This Taekwondo School is EXCELLENT. The instructor, Master Ben Monje is such a great teacher, mentor, role model and friend to ALL his students and the students' family. Master Ben displays great knowledge of his Art, skill in instruction, patience and enthusiasm. These aspects plus family-oriented events, tournaments and competition makes for great time and positive influence for his students. We're 100% HAPPY!!

Exceptional Taekwondo Experience for Young Aspiring Martial Artists…read more I recently enrolled my 6-year-old son in My Focus Taekwondo with Master Paul, and I must say that it has been an incredible experience for both my son and our family. From the very first class, it was evident that Master Paul possesses an unparalleled passion for teaching Taekwondo and nurturing young minds. First and foremost, the atmosphere at My Focus Taekwondo is warm, welcoming, and inclusive. Master Paul creates a positive environment where children of all abilities can flourish. He ensures that each child feels valued and motivated, which significantly boosts their confidence. My son's self-esteem has soared since joining this program, and it's truly remarkable to witness his growth. Master Paul's teaching style is exceptional. He combines discipline with fun, making each class engaging and enjoyable for the kids. He effortlessly balances structure and play, ensuring that the children remain focused while still having a great time. My son eagerly looks forward to every lesson, and the progress he has made in such a short period is astounding. What sets My Focus Taekwondo apart is Master Paul's commitment to instilling important values in his students. Beyond the physical aspects of Taekwondo, he emphasizes respect, discipline, and perseverance. My son has learned the importance of setting goals, working hard, and never giving up. These lessons extend far beyond the dojang (training hall) and are applicable to everyday life. Furthermore, the safety measures implemented at My Focus Taekwondo are exemplary. Master Paul prioritizes the well-being of his students and ensures that each child is practicing in a secure environment. I appreciate the attention to detail and the measures taken to protect everyone during these challenging times. Master Paul's dedication to his students is unparalleled. He takes the time to understand each child's unique abilities and tailors his teaching to suit their individual needs. He is patient, encouraging, and possesses an innate ability to connect with children, fostering a sense of trust and respect. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend My Focus Taekwondo with Master Paul to any parent seeking a positive and enriching martial arts experience for their child. Under Master Paul's guidance, my son has not only developed physical strength and coordination but has also acquired valuable life skills. We are grateful for this exceptional journey and look forward to the continued growth and development it will bring. Thank you, Master Paul, for your unwavering dedication and passion. You have made a profound impact on my son's life, and we are truly grateful for the incredible experience we have had at My Focus Taekwondo.

If you're a parent looking for a taekwondo school that truly helps kids grow -- not just in skill, but in confidence and character -- this is it. My son started when he was 5, and now at 7, he's a purple belt! Over the past year, he's gained so much strength, balance, and focus... every belt promotion feels like a proud-parent moment. He walks out of every class a little taller and a lot more confident. I actually stumbled on Tempest by accident -- I was walking past the dojang on my way to Redlands Barre (same building!) and saw one of my girlfriends and her son in the Wolf Cubs class. A week later, my son was signed up, and the rest is history! The Tempest team -- Master Terrence, Instructors Minh and Vi, and the rest of the instructors -- go above and beyond for these kids. Classes are fun, challenging, and full of energy. They know how to push the students while still making it feel encouraging and positive. What really makes Tempest special is how much it feels like a family. Instructor Minh is amazing at keeping both parents and kids involved -- she reads out the goals and notes we parents submit so the kids hear that encouragement directly. The team also gives out Taekwondo cards for things like Best Attitude, Courage, Skill, Citizenship, and even special editions for training camps or holidays. It's such a clever way to reward effort and gamify progress! And an unexpected bonus -- taekwondo has made my son a way better soccer player! Something about learning to kick with precision and discipline has carried over to the field. His coordination, balance, and agility have skyrocketed. I swear his soccer game has improved fiftyfold since joining Tempest! Earlier this month, the Tempest team competed in the Orange County Open Martial Arts Championship in Newport Beach, and it was incredible to see how far they've all come. Watching them perform their poomsae together, show power in speed kicks and punches, and beam with pride was pure joy. My son brought home gold, silver, and bronze, and he was so proud of himself -- we were extra extra extra proud of him! We've also made some wonderful friendships through Tempest. Ethan's had playdates and hangouts with fellow students, and we've connected with such great families over the past year and a half. When your kid loves where they learn -- and you love the community that comes with it -- that's something really special. And speaking of community, Tempest organized an awesome camping trip at Silverwood Lake earlier this year -- movie night, Easter egg hunt, campfires, the works. It was such a fun weekend bonding with other families and the instructors who make this place feel like home. Watching our son's journey -- from wobbly white-belt kicks to confident purple-belt poomsaes -- has been one of the most rewarding parts of parenthood. Tempest isn't just about martial arts... it's about confidence, community, and character...on the mat and off.

He started at 4 y/o and just recently moved to intermediate level. Words are not enough to describe the experiences he's had in the last year, but suffice to say that we are extremely happy with the skills he's learned. Master Terrence and all the instructors (especially Alejandro and Lauren) are amazing. Instructors Minh and Vi are friendly and welcoming. The junior instructors are extremely helpful. Tempest has a very inviting and friendly environment with supportive instructors, family members and students. They offer free trial classes so make sure to check them out. If you think you or your child can benefit from the physical and mental discipline it provides, take a chance and join! You won't regret it.

You know how some of the younger generation can be pretty snarky, these fellow students were not that way at all! They're pretty cool! (Update: I've been to several classes already & they seem to keep things moving & I'm learning a lot! And sweating alot! Haha...) I could tell that Master Lee has taught them well about respecting self & others! It shows & was so refreshing to see such respect & kindness from the instructor & other students. I was definitely the newest in the class but kept up pretty well. There were a few times that I got tired & had to pause a little. That's ok...I didn't get any stink eye... Hahaha o.O Mostly everyone was so flexible & agile! I can't wait to get there too! Who couldn't use more flexibility?!?! =) The week before class, I dropped by & saw Master Lee & another instructor leading the little kids in class. That was great to see! As I waited, I also sat next to a nice lady & she told me how beneficial Taekwondo has been for her son & husband & their family. I can see what she means by just taking one class! Once that class was over, I was promptly met by Master Lee & we briefly discussed the program & costs & such. I paid & received a uniform. Then I showed up early for class... Let's do this again! Some info you'll need to know if you're a first timer: Shoes aren't used during class, you'll take them off before you get on the mat & store them in a cubbyhole. I wore flip flops for ease of putting on/off. You can bring water...I did & good thing! I found it necessary! You'll sweat up a storm & need to rehydrate. Bring a towel, you're gonna sweat a ALOT! Be early, Keep your nails cut short, Wear a clean uniform & Master Lee will guide you through the rest! It is a warm & friendly environment. Gamsahabnida USTT!

Master Park is a very caring instructor, and I like that he instills a small amount of both Korean culture (of which Taekwondo is founded on) while encouraging students to work hard and disciplining students when instructions are not followed. The class sizes are fairly small so every student can get personalized attention. When the classes are larger (5+) groups, his wife who is also a black belt also comes to help out. There are belt tests every two months, so students are always encouraged to work hard so that they can rank up. Being an adult, one could imagine that I could have paid my way towards a black belt at any other locations, but that was not the case here. I appreciated that Master Park still held me to the standards of any other students, and that was no joke when it came to flexibility and forms. While forms are often easier to master through repetition, splits were a much more challenging skill, and by the end of two years of training, I finally achieved 2/3 of my splits, with the last one being only about 5 inches off the ground. In addition to TKD and its benefits, Master Park also tries to incorporate other martial arts styles such as boxing and supplements a primarily lower-body style of martial arts with upper-body techniques as well. While COVID made it harder to be involved, I wanted to help support the family business through private lessons. While at the time Master Park had no time for private lessons, I am glad to hear that they now have more students, and it is also nice to see that he has hired some of the black belts as instructors at his studio.
