credit card(s) limit) responsible and make on-time payments. As the items get repaired or deleted you will see your score rise month to month. Everyones situation will be different and not everyone will see the same results. My credit score in 2016 was a 498. I joined My credit Guy in April of 2020. Since then, my Trans Union went from a 590 to a 663, Equifax was a 580 to a 688 and my Experian score from a 498 to a 703. I had a lot wrong with my credit, 8 negative items and only 2 positive debts. In 5 months i have 0 collection accounts and my score has gone up. They could not delete everything and i did have to pay to delete 3 items but over all this experience has been nothing short of awesome. Fixing credit takes time, so do not expect to have perfect A 1 credit with in the first month or so. I did this program so I could get a mortgage loan and although i am still working with this company, it wont be long now before I buy my first house. Would I recommend My Credit Guy to someone? The answer is YES!! If you have trash credit and want to take ownership of the bad choices you made in the past, take the journey and get your credit fixed. You wont only be happy you did, but you will be proud of yourself for achieving great credit scores. read more
