I was…read morenervous planning this surprise party all the way from another state, but Sophie was fabulous to work with and I could not have done it without her. As a communication instructor, communication was the biggest priority for me and Sophie was a complete pro. Communication from start to finish was prompt and excellent! Sophie even brought up details that I hadn't even thought about. Her patience, kindness, and upbeat attitude made planning the party a breeze! For the party, MVTPC provided the catering, service, and decor--and there was loads of decor! From the gorgeous vintage teacups to amazing vintage bronze unicorn statute, my sister's house was transformed into a magical 1920's Gatsby mansion. I have to mention the food, which drew rave reviews from all party guests. We had french macaroons (in Lavender, Rose, and Pistachio flavors), croissants, quiche, chocolate mousse cups, and petit fours (champagne strawberry). The petit fours are not to be missed! We also had a punch station that featured an ice ring filled with fruit and flowers (side note: MVTPC does not supply alcohol, but will serve it for you. It was extremely easy and actually more cost efficient for us to buy our own booze anyway). Finally, I have nothing but the highest praise for the MVTPC staff. The hosts/hostesses were polite, prompt, friendly, and engaging. Setup and clean up were quick and efficient and didn't interrupt the party festivities at all! The theme was a 20s-style speakeasy which served finger sammies, several flavors of macaroons, and the biggest rave, petit fours decorated in edible glitter! There was much more food, as well, all of which were delectable! Her staff at my party, Dylan, Crystal, and Anna, made the entire event special! They cleaned, made sure food was replenished, and, most importantly, paid close attention to my guests needs! The line to get in on the weekend can get pretty long with people filling out waivers, but the staff is friendly and keeps it moving. Once inside, there is a huge playscape that you don't feel nervous about kids getting a little lost in due to the careful stamping at the door that ensures no children leave without an adult in their party. The areas inside the playscape are large enough for adults climb around in if you need to chase them down too. There are arcade type games at the back which you need a cash loaded card to play. The little bowling lanes are a favorite in the gaming area. The kids win tickets in the arcade and can take home prizes. There is a toddlers area too for under a certain height that our little guys are finally getting kicked out of. They miss racing their little cars on the ramps that they have in there. The rainbow dipping dots are our traditional treat for right before we head home. This place definitely wears them out!

The staff informed me that because one of them was 15 and the other was 12 , that they were not allowed in. The manager told me to My face that this was there policy, but they were still not allowed in. Broke my heart to see them being turned away. We had many good memories there with the kids. So sorry that the last one had to be sour. Mt. Playmore you all are better than that.​ No ma'am you were misinformed, my daughter will be 13 on September 3rd. This would have been our last visit. Even stated so on the waivers we filled out. Your staff was told this and they still refused our children.

We were assured in writing that the ceilings would be taken care of by the day of my wedding. I asked for updates all year and was told every time "they're not done yet, but don't worry, it will get done by your wedding day," Spoiler: that did not happen Ceilings aside, there were good and bad things about this experience. On the day of the rehearsal, my foot fell through a rotten plank of wood and they immediately remedied that which was amazing. Our advisor was very kind and helpful throughout the experience and answered our endless questions. The day of the wedding, however, our advisor was not scheduled to be working, so he was not there and the only staff who were there had not met us before and, due to a language barrier, had a very tough time communicating our needs. Several things went wrong the day-of like no electricity in the ceremony space, tables and chairs incorrectly laid out (several guests had nowhere to sit), and those ceilings were still unfinished (also wasps live in the insulation and attacked one of my bridesmaids). We brought up these concerns to our advisor and never received a response. Like, for weeks. We followed up. Nothing. Then, we get a check in the mail which IMO was not for enough money, but still no communication. It's like the customer service relationship immediately ends on the day of the wedding. Just bizarre. If they ever fix these ceilings, I'd say book it and ensure that your advisor will be working the day of your wedding.
