Be careful with this school. There is a reason there are no women here. Mr. Norman will always…read morequestion your virtue. It's even on both doors, "Virtue is the Essence ", however he does not display much of his own. He will be very kind and use up your resources then treat you so badly that you can no longer tolerate attending. But no worries. . . He will be sure to tell everyone that you were in the wrong and just would not listen. As for children, he can be kind at times but watch out if your child is gifted. . .he will stifle your child with unfair obstacles. And if your child has too much fun, then prepare yourself. Your child will not be treated kindly. As for children with disabilities, he can be helpful and he'll pat himself on the back for any accomplishments you child makes. He never gives receipts so be prepared to pay for things and never receive them. Mr. Norman always has an excuse for not getting your item to you. It could be years or it could be never.

I attended this school for 3 years and 11 months taking a Tai Chi class. I learned a tremendous…read moreamount from Mr. Norman. In January 2015 everyone in the class was notified by a phone call from Sandi that the class was on hold for the month of January because Mr. Norman had some training to do. After 3 months ,none of the members have been contacted with any information about the class. It is our belief that we were lied to! This is a very unprofessional and inconsiderate way to end a class of nearly 4 years! Neither Mr. Norman or Sandi contacted any of the students in the class to tell them it was ending! This kind of noncommunication is disrespectful to someone who has invested in your school for almost 4 years. I would never recommend this school to anyone after being treated so poorly in the end and neither will any of the other students that I have been in contact with!

I went to WiseWays this morning with a friend for an Easy Flow Yoga class. As it was my first time…read morethere, the instructor Julie was extremely helpful in getting my friend and me set up After filling out the necessary paperwork, we went into the yoga room. It's probably one of the coolest yoga spaces I've seen. The room is dimly lit with only natural light, the ceiling has drape-y things hanging from it, there are several woven baskets with mats and yoga props, and there are even bongos situated in the room! It definitely helped set the mood of the class. The teacher took the time to explain the set up and flow of the class to me and my friend. The set up was different for me. The class started with self-massage. I've never experienced that before, and while it was a foreign concept to me, I enjoyed it. During the self-massage, we were given some aromatherapy cream, which was awesome. I love smelling hippy smells like pachouli during yoga. It makes me feel more calm. The class was an hour and 15 minutes - definitely a great value! We went through gentle and modified versions of the sun salutation and many other common yoga poses. I enjoyed the gentle stretch and relaxation to start my weekend. But since I am more experienced in yoga, I wish it were a bit more vigorous. To be fair, though, I need to try the other two types of classes, as the Easy Flow is meant to be...well, easy. The only thing I disliked was that the class was only 3 people large. I enjoy bigger classes because I feed off of the energy of others in the class. I also have a feeling that most folks don't know about this place. If you're not interested in yoga, they also have tai chi classes. I recommend it and will be back!

With a year-long unlimited membership pass, I am pretty familiar with Wiseways/Shift yoga. (They…read morechanged owners and the name to Shift in January '13.) Upside: super friendly staff and fellow yoga lovers. Big enough parking lot and its kind of hidden around the corner. Wonderful, relaxing classes. Downsides: Sort of a small space, so right after they do a Groupon or something it can get grossly crowded for a week or two. Very limited weekend classes: none on Fridays or Sundays, and only one on Saturday at 8:30a. Pretty inconvenient if you have a regular 9-5. Also if you're under 30 you'll be the youngest in the class.
