Vanilla ice cream (what was left of it!)
    Ulyana K.

Wow, I definitely wasn't expecting to be blown away by a dessert shop in a mall food court! But, I definitely am. While at Ross Park Mall, I stopped by Sinful Sweets (or as their sign says, 'Cookies and Cream') and got some vanilla ice cream, a peanut butter deep dish cookie, and a chocolate macaron deep dish. There was only one lady working at the shop. She was extremely friendly. When it was time to pay, she tried to put the cookies into a cookie box but they ran out. Instead, she offered to put them in a different box and take the ice cream off of the price! That is extremely generous of her! The vanilla ice cream is delicious. Not too sweet, but has the exact flavor you want from a creamy vanilla ice cream. I only asked for a scoop, but it was 4 or 5! The cookie and macaron were both also delicious. For $3.50 each, it's definitely worth the price. These are thick, dense, and large cookies. The peanut butter has lots of Reeses on top of what seems to be a chocolate chip cookie. The edges are crispy and inside is pretty soft. The macaron was one of the best I've had. It was chocolate dipped, and also huge! Full of coconut. They also have chocolate, cupcakes, cookie dough, and milkshakes among other items. For a little shop in Ross Park Mall, this is beyond high quality! The young lady working there is awesome, too. And, the food is all delicious, from the cookies to the ice cream! Definitely recommend.

Sinful Sweets is an adorable little chocolate and sweets places located in Downtown and is the perfect spot to satisfy and sweet craving. When I stopped by, personally, I felt bad. They closed at 8pm and I literally entered at 7:55pm, so I'm sorry about that but I was hungry! The main reason for wanting to stop was I noticed they sold raw cookie dough which is such a craze right now and something I never tried. In addition to cookie dough they sell regular ice cream as well, and many other different types of chocolate candy so you really can get it all here. Plus, the staff is super nice so although I came in there so close to closing, I could tell she really didn't care all that much. Now, sadly for me, I hated the cookie dough. It was red velvet which I normally find to be amazing, but this wasn't. Nothing against the shop, I'm just realizing that this raw cookie dough trend isn't for me. I thought it was too sweet, the consistency was odd and overall just wasn't something I'd ever want again. Next time I'll get ice cream, but even so I'd still make sure I came back to Sinful Sweets. It's amazing.

I stopped by here this past Sunday while my wife and I were downtown. Sinful Sweets Is located right on Liberty Ave close to Market Square and the weird Liberty/5th Avenue intersection. Since there was no parking around on the day that I was there my wife circled around the block while I headed in. The inside of the shop here was quaint and consisted of an area with what I would consider to be random candy, see through glass to some ice cream containers and then a couple of display cases, one with chocolate and one with baked goods. Whenever I arrived at the shop I was immediately greeted by the person working that day and upon looking around ultimately decided on their burnt almond tort cupcake. I got it to go and $3.50 later I was carrying it outside in a nice container for it which protected it from getting too messed up. My wife and I ended up splitting it later that night and upon taking it out of the container the first thing that I noticed is that it was top heavy and had a hard time standing up on its own. After cutting it in half and taking my half, I first tasted the cake portion which was light and moist with a decent flavor to it. Once I was done with that I tasted the top and I was impressed with it. While there was a ton of frosting it wasn't overly sweet which means that I could have eaten it all on my own. It also had a nice consistency to it and I enjoyed the crunchiness of the almonds on the outside. The only thing about the cupcake that confused me was in calling it a burnt almond torte as the flavor didn't really remind me of it and it was tasty on its own. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. In the summer it would be a nice place to stop for ice cream and I have to admit that I was pleased with the cupcake I bought here.

I can not ever pass up a candy store especially one that has dark chocolate covered anything. Smaller size store with not a huge selection of items , But all the items looked amazing. I got a bunch of dark chocolate covered truffles and some dark chocolate covered nuts. I also got some dark chocolate covered orange, Which where amazing. I had really wanted some strawberries but I arrived too late and they where already sold out. They had some amazing looking cupcakes and also amazing looking dark chocolate covered pretzels. I will definitely be back for more. The staff where extremely helpful and very friendly. You can not go wrong going to the Sinful Sweets Chocolate Company. Best bet is to get there early before they run out of things.

Sinful Sweets is making it easier than ever to give into temptation by opening a second location on Liberty Avenue. So whichever corner of downtown you're visiting, they more or less have you covered now! All of the things you like about the Penn Ave location apply to the new one, except that this place is much more of a "grab and go" spot (while the original shop has some limited seating available). Milkshakes? Got 'em. Cookies? Check. Chocolate covered cookies? Yep! Truffles? Roger. Cupcakes? Go ahead and order a boxful. And there is of course a whole host of other assorted sweet treats, too. I just left with a chocolate covered oatmeal creme pie and a chocolate chip whoopie pie. I suspect they will need some time to get into their grove, especially based on what I saw tonight: one lone staffer holding down the fort (and doing pretty well, actually) as Pirates fans flock into downtown. But like I said earlier: if you like the Penn Ave spot, what's not to like here?

They have a really nice assortment of sweets. I got a birthday cake cupcake and a cinnamon roll cookie. The cupcake was very cute and had a nice flavor. The inside felt like it was slightly undercooked but still very yummy. Not too sweet. I didn't even eat the cookie because it was very doughy and just seemed like it wasn't cooked at all. The little cinnamon bun on the top was good. Again not too sweet.

We stopped by their location at Ross Park Mall to pickup some sweets. They have so many options to choose from, it's so hard to pick! They have chocolate covered strawberries, edible cookie dough, cupcakes, truffles, cookies, and so much more! The cupcakes are big and so cute!

Excellent service and terrific product. Came here to get some ice cream and got the cake batter flavor. It was so good and a generous portion. Additionally, I checked in on Yelp and got a free pretzel. Covered in dark chocolate, it was the highlight of my day. I heartily recommend Sinful Sweets.

Ask the Community - Sinful Sweets Chocolate Company

    Is the location downtown closed?

Yes, we currently have locations in Beaver Falls, Ross Park Mall and the South Hills Village Mall.

Are there any vegan or dairy-free options?

I believe the dark chocolate nut clusters and dark chocolate coconut clusters would be vegan.

Will Sinful Sweets open up a location at the Pittsburgh International Airport in the near future?

    Definitely something we are considering!

This is an odd sort of review, because the only chocolates I've eaten from here were the ones she tutored us to create. And...well...they were magnificent. So rewinding a bit... I was looking for gift idea for SB. A friend at work pointed me to a link to a listicle or PG article about a chocolate making class. I'd never heard of it before. Completely in the weeds. When I went to A519's webpage, it was not intuitively obvious to me where I could go to sign up. BUT...it's listed under "products"...https://shop.a519chocolate.com/products/private-truffle-making-class There...I made a link for you. If you love chocolate, or you love someone who loves chocolate, this class was really fantastic. It broke down a bit like this...(2 hours) 1) Introductions/qualifications/backstory (5 minutes) 2) Presentation about cacao to chocolate...bean to bar. Terminology, taste, geography (10-15 minutes) 3) Tasting...taste various types of "raw materials" used to make chocolate truffles, white chocolate, dulce, milk chocolate, various percentages of dark chocolate up to 85% (20 - 30 minutes) 4) Making chocolates (the remainder) Informative, entertaining, delicious, and satisfying. It's a working kitchen, but doesn't take up a ton of space, so a six person class can be a bit cramped, but not uncomfortably so. There was plenty of space for each couple to follow instructions and hands-on. We first decorated molds using cocoa butter sprinkles (a la Jackson Pollock), then painted with an air brush, then made ganache and tempered chocolate and poured and scraped, cooled and broke molds, each couple taking home 24 BEAUTIFUL truffles. SB likes 'experience gifts', and this one was a great experience for us both. And the truffles WE made were amazing, so I can't imagine how good the ones Amanda (owner/chef) produces would be. Strongly encourage (think: valentine's day gift).

They recently opened a pop up shop in central Lawrenceville which will be open through Feb 2018. When I arrived I met Amanda Wright's husband who is in charge of the shop. Chocolate truffles come in different size boxes and are very expensive. You can still order from Amanda either on-line or call her shop where she produces them if you are unable to come out. Boxes range anywhere from two to a box for $4.00 to about fifteen in a box for $30.00. Although they are grouped by category such as caramels, you are permitted to mix and match to your liking. I decided to opt for a champagne filled truffle and a dark chocolate one. They were box very nicely and I ate them when I got home. Believe me as always they are to die for! These chocolates are to be savored. Wine pairing also helps you enjoy the flavors better. I don't mind have to shelve out a little extra cash when I know something is extra special and believe me I have never been disappointed in any or their high end chocolates. If you are able to get to central Lawrenceville during the holiday season this place is a must if you want to get some of the best candy in the city. Amanda can also custom design a box using sports teams or beautiful art. This makes a great gift for someone who is indeed a chocolate lover.
