That reflects the zero effort put into my representation. When I had my initial meeting with them they summarized the same exact terms of the stipulations this was even after I gave him my financial profile as I'm retired living on Social Security with no additional income with both my income and bank account exempt from garnishing or levies. I was looking for a payment plan or settlement that included dismissal of this suit. I understand the representation was limited in scope & the attorney stated more than once the $796 I paid him was nothing & other firms would cost double for this but not to the point where there was zero effort in an attempt to negotiate which by the way per the retainer does include negotiating. Regardless of the back story the end result was this firm who was supposed to be representing me and my interests to some extent was pushing me on July 7th to sign a Stipulated Judgment on a case that had been dismissed on July 2nd. That's an enormous mistake.

My partner and I were represented by this firm in regards to the 2015 (completely settled in 2018) real estate related civil suit filed in Maricopa County, AZ. This firm consistently generated on their own, and sent me MULTIPLE account statements, over a multitude of months, indicating and assuring me I had a ZERO balance, YEP, ZERO, and I never heard another word from them, as one would expect.... end of story?? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! Any reasonable thinking human being would be led to that conclusion, BUT this doesn't describe reasonable thinking individuals. Well, fast fwd almost a year later after receiving all the ZERO balance statements, only to get served with a surprise lawsuit in 2025 (by this owns firms Partner's little shady side hustle "collection agency LLC" PROFESSIONAL ACCEPTANCE LLC), making outlandish claims that we still owed some sort of debt, via an "assigned" debt from this firm. SAME BAD ACTORS, just conveniently operating under this new name. Worst yet, they had all of our current contact info, yet instead of simply reaching out and even attempting to resolving the matter or clear things us they just plowed right ahead to run us over without any warning (I warned you this would involve unreasonableness). It should also be noted that my partner hadn't been ever contacted in any way by anyone since 2018, NOPE, not even a single time. #2 (Can't even make this kind of stuff up, it actually happened possibly due either outright harassment/vindictiveness or a data breach/breach of confidential client information) This firms partners, acting through and on behalf of their "collection LLC", took my partners PERSONAL INFORMATION and filed and publicized it in completely unrelated Court pleadings, which is a public forum, that had absolutely NOTHING what so ever to do with them, nor involved them in any way, shape or form, in support of asking the Court to approve Alternative Service for one of their other "victims" that they were having trouble getting served with their latest lawsuit, outright falsely claiming that my partners info had anything at all to do with this person. So, you can plainly see what lengths they'll go to. **BEST PART OF ALL THIS: When all of the above stated was brought to their attention, they flat out refused to even respond or offer to correct THEIR ERRORS and instead insisted upon proceeding with the lawsuit, flat out refusing to acknowledge correct THEIR mistakes or be held accountable for any of their egregious actions. I hired Richard Elley for a landlord-tenant dispute involving a security deposit with an ex-tenant…read more Initially, he advised that certain damages including unauthorized pet-related damage, unpaid rent of 3 days, house returned in a dirty state with oil dripping from the oven and structural modifications to the house could be charged against the deposit, and that we did not need to return the full amount. He said we have a no-brainer justification to retain the security deposit, however, once the tenant responded with a strong and threatening letter, the approach changed significantly. Instead of guiding us through a clear strategy, the communication became reactive and somewhat discouraging. During a phone call, he expressed frustration about the direction of the case and questioned decisions that had previously been discussed, such as raising certain damages. What concerned me most was the lack of consistent advocacy. The tenant appeared to self-advocate more effectively than our legal representation. There was little meaningful negotiation achieved on our behalf, and the matter ultimately resulted in us returning the full $2,500 security deposit, despite initially being advised otherwise. We paid $1,500 in legal fees but saw no value in terms of negotiation or outcome. While Attorney Richard Elley seems knowledgeable about landlord-tenant law, the level of advocacy fell short of expectations, and the tenant appeared to advocate their position more effectively than our legal representation.
