We'll start with the human interactions first: the staff are so nice and welcoming, no matter the time of day. On our first visit, we did a temperament check. Quick 15 min hello around other dogs. They were thorough in their analysis of my dog, and his attitude, and recommended a Saturday daycare to ease him into a new place. The staff also stressed getting vaccine data and keeping it up to date before even letting my pup go into any room with other dogs, which I thoroughly appreciated. Since that first visit, we've had no issues with pick up or drop off. You have to pre-book your dog for day care or boarding via their app, and they book up fast. They offer grooming too but last I checked, they didn't have a full time groomer. They likely do now, so just ask. Now the dog part: My dog has been coming here for the past month and LOVES IT. He's always been calm in the car, but when I pull up to the lot, and put the car in park, he's out of his seat and pawing at the door to get inside the building! He leaves the day care excited from a day of play, and proceeds to crash on the couch once he's home. Best part is that he doesn't come back smelly or gross, even after a long day! My Lucky Dog has become his favorite day care! We love it here and are excited to keep coming back! read more

We were recommended by a few members in the Cumberland facebook group to bring our dog Mia here. Boy, are we thrilled we did. We send her 2-3 times a week. She is a high energy husky and really needs to burn through that energy during the week. The staff is beyond excited and friendly when we drop her off. They also allow us to bring her frozen kong for her to enjoy during nap time since she isn't much of a sleeper when she's excited. Overall, I feel confident and safe leaving our fur baby with them. After having a bad experience with a former daycare, I have to say My Lucky Dog is a winner! I had been told that Laila was aggressive and lunging at dogs at a previous daycare. I was concerned that maybe daycare wasn't for her, especially since I noticed that they were separating her for hours at a time, and I didn't care to pay for her to pace back and forth all day alone, while all other dogs were having a good time. Then I found My Lucky Dog and had a great conversation with them and discussed my concerns. I am so glad I made the switch! I don't know who loves this place more - me or my pup Laila! You can tell the staff really cares about all of the dogs here, and they are respectful when we walk in... I'm still trying to train Laila to stay calm when we walk in the door and not to jump, and they are all super patient with us! I met the owner, Holly and she is kind and caring. I don't have any more reservations about my dog being separated/punished here, and Laila has none of the aggression here that I was told she has. What a relief! Made an appointment for my dog here today. First, when you walk in it smells like mold and mildew. The placed seemed sketchy. You could only hear dogs barking. You couldn't see what the employees were doing with the dogs. The girl that attended me was dressed in pajamas and unprofessional on all counts. I gave the girl all my dog vaccination paperwork and told her that my vet recommended a stool testing before going into a doggie daycare. The girl seemed agitated that I had my dog tested prior to my dog appointment. I was saying to myself was why??? Anyway I figured I'll just keep going with this so called , "interview " for my dog. They took my dog literally for 10 minutes and decided that he was too nervous. I don't know about anyone else, but it takes me more than 10 minutes to get acclimated to an environment. Heck it takes me 30 minutes to somewhat get comfortable anywhere new! She brings my dog back and says no he won't make it here. He's too nervous... well yea!!!! You gave him only 10 minutes!!! I told her I didn't like the setup anyway. Which I honestly didn't and it worked out. The place was a literal pit! I wouldn't put my dog there if it was the last place on earth. Disgusting! I'm happy it worked out the way it did. Don't waste your time here and please don't put your dog here...I'm going to Camp Bow Wow. I'll let you know how that goes. They accused me of faking my dogs vet records and then called my vet and accused them of lying about vaccinations... I have no idea why they would think someone would do that or if that is a pattern with their clientele but I would not recommend taking your dog here because they clearly have some issues going on surrounding vaccinations and are pretty hostile. read more

This place is incredible, I can't say enough good things. Conveniently located if you're in northern RI. Their online portal makes scheduling, automatic payment, etc. so easy. The system even reminds you when your dog is due for shots. They have grooming on site- I just mention in the morning that she needs her nails clipped and it's done. The best part is the people. They will LOVE your dog like you love your dog. They know them by name and even have nicknames for them. They know all their little habits and what they like and don't like. I typically bring my dog only once a week, and they even noticed when she had a new collar and told her how pretty she looked- they know your dog that well. Best of all, your dog will come home TIRED. This place give me the comfort of knowing my dog is safe, secure, happy, and loved when I'm not there. read more

Today was the first time I brought my pups to daycare at My Lucky Dog, and I have to say that although they can't talk I can most certainly tell they had a hell of a time today. We first heard about this spot opening from a former neighbor who is a regular and takes her dog once a week. It's a great opportunity for busy doggy parents who need to take advantage of a daycare or overnight service but also for those who just want their pups to get a little playtime and socialization with others. Melissa the owner was very responsive when I contacted her asking how to begin the process. As expected, she asked that I bring them in for a personality test along with all of the required and extra vaccines (which can be found on the website). It is located at the beginning of Industrial Rd. and very much a large warehouse that's been turned into a doggy daycare. I liked that there were separate areas for small dogs and large as well as a separate area for pups who need a little break from the chaos. They have a sample schedule of what a doggy daycare day is like up on their website and I couldn't help but chuckle that these guys get a nap time. The crates are a good size and line the wall in the back, nice and open not confined in a room. They also get to play outside in a fenced in area. All of the play is supervised by staff. Both Abe and Stella passed their tests - Melissa took both of them separately and watched how they behaved around other dogs and on their own with simple commands. I was delighted to book a half day (up to 6 hours) for them and it's as easy as having a profile set up with a card on file where you can go in and schedule the date(s) you need. The card is charged after the stay. They have a myriad of packages available and even offer grooming services which I look forward to trying our next visit. Abe and Stella, my two rambunctious lab mixes, have been like lazy house cats since they came home. This is a sign that they had a fantastic time playing and making other furry friends! This is a blessing in disguise for us since we are expecting a little human baby soon and with cold weather coming in, it will be good to have somewhere to take the pups to get the energy out. read more

I would give no stars but that's not an option. We left on Friday after a half day and one of your employees advised that we were no longer welcomed back. She advised my dog was aggressive and the staff was also nervous around him, but only a few words later told me how sweet he was and she was sad to see him go. I've never ever had an experience, in the six years I've had My dog, where he has been aggressive towards other dogs. She mentioned he was particularly aggressive towards Non neutered dogs. When I called the vet to talk about the experience the doctor advised that non neutered dogs should not be playing with older neutered dogs. In his experience he's never heard of any day care placing them together. In all fairness if my dog was as "aggressive" as your employees say I'm confused as to why I didn't get a call. Also it was his first time at daycare and no time was given for him to get acclimated. I feel as though I couldn't keep quiet after I incurred a $166 vet bill today because he now has kennel cough after being at your establishment for one day. read more

We LOVE My Lucky Dog. We just got our puppy at the beginning of April and became so attached to him. Just as we expected, Leo was full of energy. But, with Covid-19, we had limited options on things we could do everyday with Leo. We were also starting to notice he was terrified of not just other dogs, but people as well. He used to pull us on walks in the complete other direction when he saw a dog in the distance. We had never sent our previous dogs to daycare and were recommended by a friend to try MLD. To say we love it here is an understatement! I remember thinking they would turn Leo away at the door when they saw his skittish behavior but Holly welcomed us right in and it has completely changed Leo! He now loves all types of dogs and people and he knows when he is getting close to MLD in the morning and starts barking and whining in the car to get out! He even pouts for couple hours in the morning on the days he has to spend it with us! (LOL) Just going two days a week has completely helped calm Leo down and satisfies his puppy energy. He even gets his nails cut during the day which makes MLD even more convient. I couldn't recommend sending your pup here anymore! I love this place and so do my dogs! They come home tired everyday they go, and are always thrilled when we pull up for drop off. The staff know my dogs by name and always give me a little report when I pick them up. Can't say enough good things. My dog gets soooo excited when I pull up to her daycare, she forgets I exist and just wants to go inside LOL. She loves all the workers and comes home so tired from playing all day. I love bringing our Bella here !! At first it was very hard to find a place that allowed " bully breeds" many had wait lists. We kept digging and found My Lucky Dog Daycare. We noticed that they didn't allow pit bulls about a year or so ago but of course it was due to the ban of pit bulls. So about 8 months ago we called and scheduled a evaluation. She passed with flying colors !! From that day forward we bring her 2-3 days a week. She pulls me from the car totally forgets that I'm her mother once I give her to the friendly staff. I took my standard poodle puppy to be groomed yesterday at My Lucky Dog, I was very pleased with the service. I was quite particular as to how I wanted him groomed and the groomer took the time to listen and did exactly what I had asked. Being they have only a small grooming business, my puppy was the only dog there to be groomed and he received one on one attention the entire time he was there. The pricing was very reasonable compared to other groomers in town. The customer service was excellent, I have certainly found a place where I can be confident my dog is well cared for and that my preferences will be listened to. read more
