In comparison, my daughter ordered a spray online for $187, and the difference in quality was striking. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words--and it was painfully obvious that the arrangement I received was nowhere near worth what I paid. What made this even more upsetting is that I was in a state of deep grief when I placed the order. I was crying during the consultation and was assured the spray would be beautiful and fitting for my mother. Instead, I felt embarrassed having it displayed at the service. It looked like something that might cost $100 at best. When I returned to the flower shop two days after the funeral to express my concerns and request a refund, the owner shockingly suggested that the funeral home must have removed flowers from the arrangement. I found this accusation to be completely unacceptable and offensive. I have since reported the incident to the Better Business Bureau, though I have not received any resolution. I have always made a point to support local businesses, but after this experience, I will not be supporting this one again.

On a positive note, I was relieved the order was delivered by 2 pm since her shift ends at 3 pm. When selecting an arrangement on the FTD web site, the first thing that caught my attention about this specific arrangement (Star of the Day Floral Cake) was the adorable "Happy Birthday" star topper. This topper was missing. Surprised the florist failed to substitute a floral pick, or something comparable at least. Also, this arrangement was supposed to have 4 straight white candles. It only came with 2, and they were colored and wavy, which made it nearly impossible to see against the colored floral background. Finally, I paid extra for a mylar balloon. The arrangement was delivered with a balloon that I personally feel did not compliment the colors of the flowers, and was not fully inflated. When my niece brought the flowers home that afternoon, the balloon was already half deflated! I'm sure it will be completely deflated and on the floor by the end of the day :(

Surprisingly, this Napoleon stayed crispy the entire drive home and survive even in the refrigerator the next day. Many others I've had usually get soggy, but these layers of puff pastry stayed crisp to the end of every last bite. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the ripe strawberries. Banana Cream Pie 3/5* I love anything banana and just had to get it when my eyes landed on the perfect swirl of whip cream covered in chunks of buttery crumbles, atop a neat little mini pie. However, the pie itself was too mushy. The crust was soggy, with the smoothness of the banana cream, soft banana slices, and rich whip cream, everything combined was too much mush. It was also too sweet. I did enjoy the crumble on top though. That was the only saving texture. Strawberry Cream Horn 5/5* Wow these were so unexpectedly delicious! The horn is super flaky and delicate, filled from end to end with a light strawberry cream. On top, bits of dehydrated strawberries were not only beautiful but added a nice tartness and texture, contrasting with the silky cream. This was a great upgrade on your classic cream horn. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts 3/5* Nothing special. They tasted better the longer they sat out because they were crisper. I prefer my cookies to have sea salt for that good balance of salty and sweet, but these cookies were just one noted. Next time, I have my eyes set on this towering cake they had on the counter and of course, take home some of those yummy cream horns.
