I first met the owner, John, about 3 years ago. He told me all about his company and their service…read moreafter the sale. Since then, I've used them on several projects for generators. The following is from one of our customers.: I've been meaning to thank you for hooking us up with Menken generators. A few weeks ago after that storm the power was off for 48 hours. I actually called John at 4 pm Saturday because I knew I had to check the oil after 24 hours and I didn't have the key. He answered his phone and even remembered me. He walked me through everything and I spoke to him again 2 days later. This week his son came out and did the yearly service on the generator. Great piece of equipment and great service from the company. Worth every penny. Thank you. I called John and thanked him for being everything he said he was. I highly recommend Menken Generators. They are your partners when you purchase a generator from them. We don't use any other company for generators, even if the price isn't the lowest, the service is always the best.

My girlfriend's heater stopped working, so she called this company. They told her the required…read moreparts were "rare" and recommended replacing the entire system for $8,000+, citing the age of the unit. When she declined, they suddenly "found" the part and quoted $1,800, then took a deposit. A quick search showed the OEM part is widely available for around $150, and the job typically takes 1-2 hours. Charging $1,800 for that kind of work is hard to justify. To their credit, when I called and requested a refund of the deposit, they returned it without issue (hence the 2 stars). That said, the initial sales approach was misleading and predatory. For context, another company has since quoted $460 for the same repair.

Very responsive service and "diagnosed" a defective blower motor that was "one of the most…read moreexpensive motors I've seen" and "don't know if I can get one" immediately went into "upsell a new furnace mode" and was assured it was a "competitive price" Big mistake should have immediately called two other companies for quote. Installation was flawless, but the price was exorbitant at $8300. $6-6500 would have been a fair price for a $3400 heater marked up 1.5X and a 6-8 hours of labor at more than $200/hr labor. Met with owner and he justified the price mostly due to "knowing his costs", generous salaries for his employees, enormous overhead, advertising and a "small profit margin" Lesson learned. When the technician goes into upsell mode and tells you they are offering a competitive price, don't believe them. Get three quotes. Also, they remove any negative reviews and want you to not post anything detrimental on social media.
