2 for 79 more like 500. They first off don't tell you that there isn't a real doctor on sight so you see a doctor through video chat. Then I got glasses and that was $400 later. then after I received them I had to go back in the sunglasses were not dark enough. and I had to drop another $70. even though I just received them 2 days prior. the prescription is off. it gives me the worst headache. went back in and told them they said sorry I was outside my warranty exchange time. how I only had the glasses for two weeks. I have myself some time to adjust, and it didn't happen. so now I'm out around $500 and I have two glasses I can't use. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I know to stay away. read more

Each time I went into the place there was a completely different staff. The result is that they don't always know what to do. So I ordered replacement glasses because my 12-year-old sat on them. They said it was 14 business days and 3 weeks later I went back and the new staff told me that it never was sent. So I had to order again and wait another 3 weeks. Next time, I will pick an optometrist who has their own business. Even if the staff turns over, the doctor is usually on top of it. And they will always honor their promises. It's the difference between having a corporate eye place and a business owner who cares. read more

False advertising When you get there they explain that not a real doctor. All virtual. Cannot do any eye diagnostics.Lens are expensive. Only ' blue label' are 2 for $79. Will not go back. Stanton Optical advertised $79 for 2 pair and the exam was free. It was posted on a big sign plus all throughout the store. I explained that I was the only one who would recieve a contact exam. The other exam was for my 13 y.o. niece. She told them she wanted contacts. Remember I only said one contact exam the other just glasses. We picked out our lenses and then we were told no those are full price it's only the glasses for 2 columns. We found her one pair that would work. The stories were then changed to no its just one column. The glasses looked as though they were straight out of Partridge family. We were charged full price for both exams. I should not be holding tears back in an optical store. Imagine my surprise when I was charged over $500! She charged me for something that I did not order. I threw a fit and was still charged an exorbitant amount! If your on a budget find another optician. Stanton Optical is anything but budget friendly. They do not explain anything till you get ready to pay. Also it's a remote exam. You speak to the optician through zoom. How is that even legal? read more

Terrible customer service. Didn't tell me the Dr would be a TV Dr & couldn't prescribe prisms. They should tell people if they're going to spend their 1 insurance visit on you, that you don't offer all normal services. The employees were too busy laughing and joking with each other to even acknowledge us walking in. We had to stand in the way to get service. It took almost 2 hours, for them to charge me $70 for a visit that I can't even use to get glasses! They are a scam! read more

Staff at the location was great, however do not go here for your "eye exam". What they don't tell you till you're already filling out paperwork is it is a virtual visit. My RX miraculously got better though my glasses still work. I went to another doctor and my rx was wayyyyyy off. I almost spent $300 on the wrong glasses but thankfully went for a second opinion that I had to pay out of pocket for since I used my one insurance covered visit. The "doctor" didn't even ask me if I had any concerns even though I checked yes a history of macular degeneration and my eye has gotten worse. I do NOT recommend them at ALL for your exams. I have very expensive LA Eyeworks glasses that I brought here to get adjusted to my face. Rather than making small adjustments, she used too much heat, causing a hairline fracture in the acetate, and then denied the fact that she was doing damage. I practically had to beg her to be gentle as she manhandled my frames. I even had to explain to her that that they were uneven, and she got increasingly impatient. I'm never coming here again. *New Discoveries* She stripped the heads of the screws! There are metal shavings hanging off them. And they're insanely overtightened! read more

I had a 2:00pm appointment and arrived about 5 minutes early. An employee asked how they could help and I told them I had an appointment. She said it would be about a 2 hour wait. I asked why and she said there were 4-5 people ahead of me and the telehelp was running behind. I asked why did they give me an appointment and she said she wished they didn't because she didn't like having me in her face which I wasn't. I told her to cancel my appointment and I and my wife won't be back. They have lost us and everyone I can get to listen as customers. I made an appointment online. No wait when I arrived. The staff here was very knowledgeable. They explained the eye exam process and helped me pick out frames within my insurance allowance. They explained all the choices I had for glasses and was not pushy. I even went back at a later date to get my glasses adjusted for a better fit and they helped with that and even cleaned my glasses while I was there. Very friendly staff. read more

I'd like to give this experience a ZERO star rating, but that is not an option. Take your business elsewhere. I paid $89+ for a contact lens prescription and even though the website says you will be given a trial pair at the end of the appointment, this location was out of trials. They did NOT tell me they were going to be ordering any, nor did they offer to let me know when I could come back for a trial pair when they received any. They now claim I was called several times by their automated phone number to let me know that the trials had come in, which they did NOT do. Because they didn't have samples, I bought my contacts elsewhere. I paid $160 for the contacts, assuming this place had done their job correctly and that the Rx was correct. Well, it wasn't. I called them about this issue and they said "oh, no problem, let us schedule you for an adjustment appointment at no cost...even if you have to come back multiple times we want to make sure we take care of you and get it right and there will never be a fee", so I show up and apparently now that location is a franchise and the franchisee, Brad Rodman, refused to honor what I was told when I booked the appointment because he says my original appointment was more than 30 days ago (never was told this was a stipulation at the time of the first appointment or when I booked the second) and it was when he didn't own the location. I'm sorry that in the middle of an economic crisis and global pandemic, not everyone has $160 of expendable cash to drop on a set of contacts same day. If I would have been given the trial pair the website assures, I would have known the same day that the Rx was wrong. Brad certainly didn't care to consider that aspect of the circumstances or demonstrate an ounce of empathy (a company core value) when I brought it up. On top of that, he was rude, disrespectful, and patronizing to me when I was on the phone with him... ultimately he hung up on me which I find completely unacceptable behavior of a business professional and owner. I should not be crying inside of an optical store on a Saturday morning, but here we are. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS. DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THE LOCATIONS IN DFW, because apparently Brad owns all of them and Brad is a terrible person. This company claims to value "integrity, accountability, and respect" per their website, which all sounds nice until demonstrating such characteristics effects their bottom line. 100% disappointed and will never go back. I have been to many high end boutiques in the past but the service at My Eyelab today far exceeded their service. I took in a pair of frameless glasses with a completely separated l lens from the frame. My frame was no longer covered by warranty. The two ladies running the shop today (1/13/23) took it upon themselves to repair the glasses to spare me the cost delay and inconvenience of sending them in for repair, they did and incredible job and did it in a very short period of time. These ladies went above and beyond my expectations. I can't help but notice the negative reviews on this site, clearly these customers didn't have the same dynamic duo taking care of them that I got. read more

During my appointment, I bought glasses and they told me they would be ready 6-10 business days. 10 days go by and nothing. I call the store, they were very rude to me, saying there's nothing they can do about it, it's going to be another 6-10 business days. Another 6-10 business days go by, no glasses. I call back, the customer representative was very nice and concerned about the problem so she connected me to the store. The woman at the store then told me they forgot to put in my order, she just put it in, and it will be on a fast order. The customer representative then emailed me saying she talked to management about this problem, and someone would be getting ahold of me. ANOTHER 6 days have gone by, no glasses, no call or email from management. My eyelab in Denton should be closed down. The customers service there is very very poor. I've been there a couple of times and I observed the same very hostile and very rude attitude of the front desk lady to every customer in there. It is very shameful and very disappointing the way she talks to the customers. She talks to customers as if she's doing them a favor and not welcome there. I paid $280.00 for my pair of glasses and i don't think that $280.00 is too cheap to deserve such horrible and hostile attitude. If you have to retain her then she needs to be trained properly. I was offered a free exam and 2 pair of glasses for $60, but when I arrived I was told that that offer was only for glasses. If you are getting an exam for contacts it is $60 and you get nothing free. I was also told that was "my deductible" but they did not even file with my insurance which as a $10 copay for exam and $25 copay for glasses. After the visit I checked their website and they are "out of network" with VSP, but when asked they say "we take it" instead of being honest and saying they will file "out of network" which is much more expensive. I guess the answer to that is make sure you know your benefits before going so they do not lie to you and take more money than they should. I also understand COVID issues right now, but they did not mention that the doctor would be on a remote tablet from some other location. Update: I had my eyes rechecked by my normal optometrist and the prescription was off by .75 in both eyes. read more

I went to get my glasses repaired but once I got there I stood there for 10 minutes as the employee stayed on her cellphone and never acknowledged me or offered to assist me. I finally got tired of standing there for no reason when a "manager" was literally ignoring me and playing on her cellphone. All the other employees were assisting people. I went back 2 days later and was assisted by a young woman, I believe her name was Justine (apologies if I am saying to wrong). She was amazing. She assisted me quickly and I was happily on my way with my glasses fixed. (It was a minor fix and only took about 7 minutes, 3 minutes less than how long I stood there waiting to be assisted. Booked an appointment for my 82 year old mother and myself. Gave them our info and then was told that because of her age my mother would need to see a specialist. I was put on hold for quite a long time. Then another person came on and asked for all of the info again. It took 23 minutes to book it. When we arrived 10 minutes early for the appointment we were told that the persons who booked it messed up the appointment. There was no specialist that was there that day. When I booked the appointment I had explained that I would need to take off work to take the appointment. I lost a day of pay for nothing. All they wanted to do is rebook the appointment. I DO NOT recommend this place or any location. I have had many friends get ripped off with their so called deals. I made 4, yes 4, appointments for myself and children. I called to make sure they accepted my insurance and the guy ONLY cared about telling all the sales they had. I have been in the medical field for 14 years; I know what an insurance verification is... I asked him 4x if they take my insurance. He states that he cant verify it. I am not asking you to verify my insurance; I am asking before I make the 45 min drive, fill out the NP paperwork and wait for God knows how long if the company takes the insurance. This is information all locations should have and be able to tell their customers, esp PRIOR to their appt. Since they were so RUDE and didn't care to help me, I have canceled all appts and will NEVER refer to them; I will also let the providers I work with to not refer to any My Eye Lab. If you think you're going to get an eye exam and 2 pair of glasses for their advertised price, guess again. Their entire operation is based on commission sales and every one who walks through the door is a revenue extraction opportunity. The exam was provided by some remote Vietnamese optometrist somewhere in the world. Even with insurance they whacked me a total of $800 for 2 pairs of glasses, nothing fancy. When they came in the progressive lenses were useless and disorienting. Took them back, was basically accused that it was my fault, and wanted MORE money to fix their problem. After coughing up another $50 to fix their problem, they handed me a receipt proclaiming I "saved" another $430.00. This place is disgusting, their business practices are reprehensible, and the employees could not care less about providing anything useful for customers. They upsell everything, making it impossible to get the advertised pricing, and if using insurance they jack the prices up to pilfer your insurance. Do your research, you'll find thousands of complaints about this company all over the internet. read more

I would look elsewhere. Although the employees were ok. There are issues. Appointment time didn't seem to matter I sat while people that had walked in were taken before me. Exam was virtual, I guess I missed that on description of this place. Basic exam only. Be very careful on selecting your eyeglasses. Take a picture of the frame choice make sure that the information on your receipt matches what you picked. I made error of not doing this and the frames I got matched my receipt, but were not the ones I tried on - they were very cheaply made plastic and frames with normal wear have already broken after less than four months (hinges weren't "hinged - just thin metal that didn't hold up to the opening and closing of the frame). Again this a partially my fault, but we're I tried them on at picked they showed me that my receipt matched the frame I picked up. Eyeglasses took a more time to pick up than stated (maybe a COVID issue). I had also ordered a pair of sunglasses that never arrived (never even showed an order placed) even though I had a receipt and they had my money. I needed new glasses and decided to go to My Eyelab after looking at their website. I purchased two pairs of glasses, one of which was supposed to have transition lenses. I picked up the first pair of glasses when they were ready and took them home, wore them for two days, and got a terrible headache, blurry vision, and a twitching left eye. The receipt I was given said that that the store will refund everything but the cost of the eye exam. I took the glasses back to the Rayzor Ranch location and asked to have my vision rechecked. They rechecked my vision and reordered the two pairs. They also took the old receipt and gave me a new one. When I picked up the glasses again and took them home, the same thing happened: headache, blurry vision, etc. I found both frames to be very uncomfortable. The pair that was supposed to have transition lenses did not have transition lenses. I noticed that the new receipt said nothing of the return policy, so I double checked the My Eyelab website which says: "If you are not completely satisfied with your frame(s), we will gladly restyle them at no charge for any other equal or lower-cost frame in our inventory or refund your full purchase price for the goods." I decided that I wanted to return the glasses and get a refund since this was the second time the prescription was wrong and I really didn't like the frames. I brought the glasses back and asked for a refund and was told that this particular location is a franchise and does not give refunds, even though the website (which is the website I used to book the appointment in the first place) clearly states that they do. I double checked the website's return policy again and called corporate, who told me I was out of luck. Nowhere on the company's website or in the store does it say that the Rayzor Ranch location is a franchise and not beholden to the same return policy. In fact, if you look at the Rayzor Ranch location's page on the My Eyelab website (https://www.myeyelab.com/locations/denton-rayzor-ranch), there is a linked FAQ that reiterates the 30-day satisfaction guarantee and full-refund policy. I don't want to exchange the glasses, I just want my money back so I can afford to go to an actual optometrist. read more

I have been trying for 3 months to get my prescription correct with these people. Each time a different script much different than the time before and everything was a blurr and a massive headache with them each time. I finally paid $85 for a eye exam elsewhere and it turns out my 3 different scripts from eye lab was way off. Since I couldn't get a refund I took the corrected script to the to make my glasses from and the first pair was great but the second pair took a month longer as they said they didn't pass their inspection. Finally got them. Tried them on and they appeared to be out when I got home with them i cannot read with them on they are so bad! Definitely not like the first pair, not prescription. I will be taking them back today. I am so fed up with this place. I will never recommend them to anyone and will never buy another pair or be examined there again.
