I got the vehicle back - they had changed the PVC valve but incorrectly to where the next morning when driving to work in Meridian - I had no brakes. I'm lucky I didn't get into an accident or worse. I called Emmett Automotive, they asked me to drive it back to the shop in Emmett! I refused, it was unsafe to drive. They towed it to a sister shop of their's, Roger's tire where it was found that the PCV valve grommet was not put back on correctly, and because of that my motor sucked in quite a bit of oil. And then wouldn't stop. Blue smoke, burning tons of oil, and running terrible. They took it back for a couple of weeks and tried to fix it, but ultimately told me that I now needed a new engine, catalytic converter, and many other issues. I couldn't even drive my car away from their shop- I had to have it towed. I filed a small claim since they refused to make it right, the judge sided with me on the case and they are still refusing to pay. DISHONEST, Do not go to Emmett Automotive in Emmett unless you want to be out a car, or deal with a company that doesn't care. One of the employees was great - Dean. But his company will not do the right thing, even he knew that wasn't right.

I called Modern Auto Service and Kevin (who comely and confidently said he would take care of my daughter) sent a tow truck, had a loaner car ready for her and was prepared to work on her car first thing the next morning get her on her way. The tow truck was very quick and she arrived at their shop 30 minutes after closing. One of their mechanics stayed late, found the problem quickly (spark plug wire was loose) and sent her on her way with no charge other than the tow. I came with 2 specific problems. Having already pulled codes, I knew exactly what needed to be…read moredone. I requested 6 spark plugs and 6 plug wires be replaced. Also, an oil leak had been previously diagnosed as a valve cover leak, so I requested that both valve cover gaskets be replaced. Seeing that they had an alignment rack, I also requested a front end alignment. I was told I had to authorize $240. To get started. Assuming this fee would be applied to any work done, I OKed it and they got started. Later that day I got an estimate that was very close to $6,600.! And get this, the estimate did not even include the valve cover gasket replacement AND including an automatic transmission service for $485. The only problem is MY VEHICLE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION!! They were obviously just checking every service that was programmed in their computer. I declined all repairs as I have an aversion to being bent over. I was still charged the $240. To cover them writing this bloated estimate. I would strongly suggest that you go elsewhere. unless you like getting bent over, thats cool. I don't judge.
