I had a good experience here getting dip and extensions, which was only $50 (seems a bit lower than what I'm used to). I believe it was the male owner who did my nails and he was talkative and friendly. I think he paid better attention to detail than some other nail techs I've used before, and he checked with me several times throughout the process to make sure I liked the color and length, which sometimes doesn't happen at salons! However, I do see some of the complaints about the place being disorganized and a bit messy. Not a five star spa experience by any means, but if you want decent nails done at a decent price, I don't think this place is half bad. I wouldn't rely on walking in here--make an appointment to ensure you aren't waiting a long time, because when I went there were only two people working.

I contacted Mary Stewart at GP Styles for my sister to get her hair cut (5-6 inches cut & styled)…read moreand I wanted balayage done in my hair. I would not recommend anyone going here because Mary canceled on us 4 times in which resulted in meeting with her 2 separate occasions, with nothing but stress and disappointing results. We scheduled to meet up with her 2 weeks in advanced so we could have our hair do's complete before our Spring Break Vacation in which she proposed she would be able to complete. She claimed she had experience in coloring Asian hair and she knew balayage techniques but the end result came out more like a dip-dye or an ombre which was not what I wanted at all. Even the color came out incorrectly as we decided on an Ash Blonde and my color came out as a light brown with an orange tint. She charged me $100 promising to meet me for a second sitting before my vacation, but was unwilling to meet me on the days we agreed upon. Our first meeting was scheduled for Thursday she wanted to color my hair and cut my sisters on the same day but she canceled because she had stomach flu, which is completely understandable. We agreed to meet next week on Friday. Friday, she cut and styled my sister's hair and did a great job, we didn't color my hair because she did not have the right colors (we agreed on an ash blonde color in my hair) and I always want the artist to have the right tools for the correct results. We scheduled for the following Sunday. Sunday morning she canceled 3 hours before our meeting due to unknown circumstances. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt because she did such a great job with my sister's hair, so I agree to reschedule with her on Friday. On Friday we finally started the coloring process. All was well until the end result which came out more like a dip-dye or an ombre which was not what I wanted at all. Even the color came out incorrectly as we decided on an Ash Blonde and my color came out as a light brown with an orange tint. She recommended we meet in 2 separate sittings because my hair is very dark, but once I requested to meet for the 2nd sitting to achieve the ash blonde color we agreed upon, she advised me to "wait until the next day because it would be brighter outside, thus I would see the color better" and she kept on saying things like "your hair looks so great, its the perfect color, it looks so good on you" and only asked me how i felt once throughout our whole session. I asked her if she had any openings the next day, Saturday, so we could complete the ash blonde color. She said she had a completely free schedule to do my hair BUT SHE wanted me to wait on making a decision because SHE felt I would like the color better once the sun came out, but she was willing to meet me on Saturday if I wanted a 2nd sitting. On top of that she charged me $100 for the session, I paid thinking she would follow through with her promise of meeting with me before my vacation to complete the process. I definitely texted her the very next day on Saturday morning, but she said she did not want to meet with me because she didn't want to commute from Lecompton (her home town) to Lawrence to do my hair, even though she promised she could meet with me. I told her 2 weeks in advanced and even reminded her that I had to leave on Vacation that following Wednesday and could not meet on Monday or Tuesday because I had work all morning/afternoon and had to pack all evening. I requested to meet on Sunday because she had openings then, but for some reason she refused to meet with me and would only meet on Monday/Tuesday of which she knew and understood I could not do. I asked her if she could recommend someone else at GP Styles to complete my color, but she didn't want to and couldn't recommend anyone. I couldn't get a hold of her manager as she is on maternity leave for the next few weeks. I am very frustrated because I really wanted my hair done for my vacation in which Mary promised she would do. But her lack of skill in balayage technique and her constant flakiness and rescheduling was not worth all the trouble and hassle as well as the price I paid for her service. On top of the $100, I was also charged $20 for a trim in which she literally cut less than 1/2 an inch off. I have never been charged $100 for half hair color session, I thought I would change it up and go elsewhere but I was wrong and will be returning to my previous hair salon, Hair Color Studios (who have never charged me $100 for half finished hair). I hope anyone else will never have to experience the horrible customer service and hair color service I experienced here. I would give GP styles an extra star for the great haircut my sister received, but upon her request i did not due to all the stress I endured through all the rescheduling an throughout my vacation. Please do not go here.

The lady who did my nails is named Cheryl if you would like to get your nails done by her. She spends quality time on prepping the nails before she puts the acrylics on. She is so gentle and careful with my nails, I don't think I could ever get my nails done by anyone else. The nail art is the most amazing I have ever seen, and she does it freehand. She is amazing at looking at the inspiration picture and perfectly replicating it. She is amazing to talk to, she is such a genuine person. She also has amazingly fair prices. I would 100000000000% getting your nails done here.
