Recently we noticed all our drains "gurgling & bubbling" loudly when water was being run. Water was draining slowly in my tub. After 3 days, our main toilet wouldn't flush. Drano, vinegar & baking soda & boiling water didn't help. I came across My Professional Plumber out of Oak Ridge, TN and they were able to get someone out within an hour. April at the office (I called 865-609-6080) went out of her way to find someone right away to come out. If it wasn't for her efforts, I would've ended up calling another company. I was happy to receive a text from the Technician Branden A. He also called to say he would be over in 45 mins and was driving a distance. He arrived right on time, wore shoe covers & was well-groomed. Branden asked many questions before looking at the problem, which I appreciated. Turned out I had a clog leading out to my Septic tank, which he resolved; advised me on proper maintenance, and gave me needed treatment to pour down my drains. I was so thankful Branden did not price-gouge and didn't "find" any other issues; even tho I'm a single woman over 50. His price was much lower than if I had gone with another company I almost used. He charged reasonably for the job; not by the hour; he saved me $$$ because of his honesty! Thanks Branden & My Professional Plumber. Highly recommend! I will request him in the future! read more

It saddens me to write a review such as this, but it's important I do so. Last weekend I called MPP on Saturday because we had major issues with our toilets not flushing and the pipes leaking into the basement. One of their technicians came out, took a look in the bathrooms, around the house, and in the basement, only to claim there was nothing they could do for us without a total repiping job. Needless to say I was very upset and it wasn't until later in the week. I could find an independent plumber to come out and perform the necessary repairs, which took less than 90 minutes. After MPP's office manager texted me to follow up on the repiping estimate they had sent, I informed her of my displeasure, and asked specifically for the owner to call me. When that didn't happen, I called again with the same request. After four days, it was clear he had no intention of reaching out to me. I'm not sure what's going on with this business but their service and attitude are less than "professional"! read more

I am writing this review so I can find this business later. I had multiple quotes, but the other plumbers would give a breakdown of labor and parts costs like my home warranty wanted. This company not only gave a breakdown of costs like I needed but also provided the BEST pictures!!! I truly appreciated how many pictures were taken & how the pictures were marked up by the tech. The work was done on 12/1/21. They were a bit more pricey but seemed to have better customer service & they definitely had amazing documentation. read more

Nothing much more inconvenient than clogged toilets! My Professional Plumber was out within a couple of hours and Ron quickly identified that the problem as more than a simple clog, using video to determine that roots had grown obstructing the pipe leading to my septic system. Ron used some sort of device to literally remove the roots and the pipe was clear again. What was most impressive was Ron's ability to quickly diagnose the problem and having devices to both pinpoint the problem and remove the roots Would highly recommend!! read more

We contacted My Professional Plumber regarding a sewer smell in our home, the company sent Josh out. I have to say Josh was very professional & courteous. He seemed very knowledgeable & explained everything thoroughly. Unfortunately he wasn't able to detect the issue, but was able to redirect us as to our next step in resolving our issue. I would also like to mention we did receive an email and text confirming when Josh would arrive, which was really nice. We were having a new shower installed and ran into some plumbing issues. Called several companies and while this one was the only one that could do the job quickly (we were on a tight schedule) I feel we were taken advantage of. First off I do want to point out the person that did the work, did everything correctly and there were no issues with the quality of the work. My issue was the price and attitude of the company. I was okay with the $295 to install 2 sink valves and 1 toilet valve. What I, and my wife, were not okay with was the $695 to move a tub drain about 3 inches and add an adapter to accept our new shower drain. They also installed new plumbing for the shower faucet/shower head, they charged over $500 for that. This involved about 6 feet of Pex plumbing pipe and a few fittings. We were quoted labor for half a day (to me that's 4 hours). He didn't even take 2 hours. After talking with each other, our daughter (she has some knowledge in this area) and our tile installer we expected, at most, a price of between $600 - 700. We were charged over double this. If we hadn't been in a bind when I got the estimate for this I would have walked the guy right out of my door. It's nice they were able to do the work in the time-frame we had, but to take advantage of someone like this is totally uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. Do not use this company. i booked them to come to my mothers home to unstop a kitchen sink with a 24 hour notice and an agreement to come between 4pm and 6pm on 4/22/22. They said there would be a $99 service call plus the cost of the repair. I agreed to this. At great inconvenience I drove 20 miles to wait for them. They did not come. At 5:55 I called them and they claimed they had left a message that they would be coming 2 days later on Thursday. I had already waited for them and the sink was beginning to smell. I suggested they better do as they promised and come on out. A man called back and the first thing he asked was if I would be paying by cash, check, or card. He then told me it would be $99 plus approximately $325, over $425 to repair the sink. I am willing to pay a fair price and we would have not had a problem if he had done as he said and come between 2pm and 4pm, I think they are unprofessional, greedy, and not worth doing business with. They are a disgrace to the plumbing profession. I repeat, do. It use this company unless you want a lot of frustration and extra charges. read more

This was my worst service call ever. The tech showed up in a nice truck with a nice white shirt. Then he had the nerve to quote me $750.00 to replace my pressure regulator valve. This is a $75 part that takes about 30 minutes to install. I've replaced them before so I know what the deal is. I laughed when he gave me the quote, gave him the $100 he required for just the quote. I further told him that he ought to quit this company and go to work for an honest company. I bet 90% of their "customers" give them the $100 and send them on their way. No wonder he has the clean white shirt...he never actually does any plumbing. He just spends 5 minutes to make a ridiculous quote, gets his $100 and goes on his way. Never has to get his hands dirty. I called My Professional Plumber because of their ratings on Google. Others have had a better experience. Here is mine. MY ADVICE IS CALL AROUND BEFORE YOU CALL THEM. It might save you $69. They don't do free quotes (others will) and they are super expensive. Here was my experience. Fix needed - toilet repair kit and install for one toilet. Toilet lever for a second toilet. I have Mansfield toilets. Minor issues 1. They seemed confused with appointment times and kept mixing me up with other customers 2. Wrong address written down by the plumber 3. The wrong name used when calling me Irritations 1. THEY DON'T OFFER FREE QUOTES. Not being able to quote over the phone. Told by the owner (Jamie) he didn't know pricing and I would have to wait for a service technician who would give me a quote. When I asked if it was a free quote, I was told it was but I would be charged a $69 service visit. I agreed (that was a mistake as others do give free estimates). When I asked about this I was told: "Anytime I have quoted a price over the phone and it turns out to be something different than what I quoted a price for people will hold you to that price." Others have solved this problem - see below. Disappointments 1. Overestimating the parts needed. I needed one full toilet replacement kit and a lever for the second toilet. 3. Quoting me over $600 for the job and telling me that the only parts they use are Wolverine Brass parts and they did not have them on the truck. Full replacement OEM Mansfield parts are $32 per kit by the way not that I needed full replacement parts just one full kit and a lever. Frustration 1. Being charged $69 for a quote that was overpriced and ridiculous Bad Experience 1. Asking the owner for a refund for the $69 and being asked to provide a competitive quote so they might consider refunding. I was told, "Send me an estimate from a close competitor and I can review it to offer a refund" 2. Addressed as if I was trying to "get a deal" when I texted the owner Jamie directly to resolve the issue. He replied "The common trend is for everyone to 'go online and leave a review' these days in order to get a deal or a refund. It has become so popular that some people immediately inform us that if we don't give a cheap price they will go on the internet. It's the society we live in." - It should be noted that I was sent a link by them to give them a review after the visit and so here it is. He further addressed the pricing issue by saying "my job is to provide the quality our customers have come to expect with technicians who are clean and professional going into homes" Personally, I don't think I should have to pay a premium for a clean and professional plumber - it kinda goes with having a good business. Positive 1. Even with their mishaps in confirming the appointment and writing down the wrong address, the plumber arrived within the service time window as promised. Takeaways DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE CALLING THEM. I took Jamie's advice and called several places and did receive free quotes. I won't be sending them to Jamie as he requested. The plumber I selected provided me the following: 1. He laughed at the use of a clean and professional plumber being used as a differentiator. Basically said if you are not you will not be in business. 2. He had me take pictures of the toilet so he could assess the need without visiting. Easy breezy. Texted him the photos and he responded immediately. 3. Was upfront about costs - no hidden book of costs. He told me that his company charges for parts with a mark up to handle the ordering etc. He said to beware of businesses that won't give costs for jobs that any professional plumber has done a thousand times. 4. He will charge me an hourly rate for the repair which he shared with me. With labor and parts, I will be out of pocket in the $150 to $200 range. Oh, and the quote was free. Tripling the cost of a commodity job because I get a "clean plumber" makes me wonder what it costs to have clean integrity? read more

I agree with all the comments about excellent customer service, courteous tech, and job done well. My big beef is the PRICE! I had a leaky kitchen faucet 2 days before Thanksgiving. The tech arrived on time, I even got a text with his name and picture. He arrived in a crisp white shirt, smiled and took me to the cleaners. To replace ONE kitchen faucet and TWO under counter fittings was $595.00. Yes, he gave me the price upfront but his presence (service call) already was 60+ dollars. With family coming for the holidays and lots to do, I said go ahead. 1 Hour and 10 Minutes later I had a new faucet (I previously bought) installed and I was out $600.00! A very professional organization, but I`d rather pay Jimmy-Bob 100 bucks. read more

I had a leaky gas line from my shut off behind the stove to the stove. Jamie came out and checked the flexible hose and the fitting had a slight leak he replaced the flexible hose (cost of part 30.00). The job was completed within an hour and the charge was 480.00. These are probably the cleanest, friendliest plumbers I have ever had in my house. Shoe covers before entering my house. Not a single thing or tool he used touched a surface in my house. Everything was placed on a large mat that he layed before starting work. They fixed the leaky faucet I called about originally. When he was done he offered to do an inspection of my other plumbing. I thought "This is where they make their money." Well after reviewing everything, including my gas lines, he said everything was in great working order and nothing further needed to be addressed. I will definitely call them in the future for any other plumbing issues. Or gas! I had no idea plumbers worked on gas lines. read more

My husband called the number for Cutler Plumbing Company, the plumbing company who had installed our water heater in January 2011. This call connected him to My Plumber, Inc. whom he learned had bought Cutler Plumbing approximately 2 months earlier. My husband was under the impression that the company was still a local business in Maryville. My husband told the dispatcher that he needed someone to look at the water heater which was leaking from part of the thermostat on the bottom of the water heater. He also told her that the water heater was a 40 gallon natural gas American water heater and the plumber should go ahead and bring a new one to install in case the old one could not be repaired. My husband received a text that our plumber was on the way and his name would be Bill Miller. A picture of Bill was also included. He was told that the Service Call would be $199 because it was a Saturday evening. When Bill arrived he entered through our garage. He did not go to the from door where the porch light had been turned on. He entered the house in his spotless uniform and blue shoe covers and an Ipad. He brought no tools. He looked at our hot water heater and wanted to know who had removed the cover over the thermostat and at this time my husband was not home as he was on his way back from running an errand. I explained that my husband had removed the cover and that as a commercial construction superintendent he was used to working with plumbers. By this time my husband arrived and explained where the leak was coming from. Bill stated "there's no way water could leak from there." There was water coming from the area at the time of Bill's most genius statement. My husband asked "so we need a new water heater then?" Bill's response was, of course, "yes." My husband said "well, go ahead and grab one off your truck and lets get it installed." Bill then informed us in a rather condescending tone that he didn't carry supplies on his truck and the supply house was closed so there would be no way he could get a water heater today. At that time I spoke up and said "I need a water heater. My husband is leaving to go back to Kentucky to his job site tomorrow and I need this taken care of." Bill's response was a cocky " what do you want me to do?" At that time my husband asked "what if I go to Lowes and get a water heater? What would you charge me to install that." "$600" was Bill's response. By this time it was quite obvious that Bill had no intentions of helping us with our hot water heater issue, but he did mention that maybe another technician could come on Sunday. I asked "why would someone need to come tomorrow because your supply house is closed." We also learned that the supply house was located in Knoxville and that there was only an office in Maryville (I'm assuming the former Cutler Plumbing office). I told Bill that we would not be needing his services and at that time he pulled up the Ipad that he had carried into our home and showed me 3 places to sign so he could get his nearly $200 payment for doing nothing. I would never call this company again for anything! It's sad that a reputable, local company like Cutler Plumbing has been purchased by a company like My Plumber, Inc! It's also sad that Bill was a condescending, arrogant jerk to me and to my husband and had no intentions of helping us. Ohhhh....he did tell my husband to go ahead and hook up a garden hose to the water heater to drain it. Don't waste your time with this company!! read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about My Professional Plumber... Especially regarding Bill. I have requested their service a couple of times in the past few months and their level of professionalism, knowledge, and service is outstanding. After the heavy rain at the end of February I was in need of a new water heater ASAP. Bill was able to come out within an hour of my initial call and installed a new heater that same day. And recently on another service call, Bill went above and beyond by cleaning up a mess left at my house by another company. They tracked dirt on my floors throughout my house and he cleaned up after them I cannot recommend enough. 10/10! read more

We had a plumber come out to the house this last Friday, 10/25/19, to change out a leaky shower faucet. Upon arrival, we first noticed his professional appearance. We soon learned that is was because salesmen have to look professional. I showed him what needed replaced (I had already taken the faucet knob and cover off for him before he showed up) and he proceeded to "interview" me about our plumbing. He pulls out a lengthy checklist sheet from his binder and tells me that he wants to conduct an entire house plumbing inspection. I told him that we did not need an inspection, that we just needed our faucet replaced and that I had the replacement part. He started to object, but saw that I was serious. He then calculates his charge on his tablet, which, when I saw how much it was I almost gasped - $69.00 for him to walk into my house and $210.00 for the repair. Although I did not want to pay that much, I agreed, signing his tablet. He then takes a picture of the faucet and goes to his truck to get tools - he had come into the house with none. He comes back and I ask him whether he was charging me for the part, since I was supplying it. He said no, that the part is usually about $40.00. So I asked him, " so it would be $250.00 for the repair if I did not have the part?" he said yes. I should have not told him that I had the part until he first quoted me the repair. Then I could have really seen whether he was charging me for it. He then starts the repair - he cannot get the retention ring, that holds the cartridge in, off the valve body. He asked me to help him, which I do. We get it loosened, he replaces the part, and puts everything back together. We walk downstairs and he says that he is going to check the water pressure at the outside hose bib. He does and he then tells me that our water pressure was slightly higher than it should be and begins to to use scare tactics saying that the high pressure could damage the entire plumbing system and to try to get me to agree to have him replace the pressure reducing valve for $477.00. I said that I would think about it. I should have asked him if his gauge was recently calibrated. He then demanded that I pay for his current services right then, ($284.00). I told him that I was expecting to be invoiced and then mail in the payment, He told me that is not the way they do things. I told him that the receptionist had not told me that I needed to to pay on the day of the repair when I made the appointment. He says that she should have and that their calls are recorded. He then calls his office to see who had taken my call. When he hangs up, I ask him if he was going to discount my service since he had required my help to do the repair. He said that he could not do that. I told him that his company should have sent out the proper manpower to do the work. I wonder what he would have done if I had been unable to help him? He called his office again and talked to the owner. He gets off the phone and says that he can take $25.00 off of my bill. I agree, pay ($259.00), and he leaves. After he leaves, I called the office and spoke to the owner and told him that I was not happy about not being told, when I made the appointment, that I would need to pay at the time of the service. I have NEVER paid a technician on the spot - (Plumbing, HVAC, or electrical). He said that he feels uncomfortable telling customers on the phone, "Oh, by the way", you have to pay the technician before he leaves. I told him that telling the customers up front, at the time they make the appointment, would be better. Then there would not be any surprises. After the technician leaves, I called the water utility company and asked what our water pressure should be and what the plumber had told us. The engineer said that it was a little high, but would not be anything to be too concerned about and that it would not damage any appliances hooked up to water or any plumbing fixtures. I will likely not use My Professional Plumber again for any repairs in the future. Their prices are too high, but I guess they need to pay for their Mercedes vans..... Had the plumber who built our house not tightened the retention ring on the faucet too tight, I could have done the work myself and we would not have needed MPP's services. read more

However, for me professionalism, timeliness, and cleanliness are more important than dollars. Every job I have given them has been done properly, timely, and just as they said it would be done. I would never hire My Professional Plumber again if they were the only ones available! I had them come to my house because my toilet was constantly running and wanted it fixed. the tech came to my told what he was going to do in replacing the flush valve and how much it would cost, gave me an estimate which I signed and he proceeded with the job. when the job was complete and I had paid my bill he showed what the problem was, a worn gasket which he said is the only part that needed replacing and not the whole unit which would have save me about $400+. After he left I call and made a complaint saying I felt I was scammed for what should have been an easy fix and told them I would never use them again. The owner called and listened to my complaint and eventually refunded my money which I appreciated. because of this they put me on a do not work list barring me from using their services again. My advice to anyone looking for a plumber is to avoid this company at all costs. read more
