On Mother's Day my husband took me to the TLC on Memorial to select an orchid. I have 6 orchids in…read moremy home and know how to care of them. The orchid I chose at TLC had a couple of areas on the leaves that looked like cotton. I took it back to the information desk and the women wiped off the white area and told me it would be fine. My husband purchased the orchid for me for $60.00. Unfortunately, the white chalky substance kept coming back. I googled the information and found out it had mealybugs. I followed the directions to clean the area with alcohol. After trying to remove it for two months without success, I took the plant back to TLC today to ask for help. Paul, the manager was at the front door and told me to go to the middle of the store to talk to the woman at the information desk. She determined the mealybugs were in the potting media which is why I could not eliminate them with alcohol. She said she could repot the orchid but there would be a cost. Obviously, the potting media was infected when the orchid was purchased two months ago. I was insulted when told I would have to pay for the repotting process. I spoke with the manager, Paul, and he told me house plants do not have any type of warranty. I learned a lesson today. I will not buy house plants from TLC! The orchid WAS purchased at TLC on May 6! The above story is accurate except for the amount spent ($50 instead of $60). I had not looked up the receipt before coming by TLC yesterday. The reference number on the receipt is 32073802. The total amount spent that day was $122.70. I have 6 very healthy orchids purchased at different locations. The white pot left with the orchid must have been switched while watering. The orchid purchased from Whole Foods is healthy and doing well. Actually, over the years I have never had a problem with an orchid being affected with mealybugs except for the orchid purchased at TLC. One statement you made is correct. This is the first review I have made on YELP because I wanted to let others know that customer service is questionable at your business. I understand policy is policy on the return of houseplants. I was not upset until being told there would be a charge to repot the plant. It didn't make sense for me as the customer, to pay to correct a problem that I wasn't responsible for. It would have cost very little for your employee to offer to repot the plant for free.

Our original schedule start date was delayed by a month due to extreme heat, so our broken fence…read moresat propped up for several months. We were under the impression the entire side of the fence was what was quoted for repair when we had the initial visit and discussion. When they came out to tear down and set the poles they hit our sprinkler line. I was able to have that repaired the same day, they were notified the repair was complete, but they didn't come back to set the poles until the day they put up the fence. So they set the poles and did the fence at the same time. Then I noticed they only replaced half the fence. So we called them back and it took days to get a response and then they said it would cost more to have the full side completed. This was a surprise to us. Now it's been a month since the fence was completed and we still haven't received an invoice, and we still don't know our cost. My husband called and left multiple messages during this process and no one has responded to us. The fence itself looks fine but communication is lacking. We had planned to use this company for the rest of the property but after this experience we will go with someone else. This company has a great reputation so we were disappointed with our experience. It all came down to communication failures.
